Butter London British Racing Green Nail Lacquer ($14.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is described as a “dark hunter green.” It’s a rich, luxuriously dark cool-toned green with soft emerald green sparkle. I don’t have much like it, which is always something I can appreciate. Illamasqua Kink is the closest in color, but it has such a different finish that the two really aren’t dupes. MAC Jade Dragon would be the next closest, but it’s darker, cooler-toned, and the shimmer is more dominant.
The shade was opaque in two coats and applied without bubbling or streaking. I’ve had good luck with Butter London’s lacquers so far (I’ve tried maybe ten or less?)–they’ve allowed me to add some really phenomenal shades to my stash! British Racing Green is no different! Since it felt like I hadn’t tested the wear of Butter London in awhile, I wore this shade for a week, and I didn’t have any chips, just minor tip wear. I did have some faint staining, even though I used a base coat.
This is the type of green that should look good across skin tones--the overall darkness of it gives it more of a cool-toned look and feel, but warmer skin tones will simply see more of the green pulled out around the edges.

Butter London Thames Nail Lacquer ($14.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) is described as a “soft, blue-green stunner with just a tiny undercurrent of gold.” It’s a rich, luxurious green-teal with subtle shimmer. I didn’t get a lot of gold shimmer, as it seemed more white/silver to me (even in bright light). I was able to achieve opaque color in two coats. The formula was easy to work with, because it wasn’t too thick or thin, flowed evenly across the nail, and didn’t streak. There were a few brush strokes in the resulting look, but they were very subtle. I typically get a week of wear with Butter London’s formula with a proper base and top coat.
The color reminded me of the shimmer in MAC Jade Dragon (which has a very inky green-tinged black base). Duri Paparazzi is the closest dupe I found from my past swatches, but it is much greener (not really a teal at all).
If you love jewel-toned nail colors, Thames is a really lovely shade that intertwines blue and green to create teal, but then sometimes it leans green, sometimes it leans blue.

Butter London Lady Muck Nail Lacquer ($14.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) is described as a “powdery periwinkle blue, slightly on the grey side and infused with pearl pigment for a soft, sexy sheen.” Whew, talk about a description! It’s a dusty, gray-blue with pale silver-white shimmer. It seemed most comparable to Rescue Beauty Lounge’s Concrete Jungle–but Lady Muck has pale silver shimmer. (You can compare this shade against other blues in the Swatch Gallery.)
It was opaque in two coats, and it had a natural sheen to it, though I think the majority will still prefer a shiny top coat on top. Butter London’s formula on this one has a really even flow, smooth application, and drying time wasn’t long at all. I typically get a week of wear with Butter London’s formula with a proper base and top coat.
I’ve always thought of periwinkle as something a little deeper, with more purple in the mix, compared to this dusty, grayed blue. Googling showed a lot of results, some more to what I always imagined as periwinkle, but there were a few variations that leaned bluer, closer to Lady Muck. Don’t you wish there was some standardized language we beauty enthusiasts could converse in? Butter London negates a lot of the traditional view of periwinkle, because it adds powdery, blue, and grey on top of it, which really does seem like what Lady Muck is all about (so no points taken off for color inaccuracy).

Butter London Branwen’s Feather Nail Lacquer ($14.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) is described as a “purple-ish black with loads of depth and shine … like a silky raven’s feather at midnight by the Tower.” After reading the official description, I can see what they mean. It is a very blackened eggplant-y purple with flecks of plum and silver shimmer shot through. It dries slightly shiny, but I would still say you need a top coat to really make it gleam.
I used two coats and there was some underlying streakiness in areas that were more visible in natural light than I expected–I photographed with two coats. I would recommend three coats for opaque, solid coverage. The formula seemed thin, too, which I imagine contributed to the lack of opacity in two coats as well as the streaky second coat. It doesn’t seem consistent with the rest of Butter London’s range (that I have tried, of course), so it was disappointing. I typically get a week of wear with Butter London’s formula with a proper base and top coat.
The formula of Branwen's Feather is nowhere as nice as several other Butter London polishes that I have tried. It required three coats for opaque color coverage, and the formula was streaky and thin.

Butter London Artful Dodger Nail Lacquer ($14.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) is described as a “true teal.” It reads more blue than teal on me; at best, it is a bluish teal. At some angles, I can kind of go with teal being the dominant color, but then in most lighting, it looks like a slightly dusty blue with a touch of teal. What do you think? It seems like teal is a rather subjective color. My initial reaction to this is to say blue, and I’m a gal who likes her teals! I feel like it’s similar to ORLY Bailamos but Artful Dodger is bluer. I’m taking off a point for pigmentation, because I don’t think this matches the description as well as it should.
It’s a beautiful cream finished polish that’s opaque in two coats (one is almost enough). Butter London’s formula on this one has a really even flow, smooth application, and drying time wasn’t long at all. I typically get a week of wear with Butter London’s formula with a proper base and top coat.

Butter London Dosh Nail Lacquer ($14.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) is described as “a molten apple green shot through with metallic gold.” Dosh is British slang for money, according to the description over at beauty.com. It’s a granny smith apple green–chartreuse yet greener. It has flecks of gold and green shimmer in a finish that almost looks like glass to me.
I compared this shade against other greens in the swatch gallery, but it’s really not like anything I have (not to say there may not be a dupe out there, but I don’t know one!). It is a deeper green than Illamasqua Radium, but the way the chunky shimmer looks makes the end result differ significantly.
This had nice color pay off and only required two coats for an opaque result. Most of my experience as of late with Butter London has been with cream finishes, and I’m pleased to report that the shimmer ones apply just as nicely as I remembered–really even flow, smooth application, and drying time isn’t long at all. I typically get a week of wear with Butter London’s formula with a proper base and top coat.
