Look – MAC Sugarsweet Look with Aquavert & Lemon Chiffon

Another Sugarsweet look! Getting tired of them yet? I wore this look yesterday, when my boyfriend and I met my parents and sister for dim sum. Hope your Monday is off to a good start!

You will need the following…

Eyes: Lemon Chiffon shadestick (pale white-yellow), Sugarshot eyeshadow (frosty white), Aquavert eyeshadow (pale green-teal), Club eyeshadow (dark green-brown-gray), Shroom eyeshadow (soft neutral highlighter), Eve Pearl Liquid Liner (black), Urban Decay Underground 24/7 Stash Liner (dark gold/brown), Plushlash mascara (black)
Cheeks: Chanel In Love blush (dirty pink), Refined mineralize skinfinish (peach)
Lips: Touch lipstick (light brown with red), Palatial lustreglass (sheer hot pink)
Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
Substitutes: Lemon Chiffon = Baselight; Sugarshot = Phloof!; Aquavert = Juxt+Shimmermoss; Refined = Soft & Gentle; Touch = Brew

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Lemon Chiffon shadestick all over the lid as the base. On the inner lid, apply Sugarshot eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Aquavert eyeshadow to the middle and outer portion of the lid. Darken crease with Club eyeshadow using the 226, lightly blending towards the outer lid. Sweep Shroom eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Stash Liner on lower lash line, Eve Pearl Liquid Liner on upper lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Chanel In Love blush using the 129, then highlight with Refined mineralize skinfinish with the 188. Apply Touch lipstick to lips, and then top with Palatial lustreglass for color and shine.

Look – Sugarsweet Aquavert & Stars ‘n Rockets

Sugarsweet Look!

I actually really liked how this turned out — it’s been a minute since I’ve been super satisfied with how a makeup look has come out, and I’m pretty pleased with this one! I didn’t think it would work when I started, but it definitely came together. Even Perfect Topping gave me some color! Shocker! I recommend using the 165 brush (or a dense brush) to give you concentrated color for those who struggle to get anything except shimmer from MSFs.

You will need the following…

Eyes: Cakeshop shadestick (gray-green), Aquavert eyeshadow (light green-teal), Sugarshot eyeshadow (frosty white), Stars ‘n Rockets eyeshadow (fuchsia-purple), Lemon Chiffon shadestick (white-gold), Femme-fi eyeshadow (soft neutral highlighter), Feline kohl power (black), Plushlash mascara (black)
Cheeks: Perfect Topping mineralize skinfinish (pale pink)
Lips: Saint Germain lipstick (cool pink with purple undertones), Tasty tricolour lipglass (sheer pink)
Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
Substitutes: Cakeshop = Delft (leans tealer/bluer); Aquavert = Juxt (leans yellower); Sugarshot = Phloof!; Lemon Chiffon = Baselight; Femme-fi = Shroom; Feline = Graphblack; Perfect Topping = Pink Freeze; Saint Germain = Pink Nouveau; Tasty = Palatial

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Cakeshop shadestick all over the lid as the base. On the inner lid, apply Aquavert eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Sugarshot eyeshadow to the middle of the lid. Darken the outer lid using Stars ‘n Rockets eyeshadow using the 239. Darken crease with Stars ‘n Rockets eyeshadow using the 226. Apply Lemon Chiffon shadestick along brow bone to create a base. Sweep Femme-fi eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Apply Cakeshop shadestick as liner on lower lashes. Using the 219, apply Aquavert eyeshadow over the shadestick on the lower lash line. Finish with Feline khol power on lower waterline, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Perfect Topping using the 165. Apply Saint Germain lipstick to lips, and then top with Tasty tricolour lipglass for color and shine.

Look – Oceanic Aquas and Blues

Yet another old look! I did this around mid-November, I think, but I made the worst mistake! So, I did all the makeup so I could post on the blog, but I started removing my makeup before I had taken full-face photos. My total apologies for the way the full-face photos turned out, because I only realized my error after I had removed one eye. I tried to hide it using my hair, but it didn’t go so well, LOL. But hopefully you get the idea.

