Jayma Mays @ 2010 Golden Globes

67th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Jayma Mays

Very simple makeup here – is it just me or is the lash line a little muddy?   Oh, but I love her hair color!

Emily Blunt @ 2010 Golden Globes

67th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Emily Blunt

Her face is totally not matching her body, which is really throwing me off.  I liked the tousled hair look, I suppose…

Makeup & Beauty How-to

Jenn Streicher, makeup artist using Dior Beauty, says her inspiration was:  “Emily wore a beautiful sleeveless pink frilly dress, so we wanted the makeup to be beautiful, soft and feminine.”

Eyes: Dior 5-Coulour Eyeshadow in Stylish Move #970, DiorShow Brow in Shiny Brown, DiorShow Blackout Mascara

Lips: Dior Creme de Rose, Dior Addict Lip Polish #001, Dior Glossy Liner in Glossy Pink

Cheeks: Dior Dentelle Illuminating Lace Effect Powder

Skin: Dior Hydraction Deep Hydration Radical Serum, Dior Skinflash Primer, Dior AirFlash Spray Foundation #200, Dior Skinflash Radiance Booster Pen #001

Body: Dior Bronze Self-Tanner Natural Glow Body

Hair How-to

Laini Reeves cut her hair to shoulder length just for the Golden Globes and then created a curl that was blunt and chic, but still a little fun.

First, Laini applied the NO FRIZZ, WAVE SHAPING CREAM FOR MEDIUM TO THICK HAIR ($24) to Emily’s wet hair to prevent the hair from frizzing. She then added a bit of the new LIVING PROOF FULL ($24) to add a bit of body to the wave. She started creating the pin curls by taking half inch pieces of hair and wrapping each piece around her fingers and then pinning them to the top of the head. Reeves recommends alternating the twisting monition both clockwise and counter clockwise to add dimension. She then let the hair dry naturally. After the hair was completely dry she used both a medium curling iron, and small barrel curling iron to accentuate the curl. To add a bit of sophistication to the look, she used a flat iron on each curl, straightening the bottom inch of the hair.

Olivia Wilde @ 2010 Golden Globes

67th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Olivia Wilde

I’m actually really loving those eyes!  The false lashes look really good on her, and they look very… wicked but in a good way.

Rose Byrne @ 2010 Golden Globes

67th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Rose Byrne

I like the eyes, and the lips are okay, but the cheeks look a little off to me.  I love the wavy locks!

Beauty Breakdown

Ana Marie prepped the skin with Secret de Vie Toner (her favorite!) and then applied Lancôme Bienfait Multi Vital moisturizer to keep skin hydrated and fresh. Lancôme Absolue Foundation in Ecru was applied with a foundation brush and blended with a makeup sponge. This helps the foundation go on evenly and keep the skin looking radiant.

To create a sultry smokey eye, Ana Marie used Lancôme Eyeshadow Quad in Innocence Couture. The Positive shade was swept all over the eyelid and Fashion Scoop and Backstage Pass were blended just to the lash line and smudged. Next, Lancôme Artliner in Noir was used to create a cat line for extra drama. Lancôme Définicils Waterproof Mascara in Black coated the top and bottom lashes.

Lancôme Color Design Cream Blush in Petticoat Pink was dabbed on the apples of the cheek and then topped with a powder blush, Lancôme Blush Subtil in Cedar Rose. This technique helps keep the cheek color fresh all day, even with the rain! Shu Uemura Loose Powder in Translucent was dusted on the T-zone to create a matte complexion. Finally, Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Simmer gave Rose her ultra-glossy pout.

Hair Breakdown

Harry Josh, a John Frieda International Creative Consultant, styled Rose Byrne’s hair.

“I went for an old school Hollywood style with a modern twist,” said Harry. “The shape and silouette is classic, but I roughed it up a little and loosened the waves to make the look less up tight.”

Harry began by applying John Frieda’s Luxurious Volume Bountiful Body Mousse to Rose’s wet hair to add texture.  “Before you start styling, add tons of Luxurious Volume Mousse to sectioned off hair. It will give hair the it texture needs to help the waves set and stay in all night,” explains Harry.

Harry blow dryed the hair with a round brush section by section. Using a small curling iron, he wrapped each section with the iron pointed down. Then he brushed out the curls until he achieved the perfect wave.

“To ensure Rose’s hair would look perfect in front of the cameras and would stay full and lifted throughout the night, I sprayed John Frieda’s Luxurious Volume All Out Hold Hairspray. This spray is really light and dry so it doesn’t effect the style, but will hold waves in place for hours.” explained Harry. “A quick spray and she was ready to go.”

Last he added a side pin, just to give the look a little touch of glamour.
