Guerlain Giuliana Rouge G Lipstick
Guerlain Giuliana Rouge G Lipstick

The Summer Season: Guerlain Giuliana Rouge G Lipstick

Guerlain Giuliana (#42) Rouge G Lipstick ($45.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a brilliant shade of orange-coral. It’s almost all orange, but it’s not quite a full-blown orange. This was definitely a love-at-first-swatch kind of shade. I saw it in the tube, and I wasn’t too excited, but on the lips? Oh, it’s gorgeous! It has such a beautiful subtle golden shimmer topped with this vibrant shade of orange that doesn’t pull too orange. The Rouge G formula is just icing on the cake, because the color itself is so spectacular.

I’m not typically a big fan of orange-based shades on my lips, but this could easily be my favorite–let’s not be hasty, this is only the kick-off of the Summer Season!

P.S. – For whatever reason, it’s not spelled correctly at a lot of retailers – it’s called “Guliana,” but the name on my lipstick case is “Giuliana.”

The Spring Season: Guerlain Garance Rouge G Lipstick

Guerlain Garance (06) Rouge G Lipstick ($45.00 for 0.12 oz.) is this mix of coral and pink with a hint of beige/nude. It’s not quite a coral, but it’s not a true pink… and it’s muted by an almost pinky-nude shade. I wasn’t even sure if this was better classified as a spring season shade or perhaps more suitable for summer, because it seems too summery for spring yet not quite summery enough for summer! Maybe it’s best to call this a nice transitional shade that can be worn easily in the spring or summer. It has a glossy sheen, creamy but lightweight texture, and very subtle sparkle. It also gave my lips nearly opaque coverage, but the application itself was incredibly even and smooth.

The Spring Season: Guerlain Guerlinade Rouge G Lipstick

Guerlain Guerlinade (01) Rouge G Lipstick ($45.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a creamy, opaque peach-nude with a glossy sheen. I have tried my fair share of Rouge Gs, but this shade in particular really showcases the Rouge G formula to its fullest potential. It’s soft, lightweight, but oh-so-creamy. It delivers incredible full coverage color in a single layer and wears a solid four hours on my lips. Guerlinade may become one of my go-to nudes for smoky eyes. I can’t believe I had never bothered to take a look at it prior to the Spring Season–thank goodness that’s been rectified!

The Spring Season: Guerlain Gabrielle Rouge G Lipstick

Guerlain Gabrielle (#60) Rouge G Lipstick ($45.00) is a pink nude with champage shimmer and a glossy sheen. It’s a creamy, moisturizing formula that clings to lips and lasts four to six hours on me. Gabrielle is probably on of the sheerest shades of Rouge G in the line-up, but it still gives good coverage (you can barely see the freckle on my bottom lip) while giving you that lightweight/sheerer look.

The Spring Season: Guerlain Georgia Rouge G Lipstick

Guerlain Georgia (#62) Rouge G Lipstick ($45.00) is a rosy, pretty-in-pink lipstick with a slight glossy sheen and no real shimmer. It applies opaque with just one or two light layers and really hugs your natural lip. Rouge Gs really do have a fantastic formula for those who can afford to indulge in it at such a hefty price tag. The packaging is, in my opinion, makes up for most of the price difference between Guerlain’s Kiss Kiss Lipstick and Rouge G Lipstick. It’s kind of a spage age packaging and weighs quite a bit (so on one hand, it feels like “Ohh, quality!” but then again, you don’t want to carry five of these in your purse). I get about four to six hours of wear with Rouge Gs, and they do have Guerlain’s sweet strawberry-ish scent, though I feel like it’s not quite as potent as their normal lipstick and gloss range.

Guerlain Gardenia Rouge G Lipstick

The Spring Season: Guerlain Gardenia Rouge G Lipstick

Guerlain Gardenia Rouge G Lipstick ($45.00) is a softened pinky-beige with a light, glossy finish and nearly no distinguishable shimmer. At first, I thought Gardenia was similar to Cle de Peau #103 Extra Silky Lipstick, but this is significantly warmer and brighter. I think maybe it was just that very creamy, solid color with a glossy sheen that made me connect the two. Of course, at $45, it wouldn’t have been the more affordable option! ;) Rouge Gs are always outstanding in their color pigmentation–very near full coverage in most instances, and the feel of these is amazing. It’s a comfortable lipstick that goes on smooth, creamy, and keeps lips moisturized while its worn. I get four to six hours with these, depending on the shade (lighter ones tend to fade faster).
