MAC All Ages, All Races, All Sexes Collection: Overall & Round-up

OVERALL, the All Ages, All Races, All Sexes Collection is really going to be a hit or miss collection for many. I don’t think it has the mass appeal of some of MAC’s previous more neutral collections, like Blonde, Brunette, and Redhead or the N Collection. I think some of the shades may be too “blah” looking, even if they’re good shades to have in your color wardrobe.

MAC All Ages, All Races, All Sexes Collection: Pigment

Focusing just on the colors, Rich Life isn’t my cup of tea, mostly because of the glittery texture, but Universal Mix is absolutely lovely. For those concerned about sizes, I just want to let you all know that tomorrow (well, assuming I receive my digital scale today), I’ll be doing another comparison of old jar vs. new jar of the same pigment and will also have a scale on hand.

MAC All Ages, All Races, All Sexes Collection: Impeccable Brow Pencils

New for the collection are Impeccable Brow Pencils. The new brow pencil is available in four shades, and the names do correspond to what probably fits the majority. I’m more of a brow powder kind of girl, having used MAC Espresso Eyeshadow for about six years now, as my go-to for brows. I like this, but I don’t love it. For those who want more definition, pencil is definitely a better option than shadow. I would still suggest using a fluffier brush like the 266 or a clean mascara wand to brush through brows for a softer, more natural look.

MAC All Ages, All Races, All Sexes Collection: Lipglass , Lip Swatches

I’m pleased with the opacity on these lipglasses — they’re all quite rich in color for lipglasses, and it is quite unusual to find this many pigmented shades in a single launch. If you don’t like frosty lips, though, you may not find yourself swooning over these, because three of the four do have that frosty, glimmering look. Like the lipsticks, whether these are for you is really a matter of personal taste; none of them are bad in formula, texture, or feel, but the colors may not appeal to everyone.

MAC All Ages, All Races, All Sexes Collection: Lipstick , Lip Swatches

I think the lipsticks will be hit or miss for many — it’s really about personal tastes rather than the formulas. Three of the four are lustres, but Empowered is a satin finish lipstick and has a spectacular amount of pigmentation, creaminess, and overall feel. It’s not my kind of color, though, which makes me wish it was! Equality is definitely not going to be an easy shade for us to pull off; probably gotta layer it with another lipstick and/or gloss. Myself is really weird, because it is myself on me. Which isn’t bad, but hey, I wear lipstick so I can’t *change* the lip color.

MAC All Ages, All Races, All Sexes Collection: Beauty Powder Blushes

The beauty powder blushes are interesting, if only because neither shade seems like a blush at first glance. I think some might find these work for contouring, others for blushing/bronzing. I liked Personal Style the most, because I could see it being just a hint of definition on cheeks when eyes/lips are bold.
