I’m loving her eye brows – the arch and shape really wow me!
Makeup How-to:
The wig was definitely the focal point of the look so we wanted to balance that bright color out with a dramatic glamorous eye and keep the rest of the colors nude. She wanted a polished chic look. For her face I used Makeup For Ever HD Foundation followed by COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach to give her cheeks a warm glow.
On Katy’s eye I used COVERGIRL Line Exact in Black. I love liquid liner because it allows you to change the shape of an eye, we wanted to create a more almond shape for Katy. Above the black liner, I used the white shade of the COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Onyx Smoke. In her waterline I applied new COVERGIRL LiquiLineBlast in Silver Spark to make the eyes pop. Women tend to be afraid to use liner in the inner eye but it actually balances out a dramatic eye look. To finish the eye I applied multiple coats of COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion in Very Black.
On her lips I used COVERGIRL Outlast Lipstain in Flirty Nude and applied LaMer Lip Balm on top for a touch of shine. Before her performance I punched up the look a bit by adding COVERGIRL LiquiLineBlast in Blue Bloom for a pop of color and COVERGIRL Outlast Lipstain in Everbloom Kiss. Katy loves the Outlast Lipstains because they are great for when she performs; they don’t stick to her hair or microphone and never smudge. — Jake Bailey
I am kind of loving the glamour-industrial chain-link she has going on here.

Celebrity makeup artist Kristofer Buckle did the makeup honors for Christina’s highly-anticipated appearance at tonight’s MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles. Kristofer shared the scoop on Christina’s red carpet look with us.
The mission, says Kristofer, was to give Christina “perfect ivory skin and strong bone structure” to highlight her bold and classic red lip. To start, Kristofer prepped the skin with Lancôme’s new Teint Idole Fresh Wear Foundation in Bisque and Maquicomplet Complete Coverage Concealer in Ivoire (a makeup artist favorite). For the eyes, Kristofer swept YSL Ombre Solo Smoothing Effect Eyeshadow in #2 Cashmere Brown along the crease. Three coats of Hypnôse Drama Mascara in Excessive Black topped the upper lashes and one light coat coated the lower lashes.
For Christina’s glam red pout, Kristofer first lined with Lancôme’s Le Lipstique Lipcolouring Stick in Rougelle, a sheer red liner. Color Design Matte Lipstick in Red Haute delivered the rich dose of red—perfect for the iconic pop star.
Inspiration: A cross between Talouse Latrec’s dancing girls and the watercolor feeling of a Gustav Klimt painting. The day was amazing. The goal was to make sure that her makeup was saturated but not overdone.

Molly Stern, makeup artist, started by prepping the face with Jurlique citrus spray to give the face a healthy lift then she gave Amy a light facial massage with La Mer moisturizing lotion. Next she based her face with YSL perfect touch #2.
Then she blushed her cheeks with Chantecaille Aqua Blush in Frivolous as a peachy base with Chantecaille Sesame peach eyeshadow over top. Her eyes are based with NARS cream eyeshadow in Maracaibo. Over that she blended Shu Uemura shadow in gray 960 mixed with shu uemura shadow in purple 700 all over the lid up into the crease. With a flat shadow brush she added a touch of NARS shadow in Ondine on the inside corner of her lid to give the eye a little gold hint. Molly lined the top and underneath of her eye with Trish McEvoy’s Arabian nights definer. To soften the line underneath she added a soft smudge of Suqqu lavender shadow in #27.
On her lashes she put 1 soft coat of CoverGirl Exact Eyelights Mascara in Black Ruby. On her lip, Molly based her lip with La Mer lipbalm then applied a thin coat of Outlast Lipstain by CoverGirl in Plum Pout. Then a sheer layer of Shu Uemura wine lip color in 265 with a dot of CoverGirl Wetslicks AmazeMint in Plum Crazy at the center of her lip for a little extra pout. That’s also what she took in her bag for touch ups.
I want her skin. It just looks ridiculous smooth and vibrant. I really want to know *her* skincare secrets!

To achieve her naturally beautiful evening look, Celebrity makeup artist, Karan Mitchell, first applied Neutrogena Healthy Skin Glow Sheers in Light to Medium to Vanessa’s already radiant skin.
To set the look and add a hint of shimmer, she then applied Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Blush in in Natural Apricot to the apples of her cheeks, followed by a touch of Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Illuminator.
To create Vanessa’s soft-smoky eye, Mitchell began by applying Neutrogena 3-in-1 Concealer for Eyes in Medium underneath the eye to rid of any dark circles, and on the eyelid as an eye-shadow base. She then used Nourishing Eye Duo in Fairy Dust, applying the darker shade to the crease and then brushing the accent shade over the entire lid up to the brow bone. Mitchell finished by applying two coats of Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara in Carbon Black.
To complement Vanessa’s darker eye, Mitchell applied a mixture of two pink moisture-infused lip colors – Neutrogena MoistureShine Lipstick SPF 20 in Angel’s Blush and Sheer Luck.
