Chanel Poudre Signee de Chanel Illuminating Powder
Chanel Poudre Signee de Chanel Illuminating Powder ($68.00 for 0.28 oz.) is described as a “sheer highlighting powder” that creates a “soft pink powder” that can be used to “reflect light with a delicate luminosity.” It’s a pale beige with a soft hint of pink and a golden shimmer-sheen. As described, it’s a soft, sheer powder that works best when dusted over the high planes of the face. Chantecaille Les Petales de Rose is significantly pinker and has a finer shimmer/sheen. MAC Lightscapade is whiter, cooler-toned. theBalm Promiscuous Pearl is more frosted. Chanel Beiges Ombres Tissees is more frosted/metallic but close in color.
Poudre Signee de Chanel is lightly warmed-up, but it has a little pink and beige mix that makes it slightly different than the recent highlighters I’ve reviewed, which have been really pink or really beige in comparison. It gives skin a soft, warm glow that’s not too shimmery, frosted, or metallic. The powder itself is finely-milled with a shimmer-sheen finish, so it’s not completely subtle, but it’s not so shimmery that it emphasizes pores. It sits well on the skin and is easy to blend out and apply to the skin. When I wore this, it lasted seven hours at full-power but looked a little faded after eight hours of wear.
It's a very nice highlighter with a finely-milled powder and soft, refined shimmer and sheen. The lighter base of this shade may turn ashy on darker complexions.

Chanel Emprise Le Vernis / Nail Colour ($26.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is described as a “natural rosy beige.” It’s a warm, not-quite-peachy, beige with very, very fine shimmer. The shimmer only becomes apparent under a lot of light, like flash. There’s a hint of rosiness to the color, too, and I suspect on pinker complexions, it will become more obvious. MAC Style Tip is a touch darker and has no shimmer. Rescue Beauty Lounge Sheer Nude is more beige and has no shimmer. MAC Hangin’ Loose is lighter. Chanel Tendresse is similar–creamier, no shimmer, almost jelly-like. Chanel Peche Nacree is a little darker, warmer.
Emprise is opaque after two coats, and the consistency wasn’t too thick or too thin. The one thing I did notice was that the first coat of color would get pulled a bit (and then look streaky) if you didn’t wait for the first coat to dry down fully. It didn’t bubble or pool along the sides, and it flowed easily across the nail. I typically get a week of wear out of Chanel’s lacquers with minor tip wear but no chipping.
It's an easy-to-wear beige--there's a very fine dusting of shimmer that gives it more interest than a pure cream, but it's so fine that it's hard to see most of the time.
