Estee Lauder Wild Blossom Pure Color Lipstick
Estee Lauder Wild Blossom Pure Color Lipstick

Estee Lauder Wild Violet Collection: Wild Blossom

Estee Lauder Wild Blossom Pure Color Lipstick ($24.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a light-medium pink-beige with soft, pale gold micro-shimmer hidden within a creamy finish. It’s opaque on my lips, and the lightness of the color does make it seem creamier than other shades from this launch.

my thoughts on the formula: The coverage is excellent, and it feels lightweight despite its pigmentation. It’s also more moisturizing than your average lipstick, which makes it comfortable to wear. I get about five hours of wear with this shade in particular, because it is more pigmented. Estee Lauder’s lipsticks are scented with a lightly sweetened fig but are taste-free to me.

Estee Lauder Untamed Violet Eyeshadow
Estee Lauder Untamed Violet Eyeshadow

Estee Lauder Spring 2011: Untamed Violet

Estee Lauder Untamed Violet Eyeshadow ($20.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a new and limited edition shade of cool-toned violet with soft flecks of gold shimmer. It is part of Estee Lauder’s Wild Violet collection for spring. The shade itself should suit cool skin tones with ease, and warmer skin tones can make it work by pairing it with warmer shades.

my thoughts on the formula: Pure Color Eyeshadow is very soft and smooth but not powdery and has no fall out. With a nice level of pigmentation, the shadow is easy to work with.

Estee Lauder Untamed Violet Eyeliner

Estee Lauder Wild Violet: Untamed Violet

Estee Lauder Untamed Violet Double Wear Eye Pencil ($19.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a deep dark violet with iridescent purple shimmer strewn through the colored base. It applies smoothly and goes on opaque without having to layer, and it lasts all day on my lower lash line (since it has shimmer, I didn’t wear it on my water line). I wouldn’t describe it as particularly creamy, even though it had a good glide. The formula is comparable to Urban Decay’s 24/7 Eye Pencils, though.  It is a darker purple with less iridescence than Urban Decay Ransom, but it is comparable to Urban Decay Lust, which is slightly bluer and doesn’t have as much sheen.

  • Product: 27/30
  • Value: 8/10

final thoughts: The cooler undertones of this shade help to brighten eyes, so it is a nice shade to wear alone for a less-is-more kind of look, because it will brighten the whites of your eyes.

Estee Lauder Wild Fire Pure Color Lipstick
Estee Lauder Wild Fire Pure Color Lipstick

Estee Lauder Spring 2011: Wild Fire

Estee Lauder Wild Fire Pure Color Lipstick ($24.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a deep orange with a hint of coral; it’s not your typical orange–it has more depth and interest to it.  It’s not a neon orange, but this shade is certainly vibrant.  It’s opaque in color coverage with a slight glossy finish.  It really has impeccable coverage, though; very rich and requires no layering–one swipe and voila!

my thoughts on the formula: The coverage is excellent, and it feels lightweight despite its pigmentation. It’s also more moisturizing than your average lipstick, which makes it comfortable to wear. I get about five hours of wear with this shade in particular, because it is more pigmented. Estee Lauder’s lipsticks are scented with a lightly sweetened fig but are taste-free to me.

  • Value: 8/10
  • Ease of Use: 4/5
  • Packaging: 4/5

final thoughts: This will be flattering on medium-to-dark complexions with warm undertones, because it does lean warm and the vibrancy makes it most suitable to deeper skin tones.  I do think that lighter skin tones can pull it off, but the importance of balance in the look will increase.

Estee Lauder Spring 2011: Wild Violet Lipstick

Estee Lauder Wild Violet Pure Color Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a berried dark pink with fuchsia and violet micro-shimmer strewn through the near-opaque color. It has a soft shine in the finish along. It is a new and limited edition shade from Estee Lauder’s spring collection.

my thoughts on the formula: The coverage is excellent, and it feels lightweight despite its pigmentation. It’s also more moisturizing than your average lipstick, which makes it comfortable to wear. I get about five hours of wear with this shade in particular, because it is more pigmented. Estee Lauder’s lipsticks are scented with a lightly sweetened fig but are taste-free to me.

  • Product: 29/30
  • Value: 8/10
  • Ease of Use: 4/5
  • Packaging: 4/5

final thoughts: Estee Lauder’s Pure Color Lipsticks have a creamy, moisturizing formula with richer, near-opaque shades.  Wild Violet is a beautiful way to wear pink and fuchsia without going for a full-on neon shade.
