How are you? How was your Saturday? Did you do anything fun or do you have something planned for today? We’re bound and determined (and we just might be bound) to hang some Christmas lights on the house today, rain or shine. The other non-blogging-related-task I really want to get done is hang up all my earrings, because the collection I’ve accumulated on my desk is just embarrassing! I have a good feeling today is going to be particularly productive, and I’m looking forward to it. Sometimes the rain (that’s our winter) derails my productivity–I already have two bright white floor lamps in my room but I think I need even more light to combat the dreary gray outside my window.

How are you? How’s your weekend been? What has been the most exciting thing you’ve done? I can’t believe it’s December! I can’t believe 2012 is almost gone. We had brunch earlier (veggie omelet for me), and we’re hoping to decorate the exterior of the house a bit for the holidays–well, attempt to do so, anyway.
I spent my Saturday making Mellan miserable, aka gave him a bath and washed his bed cover. He can’t even wait for it to dry; he had to curl up (damp and all) on the innards of his bed. Sometimes I think he likes his bath, other times I don’t know. As soon as I turn on the water, he’ll come running and will jump in, but he never looks all that happy once he’s in the tub. In case anyone’s looking for a rec, I highly recommend Earthbath Oatmeal & Aloe shampoo. One of my favorite characteristics is that it has a nice, natural scent (nothing synthetic or perfume-y) that lasts two weeks or so (on Mellan, who is mostly an indoor dog).
Are you all shopped out yet? I’ve picked up most of my Christmas gifts for the year, though there are a few I’m hoping to snag a deal on come Cyber Monday. The hardest part about shopping early is having to keep everything a secret for the next month! Ahh!
How has your weekend been treating you thus far? It’s been a rather gloomy, rainy weekend here, but I’ve managed not to succumb to the cold weather entirely (I’m so much more productive when it’s sunny out). I also managed to bathe Mellan yesterday morning, so I’ve been able to enjoy a clean, extra-soft puppy all weekend. I can’t decide if he loves or hates bath time. As soon as he hears the shower turn on, he races there, jumps into the tub, but he doesn’t seem to have a whole lot of fun in there. He usually just sits there until it’s over, then I close the glass doors and tell him to “dry,” so he’ll shake off excess water. (I’d say “shake” but he will raise his paw to shake your hand!)
I’m really excited about today, because we’re going to be shopping for holiday decorations and ornaments. We picked up our (artificial) tree yesterday at Lowe’s, but I figured I could wait at least another day to build it since we don’t have anything to decorate it with yet!
How’s your weekend been so far? Are you enjoying the extra hour? I always try to use the extra hour as a way to get up earlier, because, inevitably, I stay up too late, wake up later, and then that becomes the routine. This has always been a great way for me to jumpstart that earlier routine without much work!
