Bobbi Brown Miami Coral Rich Lip Color ($23.00 for 0.13 oz.) is described as a “nectar.” It looks surprisingly orange in the tube, and even still when swatched (but to a lesser degree), but it’s much pinker on the lips. I actually went back and swatched this just prior to writing out the review, because I was like, “What? This doesn’t look right!” It’s more like a pink coral with warm, yellow undertones once applied. MAC Flamingo is less opaque, less creamy-looking and a touch darker. Chanel Flirt is similar but a little less pale. MAC Blossom Culture is several shades pinker. MAC Ever Hip is similar but a touch less pink.
Bobbi Brown’s Rich Lip Color formula is touted as long-wearing, moisturizing, and have “pure, crisp color.” When it first came out, I was pleasantly surprised; it’s a creamy yet lightweight lipstick that glides on easily and delivers opaque color coverage with very little product. It’s also hydrating enough that lips don’t feel dry after four to eight hours of wear. Not all shades wear the same, as lighter shades tend to fade away after four hours or so, while more intense shades (like a red) can wear six hours or longer. Miami Coral managed to make it four hours when I trialed it.
Miami Coral is a great shade for both spring and summer--it will be an awesome transitional shade, too. Because it's not too orange or too pink, both cool and warm complexions should find this wearable.

I’m a huge fan of Bobbi Brown’s Rich Lip Color–the formula really resonated with me when it initially debuted. The formula is supposed to be long-wearing, moisturizing, and yield “pure, crisp color.” It’s a lightweight lipstick with rich, opaque color payoff. The look is creamy, but there’s not too much slip once applied yet it applies easily and glides over the lips for full color coverage in a single pass. While not all the formula’s shades wear as long, this deeper shade wore well for just over six hours and needed a reapplication after eight hours. My lips didn’t feel dry or parched at all after the eight hours I wore this shade. This lipstick is both scent- and taste-free, which is a nice touch.

Whew — this was difficult! I ended up having to lump some of the new-for-2011 formulas into a single pick, even though there were lots of shades I loved! These are products I reviewed and discovered in 2011, some being part of a brand’s permanent range and others being new/limited edition shades that we saw over the past months. I guess you could say I gravitate towards reds…
Bobbi Brown Soft Nude Rich Lip Color ($22.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “light, nude brown.” It doesn’t read that way to me–I would describe it as a rosy brown. If I wanted to stretch that, perhaps a rosy brown nude, but I don’t know if I’d use the word “light” to describe this. I was expecting more of a soft, peachy-beige kind of color.
Nonetheless, it’s rosy brown in the tube, swatch, and when worn. It delivers opaque color coverage with little product, and it has a creamy finish with a subtle shine. MAC Gem of Roses is a touch pinker. MAC Impressive is a little browner. Bobbi Brown Heather Pink looks very similar on.
The texture is creamy but lightweight, and the wear comes in at five hours. Bobbi Brown’s Rich Lip Colors are scent- and taste-free. This is one of my favorite formulas for creamy, semi-matte lipsticks, because it’s moisturizing, longer-wearing, and opaque in color (which is a personal preference!).
It's a lovely neutral shade to wear--pink, brown--very natural in color and finish. It wears well, while being comfortable, lightweight, and moisturizing.

Bobbi Brown Cosmic Raspberry Rich Lip Color ($22.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “bright pink fuchsia.” It’s a bright, medium-dark pink with a little touch of fuchsia–it is blue-based but subtly so. Bobbi Brown’s Rich Lip Colors are really comfortable to wear with their semi-matte finishes, creamy but lightweight textures, and rich color coverage. They are also scent- and taste-free, which should appeal to some. Wear was anywhere from four to six hours, with deeper shades like Cosmic Raspberry wearing for six hours.
This is the kind of pink that should work on both warmer and cooler skin tones, because the level of brightness makes it pop on all skin tones. Bobbi Brown's Rich Lip Color formula is one of my new favorites and definitely a memorable launch from the year.

Even though Bobbi Brown just released her new Rich Lip Color formula, there’s a new and limited edition shade included in the Peony & Python Collection — Lilac Rich Lip Color Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.12 oz.), which is described as a “light pink tint.” When I swatched it, Lilac is a soft plummy pink with cool undertones, and when worn, it is semi-opaque and looks more pink than plum.
my thoughts on the formula: In general, these are really comfortable to wear, with their semi-matte finishes, creamy but lightweight texture, and rich color coverage. I felt like Lilac was a little less moisturizing than the other shades I have tried within the new range. It lasted just under four hours on me and is scent- and taste-free.
It's a particularly flattering way to wear pink, because it's soft without being pale or pastel--still pink enough to add color to lips but not enough to compete with anything else you wear.
