Julia Roberts @ 2010 Golden Globes

Golden Globe Awards: Julia Roberts

Her look isn’t really working for me tonight.  From afar, I like her makeup, but up-close, it’s a little clash-y.

Beauty Breakdown

First, Genevieve applied Lancôme Bienfait Multi Vital Teinté to Julia’s flawless complexion.  Just a hint of color was applied to the cheeks with Lancôme Color Design Cream Blush in Petticoat Pink. Genevieve used her finger to apply and pressed the color on to Julia’s cheeks. To create a dramatic eye, Le Crayon Khôl in Black Ebony was used. Several coats of Lancôme Définicils Pro Mascara in Black created lush, dark lashes. Genevieve opted for a soft natural-looking pout. She applied Lancôme Le Lipstique lip liner in Natural Mauve then coated the lips with Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge in Coquette and topped with Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Hallucination for a high-shine finish. – Genevieve, Makeup Artist, for Lancome

Anna Kendrick @ 2010 Golden Globes

Golden Globe Awards: Anna Kendrick

I felt kind of stupid, because I had no idea who she was, so I totally had to Google her to find out… but she looks good here!  (Though the dress is so not my style.)

Hair How-to

To achieve Anna Kendrick’s look at tonight’s Golden Globes, celebrity stylist, Stephanie Hobgood, used a selection of Davines products.

“The styling began with Anna’s favorites from Davines, the LOVE Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner.  From there I liberally applied Davines For Wizards No. 3 Universal Mattering Mousse. This gave Anna’s hair body and volume, but left it soft and shiny. It’s made for medium hold and long-lasting control, so I knew she wouldn’t have to worry about the style holding throughout the night.

After parting Anna’s hair and pinning it up, leaving some loose tendrils in the front, I applied Davines For Wizards No. 1 Finest Oil Non Oil. It added a soft definition that helped eliminate the static effect and tamed the flyaways. Lastly, I sprayed her hair with Davines For Wizards No. 9 Structuring Mist for medium hold and high shine.”

Stephanie added, “Anna loves the smell of the product and her hair was covered in Davines! We had so much fun getting ready!”

Calista Flockhart @ 2010 Golden Globes

Golden Globe Awards: Calista Flockhart

I am really digging her simple makeup here — it’s understated, but it suits her.  She and Harrison Ford look lovely together, too!

Jennifer Garner @ 2010 Golden Globes

Golden Globe Awards: Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner always looks really youthful and like she’s always having fun, which just gives her a glow about her!

Beauty Inspiration

“Jen’s dress was a perfect nude colour, and the beads were pink and silvery.  The overall look was champagne and beige.  With her pale skin and dark hair, it was my job to bring colour and radiance to the silhouette because everything else was quite monochromatic.  I saw it as an excuse to break out the perfect lip shade.” — Kate Lee, Makeup Artist

Beauty Breakdown

“I prepped the skin with CHANEL Hydramax + Active Serum and then CHANEL Sublimage Fluid Moisturizer, which leaves a velvety texture on the skin.  On Jen’s eyes I used CHANEL Quadra Eye Shadow in Kaska Beige.  I liner her lids with CHANEL Long Lasting Eyeliner in Espresso, smudged it out, and used the dark burgundy shade from the quad along the lash line. I then used my favourite colour in the world, the beigey-taupey-lilac shade in the quad, in the socket line.  I feathered it along the lash line as well, to blend the chocolate brown liner.  I curled the lashes, an applied one coat of CHANEL Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir.  On her cheeks I used Neutrogena a combination of Neutrogena Mineral Sheer Cheek Colours in Apricot, Sable, and Rare Rose. Finally, on the lips I used CHANEL Rouge Coco in Rouge Orage. I chose this shade because it has amazing staying power and incredible hydrating properties.  It’s an intense rosey colour with a bronze shimmer – perfect or Jen’s full lips.”  — Kate Lee, Makeup Artist

Hair How-to

Adir Abergel, for Frederic Fekkai, sought to capture her essence and amazing spirit, he wanted to play up her beautiful dress by elongating Jennifer’s features. He did that by building height on the top of the head and creating cascading curls to fall down her back.

He first started by applying the FEKKAI COIFF™ BOUFFANT LIFTING & TEXTURIZING SPRAY GEL all over the roots to create body and movement. He created extra volume using the FEKKAI COIFF™ STRONG HOLD VOLUME MOUSSE from the roots to the ends for memory and hold. He took a round brush and blow-dried the hair and while it was hot, placed it into stand up pin curls and let cool while she got her makeup done. He then released all the pin curls and ran his fingers through her hair to loosen the curls and create an effortless feel. He then backcombed the roots for extra body and sprayed the roots with FEKKAI COIFF™ Sheer Hold Hairspray. To finish the look pulled the hair half up and secured each side with a bobby pin. Finally he sprayed FEKKAI ADVANCED™ BRILLIANT GLOSSING™ SHEER SHINE MIST for all night shine.

Courtney Cox @ 2010 Golden Globes

Golden Globe Awards: Courteney Cox

Simple, understated, elegant.  Love her makeup and her dress.

Beauty Breakdown

Celebrity makeup artist Genevieve gave Courteney Cox her Golden Globes look, pairing a sexy smoky eye with a pale nude lip.

Genevieve lined Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl in Gris Noir on the upper and lower lash line to define Courteney’s eyes. Several coats of Lancôme Hypnôse mascara in black gave her lashes a beautiful boost of volume. Genevieve added Lancôme Color Design Eyeshadow in Honeymoon to the inner corner and The New Black to the outer corner to make Courteney’s eyes pop. Genevieve added just a touch of color to the cheeks with Giorgio Armani Sheer Cream Blush #2. For Courteney’s soft neutral colored pout, Genevieve dabbed on Lancôme Color Design Lipcolor in Pale Lip.

Cameron Diaz @ 2010 Golden Globes

Golden Globe Awards: Cameron Diaz

More of those scarlet lips, I see!   I’m not loving the way everything comes together — it’s a little bright, I suppose, to me.

Beauty Inspiration

“I wanted to blend my old Hollywood inspiration from the dress with the sunny California girl that is Cameron. So I paired the classic CHANEL red mouth with the golden sunny California eye.” — Robin Fredriksz, Makeup Artist

Beauty Breakdown

“I used the gold shadow from the CHANEL Quadra Eye Shadow in Mystic Eyes in the outer corner of Cameron’s lids and crease, and then I used the darker peach and gold mixed together from CHANEL Quadra Eye Shadow Quad in Demure on her lids. I lined her eye with CHANEL Precision Eye Definer in Khaki Dore, and finished with CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir. On her lips she wore CHANEL Rouge Allure Laque in Dragon.”  — Robin Fredriksz, Makeup Artist
