Bright and bold with full color coverage and a natural finish, Gracy is more summer than fall, even if it is part of the fall release. The color glides on and hugs lips without feeling clingy, while the formula itself wears for six and a half hours and keeps lips well-hydrated the entire time. I did not experience any feathering or bleeding lip color.
Like the rest of the range, there is a perfume-like scent attached to these but no discernible scent. Each is packaged in a hefty silver metal case that has a flip mirror. I appreciate the sleek design of the case, and it feels very luxe to hold, but from a practical purpose, they’re kind of heavy to keep your bag, and there’s no great way to store them (the top and bottom are curved), and they do hold fingerprints.
If you love bright corals with some darkness to them, you'll like Gracy. It feels very summery to me, partially because corals are so often part of one's summer routine, but also the level of brightness in the shade.

New but also permanent, Gisela is reminiscent of those gold-shimmered reds you see pop up around the holidays, but there’s a little more orange in the red that it reads more autumnal. I think of the changing colors of leaves and fireplaces when I see this color. The color coverage is opaque with little product, and the consistency is creamy without being heavy or slick. I didn’t have any feathering or bleeding, and Gisela wore for six and a half hours. The formula was hydrating and kept my lips feeling hydrated for a few hours post-wear, too.
Guerlain’s lipsticks have a perfume-y scent but no discernible taste and come packaged in a heavy metal case with a flip mirror. It’s elegant to look at, and initially, very luxe and lovely, but practically speaking, it’s almost too heavy, and they’re a pain to store–plus, it’s hard to read the tiny print on the back of the lipstick to see which shade is what. Oh, and they do hold fingerprints. They can take a beating, though. It’s one of my favorite lipstick formulas ever, but I’ve yet to master storage of them!
It's balanced between fall and holiday, which means it's a more versatile red-orange-gold number that you can downplay or amplify as you wish. The color coverage is fantastic, and the formula itself is comfortable, long-wearing, and hydrating.

It has a fair amount of pigmentation, but there is a lot of translucency. It doesn’t apply as evenly as other Rouge Gs do, though it’s consistent with the other three shades from spring. It doesn’t have the same feel or look as the Rouge G line–it’s much more like the Brilliant formula, because it has a lot more slip and a glossier finish. The richer, more opaque color and creamier consistency is missing. It only wears about two and a half hours on me, and I normally see at least four, often six, with this formula. I’m still bummed over how different these spring shades turned out to be from the rest of the formula.
The texture is soft and very slick; it glides on fairly easily, but it reaches that level of slip where the color moves around too readily and causes uneven color deposit. It’s moisturizing, but it doesn’t seem as moisturizing as many other shades of Rouge Gs have been. I don’t know if it’s because it wears off so much more quickly that gives an illusion of lesser hydration.

Guerlain Rose Ensoleille Rouge G Lipstick ($48.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a soft tangerine orange with hints of pink around the edges. It is a really frustrating color to describe, because there’s a translucency to the color that makes this look just a little different depending on your natural lip color, no matter whether you have very pigmented lips or not. It ended up translating to this warm pink-coral once applied. Bobbi Brown Nude Rose reminded me of this in color, but it’s a bit darker and opaque. MAC Flamingo is lighter, less pink. Chanel Flirt is very similar. MAC Blossom Culture is pinker.
I’ve mentioned this before when reviewing another shade from the spring collection, but the formula of this Rouge G doesn’t feel like the typical Rouge G. It feels more like a cross between the Rouge G and Rouge G de Brilliant formulas. It’s too glossy, too translucent to be a genuine Rouge G, which has a creamier, more opaque formula. Rouge G de Brilliant is all about a really high shine finish combined with a pretty little translucent color and a fair amount of shimmer. Rose Ensoleille is more pigmented than the Brilliants, but it’s not nearly as pigmented as the regular Rouge Gs. This has a fair amount of slip to it, and the finish is much glossier. It seems to wear away faster, too, because Rouge Gs are more long-wearing (four to six hours, sometimes longer, if it’s a deeper hue), but Rose Ensoleille only lasted for three and a half hours during a wear test.
The shorter wear time and less-than-opaque color coverage makes it out of sync with other Rouge G shades. I was a bit bummed after purchasing it, just because the consistency and coverage weren't as expected.

Guerlain Rose Barbare Rouge G Lipstick ($48.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a soft, strawberry pink with subtle shimmer and a glossed finish. The color coverage is semi-opaque, delivering some color but not enough to cover my lip freckle. Chanel Charme is lighter and frostier. MAC Cheers All Around is more opaque but similar. Rimmel Dizzy is brighter and more opaque.
This has a really creamy consistency that’s translucent and lightweight; it feels like a cross between the Rouge G and Rouge G de Brilliant formulas, rather than a Rouge G. I find Rouge Gs to have a creamier feel that’s more opaque and has less slip. This shade looks a bit wet on, which is a nice effect. It’s a moisturizing formula, but unlike a lot of other Rouge Gs, it only wears for three hours before fading away. I think the sheerness of the shade has made it less long-wearing compared to other shades.
It's not the most inspiring shade from Guerlain, and the shorter wear time and less-than-opaque color coverage makes it out of sync with other Rouge G shades.

Guerlain Spring 2012: Rose Innocent Rouge G Lipstick
Debuting in January, Guerlain Rose Innocent Rouge G Lipstick ($48.00 for 0.12 oz.) is pale pink with subtle yellow undertones. This shade is limited edition from Guerlain’s spring collection, and it is one of four Rouge Gs–I’ll have reviews on the other three as soon as I can buy them. It’s almost a neutral pink, but the color itself is very light–it’s just a pink-tinted version of my natural lip color. Very my-lips-but-better kind of shade, so it may be rather superfluous on someone with more pigmented lips or else serve as a way to lighten them a shade or two. OCC Femme is an opaque version of this shade. MAC Dress It Up is a cooler-toned pink. MAC Royal Azalea is similar in lightness but is a touch cooler toned. MAC Behave Yourself is a bit darker and bluer.
This is the kind of shade that someone will love and wear everyday or one where someone just doesn’t see the point. The color coverage is semi-opaque (you can just barley see my lip freckle), but there’s a general translucency throughout the product that lets my natural lip color peek through. Rose Innocent feels more like a Rouge G Brilliant than your typical Rouge G, because it has more slip and natural glossiness, but it’s not quite as glossy (and definitely not as sheer) as a Brilliant. The color doesn’t apply as evenly, and I expect it’s due to the slip in the texture. It only wore for three hours on me, which is decent for this type of light color, though I tend to get better wear out of the Rouge G formula than that. It is very hydrating and comfortable to wear, though.
Not the best Rouge G shade I've come across; the Rouge G formula is a favorite, but this shade doesn't wear as long and the color doesn't deposit as evenly as the majority of the range.