Now, I better get my butt back to studying. My three-hour final starts at 1PM, and it is worth 100% of my grade! Wish me luck

Cheeks: Enough Said blush (soft peach)
Lips: Ravishing lipstick (coral-orange), Pink Grapefruit lipglass (coral-pink)
Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
Substitutes: Azreal = Blue + Frozen White; Aquavert = Tilt; Enough Said = bronzer, Pink Grapefruit = Lychee Luxe

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Azreal pigment all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, apply Aquavert eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Shimmermoss eyeshadow to the middle of the lid, then overlay partiall with Electric Eel eyeshadow. Darken the outer lid using Freshwater eyeshadow and drag into crease using the 239. Darken crease with Freshwater eyeshadow using the 239. Sweep Gorgeous Gold eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Prescriptives’ Blue Grotto liner on lower lash line then smudge with Freshwater eyeshadow using the 219, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Enough Said blush using the 129. Apply Ravishing lipstick to lips, and then top with Pink Grapefruit lipglass for color and shine.

Looks – Colour Forms Gilded Green Rocks

You know that feeling you get when you do a look, and you just LOVE it? I totally had that yesterday. Admittedly, I haven’t really loved, loved, loved anything I have done in awhile. Gilded Green is a pretty unique pigment, because I couldn’t think of a great permanent dupe for it. Makes me think I might need to reconsider the CF pigments, but I’ll probably look for samples instead of buying them in full size.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this look as much as I did

I used Gilded Green pigment (LE) on lid, Aquavert eyeshadow (LE) on inner lid, Wondergrass eyeshadow (LE) on middle of lid, Newly Minted eyeshadow on outer lid, Humid eyeshadow on outer lid/crease, Ricepaper eyeshadow above crease and on brow, Graphblack technakohl on lower lash line, Shade fluidline on upper lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. I wore Suncentered Color Forms Powder (LE) on cheeks. I had Cursty lipstick (LE) with Nymphette lipglass on my lips.

** These are recommendations for dupes based on permanent colors available – may not necessarily be identical; they are the closest I can think of!

Gilded Green = Emerald Green + Frost + (a dash of) Teal; Aquavert = Surreal; Wondergrass = Bio Green; Suncentered = Cantaloupe; Curtsy = Jubilee

Looks – Heatherette Trio #1 Fake-it in Smoky Teal

Even though Mood Ring is gorgeous, and the packaging for the eyeshadow trios is sleek and up my alley, I just can’t bring myself to buy it quite yet. So I set out to dupe a look I know I’d do as soon as I got the trio instead… BTW, clean your brushes often! I went to fix part of the inner lid, and what do you know, I get some teal-black, too.

I used Soft Ochre paint pot all over lid, Shroom eyeshadow on inner lid, Aquavert eyeshadow on middle of lid, Newly Minted eyeshadow patted on middle lid, Cloudburst eyeshadow on outer lid and crease, Newly Minted eyeshadow patted on outer crease, Shimmermoss eyeshadow on outer lid, Shroom eyeshadow above crease and on brow, Black Funk/Pop Blue dual edge pencil on lower lash line, Gorgeous Gold eyeshadow on lower inner lash line, Plushblack mascara, and Brun eyeshadow for brows. I wore Springsheen blush on cheeks with Guerlain Mythic Parfait Pressed Meterorite to highlight cheeks. I had Soft Lust lipstick with Vital Spark and Tartlette lipglass on my lips.

* This look is meant to replicate one that could be made using Heatherette Trio 1. Shroom = Hoppin’; Mood Ring = Aquavert, Newly Minted, Shimmermoss (They all get muddled together in this look – Aquadisiac + Newly Minted would also work; Meadowland is a good dupe on its own); Cloudburst = Cloudburst eyeshadow (launched with Blue Storm) — can be replaced with Carbon and layer Shimmermoss (tap it) for the slight blue reflects from Cloudburst.

** The lips are meant to also duplicate Heatherette products: Soft Lust = Lollipop Lovin’ (no green reflects in this version); Vital Spark + Tartlette = Sock Hop with shimmer.
