69th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Dianna Agron

A look at Dianna Agron as she walked the red carpet at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California on January 15th, 2012.  Her makeup was done by makeup artist Monika Blunder. For Dianna’s makeup, Monika was inspired by the spring 2012 fashion shows where the makeup was fresh but still very glamorous. Since Dianna’s red Giles dress was so “va va voom,” Monika focused on the lips to be the stand out feature.

Makeup Breakdown

Monika kept Julianna’s skin simple and fresh with a bit of L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup in Light Ivory to give skin a light glow. Since the focus was kept on her lips, only a small amount of L’Oréal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé Blush in Celestial (Pink) was applied to the apples of cheeks.

The bold red lip stole the show; Monika applied L’Oréal Paris Infallible Le Rouge in Bold Bordeaux for lasting shine and pigment. The eyes were highlighted with a hint of L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Iced Latte with Vaseline applied over it to create added shine.

The L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in Black was lightly applied around the rim of the eye and Monika applied several coats of L’Oréal Paris Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara in Black to complete the look

Her hair was styled by Adir Abergel for Frederic Fekkai. Abergel wanted a simple and chic up-do that complimented the beautiful and intricate texture of the dress.

Hair Breakdown

Adir began by applying Fekkai COIFF™ Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel on the roots and rough dried the hair with his hands. Next he braided the hair, applying a small amount of Brilliant Glossing Cream to give it texture and shine. Once the hair was dry, Adir took the braids apart, raked the hair with his hands, and created a deep sweeping part angled towards the back of the head. Adir gathered the hair in the back, creating sections of little twists and ultimately pinning them together. He secured the look with Fekkai COIFF™ Sheer Hold Hairspray

Then, she applied CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige Tendre to even out her skin. To play up Dianna’s blue dress and green hazel eyes, Angela emphasized the eyes. She lined the eyes using CHANEL Illusion d’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Mirifique and CHANEL Stylo Yeux Waterproof Longlasting Eyeliner in Ebène. Then, she used the dark grey and the black shades in the CHANEL Quadra Eye Shadow in Smoky Eyes all over the lids, followed by Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow in Midnight Blue on the lids and under the lower lash line. The brows were perfected with CHANEL Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Brun Naturel and the lashes were finished with CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir. To complete the look, Angela used CHANEL Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Rose Ecrin on the cheeks, followed by Kevin Aucoin The Flesh Tone Lip Pencil in Minimal, CHANEL Rouge Double Intensité Ultra Wear Lip Colour in Rose Morganite, and CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Canotier.

Hair Breakdown

Jenny Cho, Suave Professionals Celebrity Stylist gives Dianna Agron a graceful, romantic up-do. “My inspiration for Dianna was the classic Grace Kelly. I wanted a hint of wave around her face to give her that elegance. Dianna recently cut her hair into a shaggy bob, but anything is possible when you have the right products” says Cho.

  1. Mist Suave Professionals Volumizing Root Boost Spray all over and layer on Suave Professionals Sleek Anti-Frizz Cream for a polished finish. The spray is great for creating texture to give hair some grit. Create a side part and blow dry with a small round brush.
  2. With a medium-sized curling iron, curl the heavy side vertically and pin to cool. Spray each section with Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Lightweight Hold Hairspray.
  3. Spray Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo on the rest of the hair. Take a 1 1/2 inch section in the back and make a ponytail. Tease the ends and pin away.
  4. Tease the crown area and gently brush to create a bump. Mist a little hairspray and incorporate the ends into the bun and pin. Pull the sides into the bun as well.
  5. Once cool, unpin curls and with a small Mason Pearson brush, lightly brush out the curls, creating a soft bend. All you want is a little lift and softness around the front. Mist the whole shape with Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Extra Hold Hairspray for an all-night hold.

Dianna Agron @ 2011 Grammys

Dianna Agron @ 53rd Grammy Awards

Dianna Agron appearing on the red carpet at the 53rd Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 13th.

Hair How-to

Frederic Fekkai celebrity stylist Adir Abergel started by applying the Fekkai Coiff Strong Hold Volume Mousse to the roots on dry hair and the Fekkai Advanced Silky Straight Ironless Smooth Finish Serum at the ends. Then he hand blow-dried the hair until it was completely dry. Using 1 1/4″ curling iron he curled the hair and pinned it in place starting at hairline all the way to the crown.

Abergel pulled the back of the hair into a sleek chignon at the crown of the head. To finish this look he took the pin curls out and backcombed the roots in order to add volume for the pompadour effect. To keep the backcombing in place, he sprayed Fekkai Coiff™ Sheer Hold Hairspray at the roots. Next, Abergel took the Fekkai Classic Brush and smoothed the top of hair into place.

He completed this look by applying Fekkai Coiff™ Nonchalant Piecing & Forming Wax on to ends of hair to create some separation and sprayed Fekkai Coiff™ Sheer Hold Hairspray to lock in style.

Dianna Agron @ 2011 SAG Awards

Dianna Agron @ 2011 SAG Awards

Dianna Agron had her makeup done by celebrity makeup artist Kate Lee.

Makeup Breakdown

“Dianna wore a vintage CHANEL Haute Couture dress in navy with a black lace overlay. I wanted to make Dianna appear fresh and up to date.” — Kate Lee, Makeup Artist

“I started by using CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Ambre to smoke put the inner lid, then gently blended it onto the upper and lower lash line. I worked over the top with CHANEL Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Cinnamon, a dark burgundy shade. On the inner third of the lid I used grey shimmery tone from the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Enigma. I blended and melted the colours away from the socket. Lashes were curled and given one coat of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir-Brun. I finished off the eye by sculpting Dianna’s brows with Anastasia’s brow pencil and tinted brow gel. I then applied a layer of CHANEL Hydramax + Active Serum, followed by Nars oil free primer. I perfected the skin with CHANEL Vitalumiere Moisture-Rich Fluid Makeup. On the apple of the cheek I used CHANEL Powder Blush in Fresque which is a beautiful peach shade that shines pink and adds a really pretty dimension to the cheek. On the lips I used CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Lip Colour in Romance to add a pop of pink an keep the look youthful!”

Hair Breakdown

“We wanted to merge the vintage and modern look together by doing a double knot in the back and sweeping the bangs to one side so you get a glimpse of the effortlessly undone ‘do from every angle” says Jenny Cho, Suave Professionals Celebrity Stylist.

Add texture to hair by adding Suave Professionals Volumizing Mousse to damp hair. You can be generous with the amount of product – in this case, more is better. Blow dry hair with fingers and a medium size round brush to smooth out the ends. Spray Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo all over, concentrating on the roots for extra texture.

Side part the hair with a tail comb and tease crown for a little extra volume. Apply Suave Professionals Sleek Anti-Frizz Cream to hands and split the hair down the center into two sections. Tie a knot as if you’re tying a bow and secure the first knot with bobby pins and u-pins. Make another knot right under the first, so it’s double knotted, and secure with more pins. Leave the ends out to give it the undone finish.

Sculpt the front by adding more anti-frizz cream and mold the fringe to frame the face. Leave a piece out on one side to add a touch of looseness.

Finish the look with Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Lightweight Hold Hairspray for a natural, moveable finish.
