May you enjoy yours, however that may be, with whoever you love in your life. So many people help guide us through life, sometimes natural mothers, often times those who take on the roles without ever really saying so. I have an amazing mother, mother-in-law, and two grandmothers that have all helped me along the way–and I’m sure they’ll continue to do so. Happy Mother’s Day!
How has your weekend been going? We did a little barbecuing yesterday, and that turned out well, so we were quite pleased with ourselves. Mellan is due for a bath, so I’m hoping to squeeze that in this afternoon! What about you? How are you rounding out your weekend?
How has your weekend been treating you? I’m working on editing the photos I took yesterday for NARS’ collaboration with Pierre Hardy, and then hopefully writing up reviews for the polishes. I managed to get through all outstanding comments yesterday (that was my big goal for yesterday), and fingers crossed I can keep up with future comments–at least for a weeks Also, since I’ve received at least half a dozen questions on where I buy a lot of the earrings I wear, here is the shop I’m obsessed with–Bella Anela Jewelry–which I’ve mentioned before (here, where you can also see my other favorite Etsy shops, and you can see my Etsy profile for even more).
How are you? Has started to feel like spring in your part of the world? It’s shaping up to be a lovely day here–not too warm, not too cold–and we’ll be going for a walk around the neighborhood later on to get out of our office chairs and take a moment to enjoy the nice weather. Shaun made his now-famous omelettes this morning for what is quickly becoming our Sunday morning tradition. I also indulged in two mini Cadbury eggs in the spirit of Easter (one of my favorite Easter treats and the only one I allowed myself this year). I think next year I’m going to take plastic eggs and fill them with dog treats and make Mellan hunt for them. Has anyone done that with their dog before?
I feel like time is flying by. The weekend arrives, and though we work seven days a week, the weekend still seems slightly different (probably because my inbox is eerily quiet) and for the past couple of months, I get this, “Wasn’t it just the weekend?” feeling every weekend. We made (well, Shaun) omelettes this morning with asparagus, spinach, mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes–Shaun totally nailed them this morning. I spread a little goat cheese on top for some tang. It’s one of my favorite things we do each week (we also do a nice dinner out at our favorite local restaurant on Saturday evenings), because it’s a very low-key, relaxing way to spend the morning. Somehow, I’ve already exhausted Mellan, because he spent the better part of the past two hours at my feet, underneath my desk, snoring loudly.
