Clarins Sunset Rouge Prodige Lipstick ($24.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a brightened tangerine orange with peach and white micro-shimmer and a glossy shine. On my lips, it looks a bit coral-orange. The color coverage is semi-opaque; it delivers a healthy amount of color, but there’s enough translucency that my natural lip color shows through, too. While the texture was smooth overall, it did not apply as evenly as I’d like. It reminded me of Guerlain Orange Euphorique, which is a little brighter and more opaque. Chanel Sari Dore is more opaque and darker. MAC Made to Order is similar but doesn’t have as much gold shimmer.
Clarins Red Prodige Rouge Prodige Lipstick ($24.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a bright, tomato red with a high shine finish and nearly opaque color. The color glides onto lips effortlessly, and it leaves lips with this rich, vibrant color that seems to melt on lips.
Clarins Rosewood Rouge Prodige Lipstick ($24.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a rosy nude with a glistening shine. This is my kind of nude–it doesn’t wash you out or make you look like a corpse. It’s soft and muted, the way a good nude should be, but it still brightens up the face. This is the kind of shade that works well for everyday or paired with a heavier eye/cheek look. I find it more neutral-cool, which makes it a very wearable shade.
Clarins Clementine Rouge Prodige Lipstick ($24.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a vibrant, bright orange with a very fine dusting of yellow-gold shimmer. I get five hours of wear with this shade, so this shade wore better than Blackberry by an hour. I did like that it didn’t seem to leave a stain though. An orange this bright is a shade I would recommend wearing with more minimal makeup, just because it will be the centerpiece of your look given its vibrancy. It is not quite as blindingly neon as MAC’s Morange or Neon Orange, but it sure comes close.
Clarins Blackberry Rouge Prodige Lipstick ($24.00 for 0.10 oz.) is Clarins’ latest in lipstick formulas–it’s supposed to be a long-wearing lipstick with intense color that smooths away lip lines with high shine. Blackberry is an opaque, muted, pinked plum with a glossy shine. It’s actually a lovely shade for fall and winter that’s perfect for the season without being overwhelming.
