This particular shade had larger shimmer particles than a lot of the other Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadows have, which results in a greater sparkle effect, though it’s not quite as smooth. When applied dry, it doesn’t bind together as well as I’d like to see, and it comes out looking a little faded compared to the pot color and the way it looks when applied dampened. It takes on a darker brown base color when it is applied wet, though the color will stay looking the same way even when it dries down.
#28 has a drier texture–you can even tell in the pot, as it arrived kind of crumbled along the edges. You can use the plastic stopper included in the pot to press it back down, but it’s not as well-bound as the other shades. As a result, the color just doesn’t adhere as well when used dry. It takes some added moisture to make it come together. When I wore it to test the wear, it managed a full eight hours without fading or creasing, and I didn’t see any fall out underneath my eye, despite the sparkly finish.
The impeccable wear certainly helps keep the overall rating afloat, despite some texture and color payoff problems. This shade really has to be used wet to be worth considering--the performance dry leaves something to be desired.

On the surface, it lacks some of the depth and interplay of colors that makes the formula standout in a sea of eyeshadows. In person, it’s a little different–yeah, the color is dupeable–but the finish is absolutely sparkling with winking shimmer and micro-glitter (it doesn’t even feel or look like glitter). Very glitzy in a no-fallout kind of way; not sure it’s a must-have, because the color is still more common than uncommon, but it’s something worth swatching if you’re near a counter.
The texture is finely-milled, soft, and smooth. The color payoff was good both dry and wet, though a little darker and smoother when applied wet. I tested this shade on the inner half of the lid (with #28 on the outer half of the lid), and the wear was impeccable–no creasing, fading, or fall out over an eight hour period.

Looking at the color overall, I think it’s less nuanced than some other shades by the brand (but more nuanced than some of their least impressive–color-wise–shades, too). It’s somewhere in-between full of depth and more readily duped. It’s a gorgeous shade, but judging by the number of similar shades I was able to pull out, it’s not uncommon.
I love when these types of products apply with full color coverage both dry and wet. It just makes it a much more versatile product. When it’s used dry, it is lighter, less burgundy-tinted. When it’s applied damp, it smooths out a wee bit more, and it takes on a deeper mauve/plum coloring.
The texture is finely-milled, soft, and applies smoothly both wet and dry, though slightly smoother when applied wet as the product pulls together better. When I tested it out for wear, it lasted a full twelve hours with no fading or creasing.

The color payoff seemed lackluster when applied dry, but it was a little better (decent to good) when applied to the lid with a brush. When applied damp/wet, it’s much better, though–totally opaque, the richness of the blackened base color comes through, and the finish becomes more metallic. When it’s used dry, it has a more muted appearance, because the base color appears more charcoal-like. The color is impressive when used damp or over a primer, and if you only use it dry, you might find it lacking. #25 wore well–a solid twelve hours–with no signs of fading or creasing.
A good shade--great, even, if you only plan to use it damp--but it could benefit from just a little more payoff during dry application (which is one of the application methods suggested).

I may have raved about this formula last time (with #24), but not all is equal in the range, and there are some less-than-stellar shades. I haven’t come across a really big flop, but this is likely one of the least impressive shades I’ve tried. #29 lacks pigmentation; it has decent color payoff, but it’s not intense, and it’s not fully opaque. It was difficult to apply, which is really where I had trouble–it bunches up! It just does this thing where it gathers over itself rather than smoothing out for an even layer of color. It happened when I used it wet as well as dry, though it was worse when I used it wet.
The wear was decent to good, though it was harder to tell, because it already gathered noticeably and highlighted the creases I have in my inner lid area from the get-go. After twelve hours, it didn’t fade, but the creasing did seem to get a little more noticeable over time and the product seemed to migrate upwards slightly. It’s not what I’d call consistent with past shades I’ve tried at all, and for that, such a let-down.
This may be the most disappointing shade I've tried from the Eyes to Kill Intense line-up, where the majority have been good to great but #29 really falls short. It has a tendency to move and bunch up on itself, which gives a very uneven result in color.

The first time I tried this formula, I was beyond impressed. I fell in love! While there are lots of products I love and like, I don’t fall head-over-heels-in-love with formulas all. the. time. I’m one of those people who find it hard to pick favorites! Anyway, huge fan of the formula, love lots of shades, but a few of the more recent released shades have left me a little cold. Not that they were awful, they just weren’t as excellent.
Ahh, but #24 kicks off the new set of six Eyes to Kill Intense shades with a bang! It’s decidedly complex with a delicious mix of khaki, olive, green, brown, copper, and brown. It’s a shade that will change based on what you pair it with; pair it with strong greens, it’ll pull out the green tones, but pair it with a bronze, and you’ll see the copper shimmer surface. I was thrilled that I was finally seeing a more nuanced shade. I think the formula is fantastic, but the price point is painful, so the more original the color, the softer that blow to the wallet is.
I tested #24 for sixteen hours, and it was pristine. I wore a few of these in Vegas, in 110-115 degree heat, walking around, no primer, and they were still immaculate–no fading, creasing, fallout, or the like. This particular shade has excellent color payoff wet and really good pigmentation dry; it takes on a more metallic finish and looks more green than brown when it is used damp/wet. The texture is soft, finely milled, but buttery and dense. It’s tightly compacted loose powder that almost feels like it still has some moisture in it. For those who haven’t seen past posts, the texture and feel are similar to L’Oreal Infallibles (L’Oreal also owns Giorgio Armani, FYI!) – the color ranges have seemed to be more different than the same, which is great if you love the formula – more shades to have!
