I’m a big fan of the Extra Silky Lipstick range; it’s lightweight, hydrating, and feels and looks incredible on. With lighter shades like #129, it wears for around four hours, but I have had longer wear (more like six or so) with some of the darker shades–about average for lipsticks for me. This formula is very, very emollient and creamy, so I recommend applying less than you think you need, because otherwise you’ll overapply. It doesn’t look bad, but you’ll waste product and at this price point (and for the quantity you get–about 30% less than the average lipstick), you don’t want to waste any! These are also scent- and taste-free from my experience.
I love how creamy and moisturizing these lipsticks are, and I'm always surprised how much color they impart, because they seem so soft at first, but they really do deliver on pigmentation, too.

The Sultry Season: Cle de Peau #113 Extra Silky Lipstick
Cle de Peau #113 Extra Silky Lipstick ($52.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a reddened brown berry with gold and ruby micro-shimmer in a semi-opaque color base. It is a really nice shade during fall, because it is vampy enough to be deep and dark but not overpowering. This should look amazing on cool-toned beauties!
my thoughts on the formula: Extra Silky Lipsticks are one of my favorite lipstick formulas, for their lightweight feel, moisturizing properties, and the way colors look on. I average around four hours of wear, sometimes getting five, and with lighter shades, between three and four. I haven’t met a shade that wouldn’t work on a variety of skin tones. I recommend applying less than you think, because it’s easy to over-apply the product here due to the creamy nature of the formula. At this price (and the amount you get), you don’t want to waste a single bit! These are also scent- and taste-free as far as I can tell.

final thoughts: If only these had more product in a tube, these would be some killer lipsticks. As is, the formula is amazing, but it’s so easy to use a tube up.
The Sultry Season: Cle de Peau #117 Extra Silky Lipstick
Cle de Peau #117 Extra Silky Lipstick ($52.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a creamy darkened raspberry with a plummy edge. Extra Silky Lipsticks are one of my favorite lipstick formulas, for their lightweight feel, moisturizing properties, and the way colors look on. It hugs lips but never feels drying or clingy; it always looks smooth, lush, and rich. I haven’t met an Extra Silky shade I didn’t find appealing–nearly universally so. The color applies opaque, even though it feels and looks like it might not in the swatch.
I recommend applying less than you think, because it’s easy to over-apply the product here due to the creamy nature of the formula. At this price (and the amount you get), you don’t want to waste a single bit! These are also scent- and taste-free as far as I can tell. I don’t have any exact dupes at the moment, but perhaps as the series progresses, we’ll find something.

The Summer Season: Cle de Peau #101 Extra Silky Lipstick
Cle de Peau #101 Extra Silky Lipstick ($52.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a beautiful shade of coral-orange with soft peach shimmer. It’s a pricey indulgence, but the color is lovely on and the formula is creamy, smooth, and moisturizing. Despite its creaminess, I get about three to four hours of wear, sometimes more, on a shade. It’s a splurge, but it won’t disappoint!

The Spring Season: Cle de Peau #106 Extra Silky Lipstick
Cle de Peau #106 Extra Silky Lipstick ($52.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a creamy softened medium blue-pink with a glossy finish and nearly imperceptible shimmer. Cle de peau’s Extra Silky Lipsticks are absolutely a dream to wear–they’re smooth, soft, creamy, and moisturizing. They don’t steal a single drop of moisture while you wear them, and despite the creaminess and slip of these lipsticks, I still get a good four hours of wear. It has a naturally glossy finish, so they’re easy to wear alone.
Of course, the downfall of Extra Silky lipsticks is their price tag. At over $50 a pop, they’re certainly a luxury lipstick that’s hard to “collect ‘em all.” To make matters worse, you only get 0.07 oz. in each (which is about half of the average lipstick size). Even though they’re quite pigmented, they’re easy to over-apply, so apply less than you think to maximize your purchase!
