Christina Applegate @ 61st Primetime Emmy Awards 2009
I’m a big fan of Christina Applegate (way back in the Kelly Bundy days!), and I think minimal makeup definitely suits her well. I feel like her eyes are lined too heavily — do you?
Very simple, toned-down makeup. I like seeing natural-looking lashes, too. I wouldn’t have minded seeing a bolder–perhaps red–lip to complement the gold dress. What’d you think?
Ohh, looking much better at the Emmys than she did (in my eyes, at least!) at the VMAs last weekend. This look gives her a sophisticated edge, but it isn’t so heavy that it ages her. She is far braver than I — the idea of wearing red lipstick with a white (or slightly off-white) dress makes me shake.
It’s always fun to see long, flowy fairytale-esque dresses, if only because I don’t think I’ll ever have occasion that would merit such a dress (beyond my wedding, perhaps). The makeup is quite understated, but I’m not really feeling the reddish-brown eyeshadow.
Looks like red dresses are all the rage this Emmy season, yeah? How many have we seen so far? I can appreciate how risque this dress is. Talk about a plunge!
I love Hayden’s classic look – the red lips with a slight opal sheen look fantastic on her and give her a little more maturity (but not making her look old). I like the lashes they used, too — feathery and noticeable without being over the top. I’m not a fan of the dress, though; I think it makes her look heavier than she is. What about you?
