I had all these expectations for this look, but it didn’t quite turn out how I expected it to! I actually wasn’t feeling it, so I ended up removing the eye makeup and doing something else, lol. Have you ever done that? I always think, “What a waste [of makeup]!”

Kind of like last night’s, but I think it’s a variation of it, brighter. I tried to recreate last night’s look so I could do a tutorial for it, but this is what happens when you don’t remember/look up what you actually used and use pictures as reference! It’s amazing what a different color shirt can do to a look. Would you wear this look? Tell me why/why not in the comments!

I used Black Ore solar bits with mixing medium on lid, Goldmine eyeshadow on inner lid, Evening Aura eyeshadow (LE) on middle of lid, Antiqued eyeshadow on outer lid, Carbon eyeshadow on outer lid and crease, Femme-fi eyeshadow (LE) above crease and on brow, Goldmine eyeshadow on inner lash line, Black Ore solar bits (LE) on outer lower lash line, Graphblack technakohl on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Quick look using Solar Bits. Boy, they are a bit messy. I recommend using them BEFORE applying foundation, that way you can wipe away any fall out. I used mine with mixing medium, so once it’s on, it shouldn’t have any (or minimal) fall out, but you will get some bits and pieces that fall out when you initially apply it to the lid. The Solar Bits also smudge a LOT and very easily, so you may want to use makeup remover on a swab to clean up, rather than flicking it away (which generally just smudges it all over your face).
As an aside, the lips for this look are not the ones I’d normally opt for, BUT I wanted to try out my two new Neo Sci Fi lip products anyhoo
I’d usually pair this dramatic eye with nude lips — think Pleasureseeker or Sunsonic and Naked Space together! Since it’s hard to visualize, I included a full face shot of me wearing Strawberry Blonde lipstick with Vital Spark lipglass–something less OTT and more in line with the look.

I used Black Ore solar bits with mixing medium all over lid, Goldmine eyeshadow on inner lid, Antiqued eyeshadow on middle of lid (could substitute Time & Space here!), Carbon eyeshadow on outer lid and crease, Femme-fi eyeshadow (LE) above crease and on brow, Black Ore solar bits on lower lash line, Feline kohl power on lower lash line, Femme-Fi eyeshadow (LE) on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. I wore Other Worldly blush (LE) on cheeks. I had Sci Fi Delity lipstick (LE) with Supreme lipglass (LE) on my lips.

So I know we had a post a few weeks ago about what kind of look would you want to wear but haven’t, and a lot of you mentioned red lips. You’re not alone with having a bit of trepidation when it comes to consideration a red lip–I have plenty! Especially when it comes to deeper, vampy reds. I invite you to take the Temptalia Red Lips Challenge and try out some reds for yourself. If you’d like to post your results, just send them along to temptalia@gmail.com. But I still urge you all to try them out, even if only in the bathroom by yourself!
For my challenge, I chose my arch nemesis: Alta Moda. You can see how Alta Moda looks on its own, but how I attempted to make it more “me” friendly by adding a lipglass on top. Plus, you can see a comparison of this look with and without upper lash liner.

I used Cash Flow paint pot (LE) on lid, Casablanca eyeshadow (LE) on inner and middle of lid, Embark eyeshadow on outer lid, Smut eyeshadow on outer crease, Nylon eyeshadow above crease and on brow, Blacktrack fluidline on upper lash line (in some photos), Graphblack technakohl on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. I had Other Worldly blush (LE) on cheeks with Daisydust beauty powder (PRO) to highlight. I wore Alta Moda prolongwear with clear gloss and Red Romp lipglass (LE) (in some photos) on my lips.

Cash Flow = Patina; Casablanca = Nylon, Other Worldly = Trace Gold; Red Romp = Russian Red
