A look at Michelle Williams as she walked the red carpet at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California on January 15th, 2012.  Her makeup was done by makeup artist Angela Levin for Chanel. Angela created this classic beauty look on Michelle Williams, stating “my inspiration was a gorgeous Golden Globe winner!”

Makeup Breakdown

Angela started the makeup application with cleaning the skin with CHANEL Lotion Douceur Gentle Hydrating Toner using a sponge instead of cotton. She then applied a thin layer of CHANEL Ultra Correction Lift Intensive Lifting Concentrate on her face, Angels Makeup Collagen Treatment under her eyes, and placed CHANEL Sublimage La Creme Texture Supreme on her cheeks and neck.

For this red carpet makeup look Angela applied CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Pastel on the face and eye lids, as a base. On the eyes, she used the grey shadow shades from the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Smoky Eyes to create a light smoky effect on the upper lid, then adding CHANEL Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Black Shimmer to the top lash. Angela then defined the brows with CHANEL Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Blond Clair and added two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir on the top and bottom lashes. On Michelle’s cheeks she applied CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Ecrin that gave a perfect flush, and completed the look with CHANEL Rouge Coco Hydrating Crème Lip Colour in Perle.

Julianne Moore @ 2012 Golden Globes Awards

69th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Julianne Moore

A look at Julianne Moore as she walked the red carpet at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California on January 15th, 2012. Her makeup was done by makeup artist Pati Dubroff for Clarins. On inspiration, Dubroff said, “I have been looking at a lot of photos of Sharon Tate lately and saw a striking resemblance – especially in profile – to Julianne. Her black Chanel gown was the perfect dress to put the makeup focus on the eyes. A definitive nod to the 60s shape with glowing skin and pale, sheer lips keep this look fresh and modern.”

Makeup Breakdown

I started by prepping the skin with Instant Smooth Line Correcting Concentrate through the t-zone and applying Beauty Flash Balm on the neck and outer portions of the face. Next, I used a minimal amount of Skin Illusion Foundation just where she needed it and applied the Instant Light Brush On Perfector under the eyes and to brighten any shadows on the face. A light dusting of loose powder sets and holds the foundation for the long night ahead. The cheeks have a very minimal dusting of Blush Prodige in Lovely Rose; just to give a slight flush to the cheekbones.

The star of this show are the EYES. I first applied the Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base on the eye lid to even the tone and act as a cream shadow. I mixed the Grey and Brown Eye Pencils together on the back of my hand and then with a domed brush followed the shape of the eye, exaggerating the crease. Then I used a smaller brush, with the same pencil mix, along the lashline and extended the line outwards to lengthen and add drama. On top of the pencils, I used the matte shadow from the Pro Palette EyeBrow Kit for a matte base then used the medium tone in the crease and the darker grey in the corners. I even used the matte taupe shade in the kit to define the lower lash line. Next, I used the pale creamy shade in the Eye Quartet Mineral Palette in Pastels in the center of the eyelid. Finally, I traced the whole eye in Instant Liner in Black to add further definition to the lash line. Just a few coats of Instant Definition Mascara in Black completed this sexy, dramatic eye.

The lips were kept easy and soft with a subtle lining with Lip Definer and Nude topped off with Color Quench Lip Balm in Peach Nectar.

69th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Kate Beckinsale

A look at Kate Beckinsale as she walked the red carpet at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California on January 15th, 2012.

Makeup Breakdown

On Contraband star Kate Beckinsale, a presenter at the Golden Globes, makeup artist Molly Stern focused on radiant skin, bold eyes and high-gloss lips. “Kate’s Roberto Cavalli dress was so ethereal and magical, I wanted to keep the skin looking completely luminous and create a bit of edge with the eyes. The combination of Hourglass’ Veil Mineral Primer and Illusion Tinted Moisturizer is utterly gorgeous. The foundation is sheer, blendable and buildable but still leaves skin looking translucent. I used Film Noir Lash Lacquer to give Kate’s lashes drama, depth and dimension. It’s everything you want in a red-carpet look.”

Skin: Molly began by moisturizing Kate’s skin with Natura Bisse’s The Cure Cream. She then primed with Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer which creates a flawless canvas for makeup, followed by a light application of Hourglass Illusion Tinted Moisturizer in Sand. Molly loved the sheer finish of the foundation which allowed the British beauty’s gorgeous skin to shine through.

Cheeks: She used the bronze tone in Hourglass Illume Crème-to Powder Bronzer Duo in Sunset to add warmth to her skin, and followed with the blush tone applied on the apples of her cheeks. She then dusted Nars Miss Liberty high on her cheekbone to add an extra glow.

Eyes: Molly used the bronze shade of Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo in Gypsy as a base, and set it with Nars Galapagos Eye Shadow, smudged deep into the lid. For an extra pop of light, she dabbed Chanel’s Blazing Gold Ombré Essential over the inner lid. Her lashes are deep and jet-black due to Hourglass Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara, followed by Hourglass Film Noir Lash Lacquer which was painted over them for an extra kick of drama.

Lips: Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Crème lipstick in Fresco was used as a base on Kate’s lips, followed by Hourglass Extreme Sheen Lip Gloss in Imagine for a glistening sheen.

Her hair was styled by Renato Campora for Frederic Fekkai. Campora wanted a creative take on a classic red carpet look that focused on texture and body.

Hair Breakdown

To achieve a base of texture and manageability, Renato applied a blend of the Fekkai COIFF™ Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel and the Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Cream throughout the hair, followed with a rough blow dry. Next, Renato used a 1 ½ inch curling iron to create loose curls, letting the curls set for 10 minutes so they fell, creating little bit of a wave. Next he separated the hair into three sections, two low pig-tails and a ponytail in the middle. All three pieces were secured with clear hair ties. Renato finished by weaving the three pieces into a high bun. He secured the look with Fekkai COIFF™ Sheer Hold Hairspray
