Benefit Posietint ($28.00) is a lip and cheek stain in a cool, bright pop of pink. The bottle feels very small, but this is a product where less is most definitely more! You need very little — just a little dot on each cheek, then blend either with fingers or a stippling brush (I love the 188 for all cream/liquid products). I do recommend applying cheek at a time, because you need to work fairly fast. If you’re new to liquid/cream cheek products, I implore you to start off slowly so you don’t end up with any splotchiness!

The color of Posietint does run a bit cool, but I still think it’s quite wearable for all skin tones, as I liked the soft, natural pinking it gave my cheeks. It was just perfect for that barely-there-flush to match with barely-there makeup. The color of the box (pictured above) is very much the color of the product itself (but you can compare with the swatch, too). With summer nearing, I start reaching for creamy blushes, because I use them as a base. I layer a cream blush on my cheeks after foundation, then apply a powder blush or powder highlight to set the cream blush. I set my whole face by applying translucent loose powder, and I find my makeup gets me through even the hottest days.

One great thing about Posietint is that you can build up the intensity of the stain, either on lips or on cheeks. Just keep layering and blending it onto cheeks (or lips!) to increase the color until you get to the level you desire. I’d say I like it more on cheeks than lips, but on lips it helps add more “natural” pink to my otherwise kind of muted-mauve-dead lips.

Oily skinned folks — this is less likely to slide around if you set it
Ladies on the go; super easy to apply
Work-safe looks, because it just gives you enhanced natural cheek color
Summerproof makeup — stays on longer than powder blushes, less likely to budge/smear

Benefit Posietint Lip & Cheek Stain

Easy & quick neutral eye This is the “I want to try out a bunch of new products” look — I tried out Guerlain’s Bleu Cruise mascara, Benefit Posietint, and Benefit 10! Yay!

HAPPY FRIDAY! We made it to the weekend. I hope you have some fun plans coming up! I’ll be spending my Friday afternoon studying with my study group, and then we’ll meet again on Saturday afternoon. Sunday I’ll be spending with my family for Mother’s Day! How about you?

You will need the following…

• Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (neutral beige base), Blanc Type eyeshadow (vanilla white, matte), Soft Brown eyeshadow (soft medium brown), Espresso eyeshadow (dark warm brown), Shroom eyeshadow (shimmery highlighter), Urban Decay Stash 24/7 Liner (antique gold), Guerlain Bleu Cruise Mascara (teal)
• Cheeks: Benefit Posietint (cool pink), Benefit 10 (highlighter/bronzer duo)
• Lips: Wild ‘Bout You lipstick (deep raspberry), Desire lipglass (deep raspberry-wine)
• Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
• Substitutes: Wild ‘Bout You = New York Apple/Rebel

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base. On the lid, apply Blanc Type eyeshadow using the 239. Darken the outer lid using Soft Brown eyeshadow using the 239. Darken crease with Espresso eyeshadow using the 226, then overlay with Soft Brown eyeshadow. Sweep Shroom eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Stash Liner on lower lash line, and Guerlain Bleu Cruise mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Benefit Posietint using the 129, then highlight with Benefit 10 with the 188. Apply Wild ‘Bout You lipstick to lips, and then top with Desire lipglass for color and shine.
