Each eyeshadow is the size of the average full-size eyeshadow (0.05 oz.).

Azure Iris is a subdued lavender with a very, very faint golden sheen. I wouldn’t describe it as prismatic. While it’s not as interesting on the surface, I don’t really have anything like it. Tarina Tarantino Violet Storm is brighter and frostier. MAC Beautiful Iris is a little more vibrant and cooler in tone. The texture is soft to the touch, and it applies smoothly against the skin.

Golden Iris is a light-medium tangerine orange with a golden orange shimmer-sheen. It has good color payoff and applies very smoothly. Chanel Tigerlily is darker, more orange. bareMinerals Nirvana is lighter, almost pink-tinted. theBalm Mischievous Marissa is more copper. Milani Bronze Doll is darker.

The texture of both shades is a little thinner, drier compared to most of the other duos in the range. As a result, they are slightly on the powder side–so be gentle with your brush when you go to use these so you don’t kick up a lot of excess powder.  Both shades are nicely pigmented and extremely easy to blend.  When I tested the wear of the duo, these lasted for eight hours with minor fading along the edges without a primer, and then a full eight hours with no noticeable fading with a primer.

	I think the color combination is a little unexpected! The lavender shade was surprisingly difficult to dupe, too, which I definitely appreciate!

bareMinerals The Last Call Ready Eyeshadow Duo ($20.00 for 0.10 oz.) contains two shades: On the Rocks (blueberry) and Shaken Not Stirred (jeweled navy). This is one of seven new duos for spring/summer.  Each duo is packaged in a rubberized plastic compact with a full-size mirror inside and a sponge-tipped applicator. Each eyeshadow is the size of the average full-size eyeshadow (0.05 oz.).

On the Rocks is a vibrant purple-blue with a blue iridescence. The finish is mostly matte, aside from the subtle iridesent shimmer. It’s a pretty spectacular color–I don’t really have anything like it that I can think of. MAC Cobalt is darker, bluer, which is the same issue with MAC Royale–so much darker, much bluer. The texture of this shade was silky soft, and it applied smoothly, evenly, and had good color payoff.

Shaken Not Stirred is a blackened navy blue with subtle navy blue shimmer. MAC Lunar is a little lighter/bluer. MAC Shop & Drop is similar but has finer shimmer. Bobbi Brown Blue Onyx is very similar in color. The texture was a bit drier than the formula is in general, but it wasn’t too dry. It yielded good color payoff.

I can’t get over the awesomeness that is On the Rocks; it’s so vibrant! It’s blue, it’s purple, it’s iridescent–such a complex, lovely color to see.  The navy blue of Shaken Not Stirred certainly complements On the Rocks, so the two can be worn together for a bright, navy smoky eye.  Both shades wear really well; a solid eight hours over bare lids (but some fading after nine hours), and absolutely no problems even after ten hours when worn over a primer.  Shaken Not Stirred could be a little bit softer/denser in texture, to make it a real knock out, but it applies intensely and blends out fairly easily despite the drier texture.

	I can't get over the awesomeness that is On the Rocks; it's so vibrant! It's blue, it's purple, it's iridescent--such a complex, lovely color to see. The navy blue of Shaken Not Stirred certainly complements On the Rocks, so the two can be worn together for a bright, navy smoky eye.

This is one of seven new duos for spring/summer.  Each duo is packaged in a rubberized plastic compact with a full-size mirror inside and a sponge-tipped applicator. Each eyeshadow is the size of the average full-size eyeshadow (0.05 oz.).

Stealth is a soft, pastel orange (very much the apricot they describe) with a satiny finish. The texture is soft, dense, and buttery, which resulted in excellent color payoff. MAC Orb is more beige. Inglot #330 is lighter, yellower. Dolce & Gabbana Jewels is slightly darker. bareMinerals Nirvana is more orange and frosted.

Undercover is a dark, steely taupe–very gray with a hint of brown and almost plum undertones. The texture is still soft but not as dense as Stealth. It has great pigmentation. MAC Dynamic Duo 3 is similar, slightly darker. Urban Decay Mushroom is darker and browner. MAC Keep Your Cool is very similar. Giorgio Armani #4 is browner. Chanel Illusoire is more frosted.

It’s an interesting color combination; Stealth is very warm-toned, while Undercover has strong gray tones, so it is a cooler color. They can work together, but it’s not as classic of a combination (which isn’t a bad thing!).  Both shades applied beautifully, and they were easy to blend on the eyes.  When I tested the wear, I was able to get eight hours of wear with and without a primer; there was some minor fading around the very edges after nine hours when worn without a primer.  bareMinerals’ duos are some of the best eyeshadows on the market.

