The Colour Core Moisture Stain is designed to be both a lip stain and lipstick with full color coverage and a moisturizing formula. It’s also supposed to be long-wearing without bleeding or feathering. The texture is soft, barely creamy, but somehow still manages to glide across lips easily and deposits opaque color with little product. Paris wore for six and a half hours, and there was a residual stain that lingered noticeably for another hour after that. My lips felt hydrated both during and after wear.
I also want to note something I’ve found common with these lipsticks: more often than not, the tip of the lipstick is slightly smooshed upon arrival. It might be an overfilling problem that occurs during manufacturing, but it’s not just one but more like every other one where this problem occurs.
It's a darker pink that still retains a lot of brightness--but it's not neon or electric--and there's some magenta, but not so much that it turns purple. It's a great pick for summer, and the formula is moisturizing and long-wearing, just as advertised!

This formula is supposed to be part lip stain, part moisturizer with full color coverage. It’s also described as long-wearing and won’t bleed or feather. I think what surprised me most about the product was that it was moisturizing, but the texture is not at all what one would associate with a hydrating formula–it almost felt a little dry. There’s no high-shine, slip, or anything like that, which are usually characteristics of formulas marketed as ultra hydrating. Instead, the texture is creamy, fairly lightweight, and glides on easily but doesn’t slip around. Fiji wore for five and a half hours when I tested it. It does last through some drinking (of coffee, because this sentence sounded all kinds of wrong without that clarification) as well.
One of the things I’ve noticed with Le Metier de Beaute’s Colour Core range is that one out of three seem to have a smashed tip. I’m not sure what’s going on during production/quality control, but I have more than a few that have had this problem. I’m guessing that the lipstick is being overfilled so that when the cap is put on during manufacturing that it smashes the tip down. The tube itself is a rubberized black plastic tube, so there are no fingerprints to see and the tube is easily held.
This is a lovely just-warmed-up pink that will flatter neutral and warmer complexions really nicely. The formula is extremely moisturizing but doesn't have any of the slip-factor that you'd expect, so it actually wears well--five and a half hours.
