Dior Paradise (732) Addict Gloss
Dior Paradise (732) Addict Gloss

Dior Paradise (732) Addict Gloss ($29.50 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is a coral-red with pink and gold sparkle. Revlon Papaya has a similar coral coloring but doesn’t have the sparkle. Guerlain Frizzy Mango is a bit lighter and has finer shimmer. Guerlain Candy Stripe is slightly warmer and doesn’t have the same sparkle. Burberry Cameo Pihnk is pinker and has finer sparkle. See comparison swatches.

Paradise is a happy comprise for those who want color but still like to layer their glosses. The color payoff is semi-opaque but definitely not sheer; between the tinted base color and the healthy dose of sparkle, there’s plenty of oomph to make it wearable on its own. There’s still translucency, though, so it can be layered over another lip product to create something slightly different (and certainly, sparklier). The texture is almost gel-like; not too thin or too thick, not at all sticky, and even better: all of that sparkle doesn’t travel to parts unknown. Paradise lasted four hours on me, which is about average, and was nicely hydrating during the time I wore it.

Dior Dolly Pink (453) Addict Gloss
Dior Dolly Pink (453) Addict Gloss

Dior Dolly Pink (453) Addict Gloss ($29.50 for 0.21 fl. oz.) is a medium pink with subtle cool undertones and a pearly shimmer. Guerlain Cherry Pink is cooler-toned, less shimmered. Guerlain Cherry Swing is darker. Chanel Venus is pinker. Urban Decay Trashed is similar.

It has semi-sheer color coverage, and a lot of what you can see is visible shimmer, as it coats lips in a pearly shimmer-sheen finish. The pink coloring tints and amplifies the natural pink tones of my lip color. If you have redder or more pigmented lips naturally, you’ll find this looks rather different on you, due to the sheerness. Dolly Pink lasted three and a half hours on me, just shy of average. The consistency is lightweight, on the thinner side, non-sticky, and doesn’t feel gritty (even as the gloss wears away and the shimmer remains).

It's a comfortable gloss that's somewhat hydrating and wears away slightly faster than the average gloss. It's non-sticky, and the shimmer doesn't travel while the gloss is worn.

Dior No Angel (353) Addict Gloss
Dior No Angel (353) Addict Gloss

Dior No Angel (353) Addict Gloss ($29.50 for 0.21 fl. oz.) is a subtle, warm-toned, peach-pink with multi-colored pearl (mostly ranging from copper and peach). MAC Summer Sweetheart is warmer, creamy, and shimmer-less. MAC Warm Embrace is similar but more opaque applied. MAC Floating Lotus is slightly pinker.

Applied, it adds warmth, shimmer, glossy shine, and lightens my natural lip color just slightly. The color itself appears semi-sheer, so it’s the kind of shade that will look different applied depending on your natural lip color. I could see this complementing a lot of the richer coral lipsticks on the market. The formula is supposed to feel featherweight, contain Hyaluronic spheres that “keep lips smooth and moisturized,” and also has “mirror-like micropearls [that] reflect light.” It is very comfortable to wear with a thin, lightweight consistency that is lightly hydrating and never feels gritty. The shimmer doesn’t travel during wear, though the wear time could be improved upon–I was only able to get wear of a mere two and a half hours with this particular shade.

Dior Ambre Lumiere (227) Addict Gloss
Dior Ambre Lumiere (227) Addict Gloss

Dior Ambre Lumiere (227) Addict Gloss ($29.50 for 0.21 fl. oz.) is described as “peach copper shimmer.” It’s a warm-toned, medium copper-brown with peach and gold shimmer. MAC Get Rich Quick is similar but has less shimmer. Revlon Rosegold is a touch lighter (almost looks pinker on me). MAC Deliciously Demure is lighter. MAC Hearts-a-Beatin’ is a bit more plum in the base color.

On lips, it looks surprisingly opaque, though it does have translucency to it–the natural lip color will come through, but there is a lot of shimmer so the shimmer makes the gloss appear more opaque. This means that your natural lip color will affect the overall coloring; e.g. if you have redder lips, it will appear almost coral-like on. Dior recently reformulated and relaunched their Addict Glosses, and the formula is supposed to feel featherweight, contain Hyaluronic spheres that “keep lips smooth and moisturized,” and also has “mirror-like micropearls [that] reflect light.” It has a lightweight, gel-gloss hybrid texture that feels smooth and is comfortable to wear, and lasts about four hours on me (about average). The gloss is moderately hydrating, and it doesn’t feel gritty even as the gloss wears away.
