More Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadow with #3

Giorgio Armani Purpura (3) Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadow ($32.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a metallic, silver-threaded plum purple with multi-colored shimmer that is dominated by indigo, violet, and gold flecks.  It was sheerer when I used it dry and really intense when applied wet.

The texture of these feels almost like a cream eyeshadow, but it has the thinness of a powder eyeshadow while retaining some of the blendability of the hybrid cream-powder eyeshadow.  It also works well with other eyeshadow (see this look using #6).  It’s almost like a really dense loose powder that’s been pressed down, because if you dig at it, it loosens.

Though pricey, each shade comes with 0.14 oz. worth of product, which is a hefty amount (normal eyeshadow averages around 0.05 oz., no matter the price).  The only aspect I didn’t love was the little black stopper inside the jar (once you unscrew the black lid), because my longer fingers felt awkward grabbing it (so I just unscrew it upside down so it falls into the cap).

I thought the way the multi-colored shimmer reflected and sparkled against the plummy background worked really well. I wish it was just a bit more pigmented when used dry, though!

Giorgio Armani Blast of Blue (1) Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadow ($32.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a mix of violet-meets-indigo blue and medium-dark, metallic gold that creates a blend of a dusty, bluish purple with a gold-tinged sheen and sprinkling of gold shimmer.   When I applied it dry, the gold seemed to shimmer more, while when I applied it wet, the purple dominated.  As soon as this popped up on the website, I knew I had to order it–so glad I did!

This shade is really interesting, because it ends up being an unexpected mix of the two colors--but you can still see flecks of each.

Giorgio Armani Sweet Fire (7) Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadow ($32.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a soft, rosy pink with a metallic sheen.  It’s a much more wearable pink than you often seen, because it is less vibrant and reflects more of the natural pink found in the skin.  I did feel like the color in the pot didn’t match the result when used–it looks pinker, less rosy, so it is a little misleading.

This is a product that lives up to its claims–it wears all day without budging, creasing, or fading–and blends as well on its own as it does with other eyeshadows (or on top of an eyeshadow base). Giorgio Armani describes the Eyes to Kill Intense formula as neither powder nor cream but a hybrid that creates a “smooth, lasting color film” that can be applied wet or dry.  Giorgio Armani explains, “Each shade is intensified with a second pigment for a multi-dimensional effect. In just one swoop, create a wet, shimmering smokey eye … Base color covers eyelid, and second pigment adds drama to the contour.”

If the color in the pot matched the actual color swatched, it would have been a higher rated product, so take that into consideration--if the softer pink is more your style, then it works out for you!

Giorgio Armani Rock Sand (9) Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadow ($32.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a warm, golden champagne with a little beige and bronze finished with a metallic sheen.  I liked this one better dry than wet, just because it seemed to give a smoother finish when applied dry.  As one of the lighter shades of the line-up, it seems less intense, but in reality, I think it’s merely the color’s natural lightness that gives that illusion, because it covers my skin fully so it’s not sheer.

The eyeshadow can be worn alone, as a base, on top of bases, with other eyeshadows, and so on and so forth.  They’re really versatile products, and when I wore this as a wash (without a base), I had no creasing or fading after twelve hours.  It has a really interesting texture, too, because it almost feels like a cream, kind of wet, very smooth, but it’s a really tightly packed loose powder.  You can use it wet or dry, and you can use fingers or brushes, though I tend to use a brush (I like MAC’s 239 or 242).

Though pricey, each shade comes with 0.14 oz. worth of product, which is a hefty amount (normal eyeshadow averages around 0.05 oz., no matter the price).  The only aspect I didn’t love was the little black stopper inside the jar (once you unscrew the black lid), because my longer fingers felt awkward grabbing it (so I just unscrew it upside down so it falls into the cap).

I only took away half a point from texture since it didn't apply as smoothly wet as it did dry, but it's a really minor thing that I really don't think takes away from how well this wears.

Pretty in Pink Turns Silver!

Giorgio Armani Moonlight (12) Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadow ($32.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a bright, metallic silver with a subtle blueness.  It’s interesting how it looks pink and silvery-blue in the pot, but once applied, it’s this grayer silver but still with noticeable blue in it.

Giorgio Armani Champagne (8) Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadow ($32.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a darkened pink-tinged champagne with a bright, metallic sheen.  This is the first Eyes to Kill Intense shade that I felt worked better wet than dry, in terms of color pay off, but I can see many falling in love with the sheerer, dry version for a quick wash of brightness on the lid (especially since these wear all day even without a base).
