Dior Pareo (644) Mono Eyeshadow ($29.00 for 0.07 oz.) is tangerine orange with a subtle golden shimmer. It’s just bright enough to be a bolder shade, but it’s muted enough that it isn’t a neon orange. Dior Aurora #5 is darker, more shimmery. MAC Fresh Daily is a touch more copper. Milani Orange Primary Runway Eyes is more shimmery. NARS Ramatuelle is darker and more muted.

The eyeshadow had good color payoff, and while the texture was soft and finely-milled, it was noticeably powdery both in the pan and applied.  It’s really vital that you remember to lightly tap your brush against your forearm or over the pan to minimize fall out during application.  The color is also better patted on, rather than swept, and though pigmented, has a tendency to blend out very, very quickly.  I like applying it, then working the rest of the colors into the look, and then going back to add more color and blend it with the rest of the shades.  When I wore it, Pareo lasted seven hours but was noticeably faded after eight hours (no primer).

	It's definitely a case where the eyeshadow looks better in the pan--and even swatched--than it performs in action. It's a little more demanding as a result of its powdery texture: sheers out too quickly and has a tendency to fade faster than other shades.

Dior Bow (887) Mono Eyeshadow ($29.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a bright pop of medium-dark pink with subtle blue undertones and a satin-like finish–just a dusting of shimmer. Urban Decay Noise is cooler-toned (more fuchsia) and frosted. Guerlain Terra Azzurra #2 is very nearly the same in color but has more of a matte finish. MAC Tease with Ease is slightly cooler-toned.

It’s not yet released stateside but should be popping up in the next few weeks (several of the more neutral shades are already available). Bow had good color payoff, and the texture was very soft, finely-milled, and smooth. It was a touch powdery, but since the formula can also be applied wet, then dampening the brush prior to applying would help alleviate the slight powderiness. The pigmentation was the same both wet and dry, though it is easier to sheer out when applied dry.  On the lid, it blends easily, and it can be sheered out or patted on for more opaque color payoff. When I wore this shade, it lasted for eight hours without creasing, and there was faint signs of fading after nine hours (no primer).

	There's something that's still really fun about seeing higher-end brands like Dior embrace pops of color like Bow. It had good color payoff, and I liked that you could use it both wet and dry.