	Bare Escentuals' duos are some of the best eyeshadows on the market, and this is one of the top duos they've come out with, as far as quality goes. The taupe shade--Undercover--is sure to win a lot of people over, but it is more dupeable.

bareMinerals The Cliff Hanger Ready Eyeshadow Duo ($20.00 for 0.10 oz.) contains two shades: Suspense (natural stone) and Awe (violet woods). This is one of seven new duos for spring/summer.  Each duo is packaged in a rubberized plastic compact with a full-size mirror inside and a sponge-tipped applicator. Each eyeshadow is the size of the average full-size eyeshadow (0.05 oz.).

Suspense is is a light-medium gray-beige with a matte finish. It’s a lighter taupe, mushroom-y kind of color. The color payoff is excellent, and the texture is soft, dense, and rich without being powdery. Guerlain Les Gris is lighter and shimmery. I was surprised when I wasn’t able to think of any other dupes!

Awe is a cool-toned, ultra dark purple with hints of teal and silver shimmer. It’s almost a blackened-purple, but there’s not enough darkness there (which isn’t a bad thing–blackened colors often lose the color nuance once applied). The pigmentation is good, but it’s not perfect–the texture is a smidgen on the drier side, especially compared to many of the other shades within the formula. bareMinerals Daring is similar but more intense, a little more purple. MAC Indigo Noir is purpler, less gray.

These two shades together aren’t quite as complementary as a lot of the other duos the brand has released. They certainly work together, but for whatever reason, it’s just not as effortless.  I think it might be the beige-ness of Suspense that makes it more difficult.  I love the texture and feel of Suspense, and it’s such a lovely, versatile neutral matte shade to work with. Awe applies fine, but you might need to go back to darken the area you applied it to.  I did have a little fading with Awe after eight hours (without a primer–no fading when used over a primer) as well.

This is one of seven new duos for spring/summer.  Each duo is packaged in a rubberized plastic compact with a full-size mirror inside and a sponge-tipped applicator. Each eyeshadow is the size of the average full-size eyeshadow (0.05 oz.).

Page Six is a warm strawberry pink with subtle golden shimmer and a frosted, metallic sheen. It’s soft, smooth, and opaque in color. MAC Rose Light is pinker, not as yellow-toned. Lancome Kitten Heel is a smidgen lighter and has a stronger golden sheen. Inglot #399 is darker. Giorgio Armani #7 is darker, less pink.

Most Requested is a red-toned medium-dark brown with burgundy tones. It also has subtle sivler and ruby sparkle. It has mostly opaque color coverage and applies smoothly. Dolce & Gabbana Cocoa is a little lighter and browner. bareMinerals Kismet is very similar, perhaps a touch browner, and doesn’t have sparkle. Chanel Ebloui is darker.

I’m a huge, huge fan of the Ready Eyeshadows.  The formula is soft, dense, and feels almost creamy, and it applies smooth as silk against the skin, whether over a primer or on bare lids. I get a full eight hours of wear without creasing or fading when I wear the formula on bare lids or over a primer, so it’s great to have that versatility. The 15 Minutes works together, which is always nice, though they are easily used alone or with other eyeshadows you have in your stash. Most Requested has noticeable sparkle, so there is some fall out during application and the majority of the sparkle doesn’t translate onto the lid (gets lost somewhere between the brush and the lid).

bareMinerals bareMinerals The Alter Ego Eyeshadow Duo ($20.00 for 0.10 oz.) won’t be available until May, but hang onto your seats, because it’s such a lovely duo. This is one of the best eyeshadow formulas on the market, and bareMinerals didn’t let us down with their expansion of their Ready line-up. Alter Ego consists of two shades: Wicked and Daring.

Wicked is a springy yellow-tinted green with a frosted finish. It has excellent pigmentation and goes opaque with very little product needed. Wet ‘n’ Wild Comfort Zone is darker, more olive green. MAC Juxt is yellower, a bit darker. Inglot #364 is very similar but a matte variation. It’s a warm, yellow-based green, but subtly done–it’s not as yellow or as warm as other shades that might be similar.

Daring is this rich, smoky purple with subtle red undertones and almost bluish tint. The color payoff is amazing–I couldn’t believe it–it was so soft, smooth, and rich. MAC Indigo Noir is similar but matte. MAC Imaginary is purpler and brighter. MAC Starless Night is similar but more shimmered, less muted.

What makes the formula impressive is the pigmentation; both shades in this duo were intensely pigmented with a soft, smooth texture that was dense and buttery without being so soft it was crumbly or powdery.  This texture and payoff translates seamlessly to the lids during application.  They’re soft and blendable.  Without a primer, it wears for over eight hours with no noticeable issues–after ten, there is the faintest fading around the crease.  With a primer, I have no problems even after ten hours.  The price point is palatable, too–two full-sized eyeshadows for $20.
