A look at Tina Fey as she walked the red carpet at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California on January 15th, 2012. If/when we receive information about her look, we’ll be sure to share! Her makeup was by Gita Bass for Votre Vu. “We were inspired by Tina’s Oscar de la Renta dress, which was a gorgeous purple shade, so we decided to create a rich, sexy but low-key look that wouldn’t compete with the gown.” said Gita.
Makeup Breakdown
Gita started by prepping the face with skin-soothing Votre Vu Tragic Magic Rescue Creme. “It calms the complexion making it the perfect canvas for makeup” she said. She then patted on Votre Vu Tout le Monde Antioxidant Eye Gelée under the eyes and brow bone. “It decreases puffiness instantly which helps since Tina doesn’t get much sleep with a new baby at home!”
Next, she applied Votre Vu Sensational Eyes Eye Primer in Medium on lids for a flawless eye makeup base. To create a well-defined brow, Gita used the “amazing” Votre Vu Wonder Brow in Eva which helped to emphasize Tina’s natural arch.
Then, she smoothed on Votre Vu Champagne Kisses Lip Enhancing Balm to hydrate and prevent lipstick from bleeding and feathering. To set the look and create a silky finish, Gita dusted on Votre Vu Mineral Powder in Light all over the face.
Gita finished by applying the deliciously scented Votre Vu Tarte D’Amande Body Creme to décolletage, arms and legs for a gorgeous, well moisturized sheen.
A look at Jessica Biel as she walked the red carpet at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California on January 15th, 2012. Her makeup was done by makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua for Chanel. Kara’s inspiration for the look was Jessica’s coloring and her white gown. “I wanted to keep it simple and bright in the corals and neutral tones,” said Bua.
Makeup Breakdown
“I started Jessica’s look by applying CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Sable to her face, setting it with CHANEL Natural Finished Pressed Powder in Natural, and adding CHANEL Powder Blush in In Love to the cheeks for a healthy glow. I wanted to focus on popping the eyes with brown and taupe shades…I defined the eyes with the deep warm brown and taupe colors from the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Prelude, and applied the shimmery gold/champagne shades as highlights on the lid. I then added CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir on the top lashes and CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Brun on lower lashes for a more natural effect. And finished the look with the fresh looking Rouge Coco Hydrating Crème Lip Colour in Paradis. Healthy beautiful skin and warm corals on the cheeks and lips keeps the look so fresh!”
Her hair was done by stylist Davy Newkirk. Newkirk says, “We wanted Jessica’s hair to compliment the ‘bohemian luxury’ feel of her dress. I loved the idea of natural cascading waves against the backdrop of the dress’ backless silhouette. The overall look evokes a relaxed vibe while still remaining polished and sophisticated.”
Hair Breakdown
“Jessica has a great head of hair, the texture is fine but she has a ton of it! I added extra volume and lift at the roots while maintaining the feather light feel.“ Apply Alterna Bamboo Volume Weightless Whipped Mousse all over damp hair, and Alterna Bamboo Volume Uplifting Root Blast to the roots. Blow dry using a large round brush, this smoothes the cuticle to ensure a polished result. When hair is 95% dry give strands texture and wave with Alterna Bamboo Style Boho Waves Touseled Texture Mist and then finish with a rough dry using your fingers.
“While creating Jessica’s waves my goal was to keep the look youthful and modern.” Divide hair into 1” sections and create waves using a 1¼” curling iron. Alternate between wrapping and clamping sections to maintain the organic movement to the look. Apply Alterna Bamboo Style Moldable Texture Paste to hands and using your fingers comb through the curls, tousling the strands as you go.
Mist hair with Alterna Bamboo Smooth Anti-Humidity Hair Spray, the flexible hold formula will set the style, add healthy shine and lock out frizz. Smooth pieces around the face with Alterna Bamboo Style Moldable Texture Paste.

Angela said, “I focused on the amazing color and details on her dress, to create this fresh, elegant look.”
Makeup Breakdown
To start the process, Angela primed Nicole’s face with CHANEL Sublimage Essential Revitalizing Concentrate and CHANEL Hydra Beauty Hydration Protection Radiance Serum. To even out the skin tone, she applied a thin layer of Senna Barely Base in Light, and then a layer of CHANEL Vitalumiere Moisture-Rich Radiance Fluid Makeup SPF 15 in Ivoire. To play up Nicole’s eyes Angela used the taupe shade in the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Lilium all over the lids, followed by the deep green shade to define the upper lash line. She lined under the lower lash line with Face Eyeshadow in Steel, and then the lashes were finished with CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir. To complete the look Angela used CHANEL Powder Blush in In Love on the cheeks and Laura Mercer Secret Brightening Powder on the cheek and brow bones. Staying away from anything too romantic, the rougher texture was key in achieving the goal of the style – a strong feel while remaining feminine.
Hair Breakdown
Starting with wet hair, applied MATRIX Total Results Amplify Foam Volumizer. Rough dried hair to extenuate natural texture. Used a 1” barrel curling iron to touch up natural wave. Took a dab of MATRIX Total Results Curl Contouring Lotion to tame any extra frizz throughout the hair and give it a bit more definition. Pulled hair back loosely letting the front of the hair and pieces around the face fall out. Twist ends of hair and pull back to create a loose, messy chignon in the back, letting the front of the hair and pieces around the face fall out
Once hair was back and pinned, began dropping the hair into the messy bun shape, pinning and wrapping each piece individually. To secure the style, used BIOLAGE Freeze Fix Hair Spray. Pinned in Lanvin hair accessory.
