Burberry Coral Lip Glow Lipgloss
Burberry Coral Lip Glow Lipgloss

Burberry Coral Lip Glow Lipgloss ($27.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a brightened orange with a hint of coral and copper shimmer. MAC Geo Pink is pinker. MAC Eclectic Edge is more orange, darker. MAC So Bad is similar but less shimmery.

As part of an attempt to bring more vibrant/pigmented shades into Burberry’s range, Coral is a nice addition–it’s semi-opaque to mostly opaque with some translucency where the natural lip color will come through but is covered for the most part. It applied evenly and smoothly, without settling into lip lines, or feathering/bleeding during wear. I didn’t have any issues with the shimmer traveling during the four and a half hours this lasted on my lips. It’s somewhat hydrating–not the most hydrating but not at all drying. Burberry’s Lip Glows are non-sticky, gel-like, and are a cushion-y, comfortable gloss to wear that has a light floral scent.

Burberry Pink Sweet Pea Lip Glow Lipgloss
Burberry Pink Sweet Pea Lip Glow Lipgloss

Burberry Pink Sweet Pea Lip Glow Lipgloss ($27.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a vibrant fuchsia pink with subtle cool undertones and iridescent fuchsia micro-shimmer. Estee Lauder Violet Rain is a bit bolder and has a much larger shimmer (more like glitter). MAC Gimme That! is redder. NARS Hot Wired is also redder.

Burberry’s spring shades are an “introduction of radiant colours” to the brand’s beauty range, with Pink Sweet Pea meant to be a “playful” shade. I put that out there, because the Lip Glow formula is also described as “a hint of color” normally. So, good news to those who love more pigmented and opaque glosses, because Pink Sweet Pea is certainly that–semi-opaque to mostly opaque with an underlying translucency that gives the natural lip color an opportunity to peek through. Based on Burberry’s spring/summer collection, which is what the spring beauty range is supposed to have drawn inspiration from, everything is bold, bright, and colorful.

It is a really lovely gloss formula that’s gel-like and cushion-y when worn.  It’s a comfortable gloss to wear, and it’s lightly hydrating–it’s not going to outdo a dedicated lip balm, but it won’t leave you reaching for the nearest lip balm for a few hours post-wear.  It’s non-sticky and it has a floral scent, and while I’ve experienced it at a higher potency in other Lip Glows, it seemed subtler here.  Pink Sweet Pea wore four and a half hours on me.

I'm really happy I bought this shade, because it's such a comfortable gloss to wear. It's also a nice break from some of the softer, more pastel pinks for spring.

Burberry Nude Rose Lip Glow Natural Lipgloss
Burberry Nude Rose Lip Glow Natural Lipgloss

Burberry Nude Rose Lip Glow Natural Lipgloss

Burberry Nude Rose Lip Glow Natural Lipgloss< ($27.00 for 0.20 oz.) is a pink-beige that goes on mostly colorless. It looks like any number of sheer lipglosses that have nearly no perceptible shimmer. At best, it adds very subtle warmth to my natural lip color. At worst, it just adds a healthy dose of glossy shine and makes my natural lip color look more even.  We’re at that line I find hard to rate at:  when is “sheer” too sheer? When does sheer become colorless?

The gloss itself does have sheer color pigmentation, but the color matches my natural lip color so that it does not do much.  For those with more pigmented lips, I suspect it’s going to do as little for you as it did for me.  While I can appreciate that the formula is supposed to have sheerer color coverage, this is the kind of color that one doesn’t need a drawer full of, you know?  If you don’t have a gloss that adds a little shine and warmth, and you’re on the lookout for a non-sticky, hydrating (at least, somewhat), and comfortable gloss, this could work.  It only wore for two and a half hours on me, though, which is below average.  Like other Burberry lip products, it is floral-scented.

Depending on the size of your gloss stash, you may have room for another gloss that doesn't add a lot of color but may feel good to wear. The shorter wear time was disappointing, though.

Burberry Hibiscus Lip Glow Natural Lipgloss
Burberry Hibiscus Lip Glow Natural Lipgloss

Burberry Hibiscus Lip Glow Natural Lipgloss< ($27.00 for 0.20 oz.) is a medium-dark fuchsia pink with just the faintest hint of white micro-shimmer (you really have to look hard to physically see the shimmer!). Dolce & Gabbana Vibrant is richer, pinker, more opaque. MAC Indigo Pink is darker, more opaque. MAC Real Posh is plummier. NARS Bougainville is redder, more opaque, and darker. MAC Radiant Jewels has more shimmer and appears brighter.

Hibiscus has semi-opaque color coverage–it changed my natural lip color significantly, but there was still a lot of my natural lip peeking through. It has a lovely glossy shine that gives lips a fuller look. Burberry’s Lip Glow formula is supposed to be comfortable, reflective, hydrating, and yields sheerer color. The formula is non-sticky, medium in thickness, and feels a little gel-like on the lips (that’s a compliment!). It feels comfortable to wear, and it’s somewhat hydrating. My lips feel good post-wear, but I do need lip balm after an hour or two. It is floral-scented, though, and it’s not subtle–not unpleasant generally speaking, but if you’re sensitive to scents, this may be too much. Hibiscus wore for three and a half hours.

I like the way it feels on lips the most--it's comfortable, slick, and does impart some moisture during the three and a half hours it lasts. There is a smidgen of settling into lip lines but isn't noticeable from a normal viewing distance.

Burberry Cameo Lipgloss
Burberry Cameo Lipgloss

Burberry Cameo (08) Lipgloss ($27.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a beautiful shade of peachy-melon with soft golden shimmer and a nice level of glossy sheen.  It’s semi-opaque, so it delivers a healthy dosage of color to lips, but it doesn’t cover or mask your natural lip color.  Those with redder lips may find that this turns their lips a rather pretty shade of coral, because that natural redness will peek through but be lightened up by the gloss’ coloring.

Burberry’s gloss is non-sticky, not too thin or thick, and feels rather comfortable on lips.  It’s not drying, and it lasts three to four hours on me (on the longer end of gloss for me).  It does have Burberry’s floral scent, though I did not notice it lingering while I wore it, but if you tend to be sensitive to scents, particularly rose or floral ones, this might not be something to pick up scent-un-sniffed.

The packaging is right in line with the brand’s makeup range; the gunmetal, checked cap with a clear tube (so you can see the gloss color).  Burberry didn’t skimp on the product with 0.20 fl. oz., which is about average for designer brands or above average for high-end brands.
