Sofia Vergara @ 2011 SAG Awards

Sofia Vergara @ 2011 SAG Awards

Sofia Vergara had her makeup done by celebrity makeup artist Kayleen McAdams.

Makeup Breakdown by Kayleen McAdams, Celebrity Makeup Artist

We wanted to create a Brigitte Bardot inspired beauty look with a lot of lashes and a glamorous smoky eye. It was a classic Sofia beauty look, but just amped up a bit.

To highlight Sofia’s flawless complexion I used just a touch of concealer under her eyes and then applied COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Chestnut followed by COVERGIRL Clean Pressed Powder Oil Control in Soft Honey. I added just a touch of highlighter on her cheekbones, forehead and the bridge of her nose for a healthy glow and finished the skin with COVERGIRL Cheekers Blush in Classic pink applied on the apples of her cheeks.

For her smoky eye I first lined the top of the eyes with COVERGIRL LiquiLineBlast in Brown Blaze very close to the lash line and the bottom of the eye from the inner to outer corner. I made the line on the top very thick and smoky and then blended it out to a cat-eye shape. I then applied COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers in Coffee Shop over the liner to soften it and brought that color all the way up to the crease of her eye. Next I added a thin line of COVERGIRL Line Exact in Black Brown right at the lash line to add thickness to her lashes and finished the eye with lots of lashes; 3 coats of COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion in very Black on the top and one on the bottom.

For Sofia’s mauve lip, I used COVERGIRL Lip Perfection Lipstick in Entwined for rich color with a creamy finish.

January Jones @ 2011 SAG Awards

January Jones @ 2011 SAG Awards

January Jones had her makeup done by celebrity makeup artist Rachel Goodwin.

Makeup Breakdown

“I wanted January’s makeup to have a shimmering, candlelit quality to it. I was inspired by her black and gold lace dress which had a very decadent romantic feeling to it. I used different shades of gilded metallics and reflective textures on her eyes, cheeks, and lips.” — Rachel Goodwin, Makeup Artist

“I lined her eyes with CHANEL Precision Eye Definer in Gris Scintillant, a sparkling pewter pencil blending all the way into the crease along with a pale gold cream color to her upper lids and inner eyes. Her cheek and brow bones were brushed with Soleil Tan De CHANEL Moisturizing Bronzing Powder for soft radiant highlights. I finished with CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Lip Colour in Boy on her lips, a delicate luminous petal pink.”

Hair Breakdown

On wet hair, Campora began by applying Fekkai Advanced Full Blown Styling Whip to create volume and Fekkai Coiff™ Contrôle Ironless Straightening Balm to smooth out the hair. He parted the hair to the side and blow dried using a round brush. To accentuate the wave, he used a one inch curling iron setting the hair into pin curls. Once he took the curls out, Campora brushed through the hair creating volume and constructing shape for the style. Then, he pinned the hair up at the center of the head, revealing the nape of her neck for the dramatic look. To finish the look, Renato sprayed Fekkai Coiff™ Sheer Hold Hairspray for all night hold.

Makeup Breakdown

“Dianna wore a vintage CHANEL Haute Couture dress in navy with a black lace overlay. I wanted to make Dianna appear fresh and up to date.” — Kate Lee, Makeup Artist

“I started by using CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Ambre to smoke put the inner lid, then gently blended it onto the upper and lower lash line. I worked over the top with CHANEL Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Cinnamon, a dark burgundy shade. On the inner third of the lid I used grey shimmery tone from the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Enigma. I blended and melted the colours away from the socket. Lashes were curled and given one coat of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir-Brun. I finished off the eye by sculpting Dianna’s brows with Anastasia’s brow pencil and tinted brow gel. I then applied a layer of CHANEL Hydramax + Active Serum, followed by Nars oil free primer. I perfected the skin with CHANEL Vitalumiere Moisture-Rich Fluid Makeup. On the apple of the cheek I used CHANEL Powder Blush in Fresque which is a beautiful peach shade that shines pink and adds a really pretty dimension to the cheek. On the lips I used CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Lip Colour in Romance to add a pop of pink an keep the look youthful!”

Hair Breakdown

“We wanted to merge the vintage and modern look together by doing a double knot in the back and sweeping the bangs to one side so you get a glimpse of the effortlessly undone ‘do from every angle” says Jenny Cho, Suave Professionals Celebrity Stylist.

Add texture to hair by adding Suave Professionals Volumizing Mousse to damp hair. You can be generous with the amount of product – in this case, more is better. Blow dry hair with fingers and a medium size round brush to smooth out the ends. Spray Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo all over, concentrating on the roots for extra texture.

Side part the hair with a tail comb and tease crown for a little extra volume. Apply Suave Professionals Sleek Anti-Frizz Cream to hands and split the hair down the center into two sections. Tie a knot as if you’re tying a bow and secure the first knot with bobby pins and u-pins. Make another knot right under the first, so it’s double knotted, and secure with more pins. Leave the ends out to give it the undone finish.

Sculpt the front by adding more anti-frizz cream and mold the fringe to frame the face. Leave a piece out on one side to add a touch of looseness.

Finish the look with Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Lightweight Hold Hairspray for a natural, moveable finish.

Next, he blow dried the hair straight with a round brush. With a straightening iron, he sealed the ends to achieve the flat style. He then pulled the hair into a high ponytail. A great tip for this is to follow the cheek bone line all the way up, and then place the base of the ponytail at that point. He secured the hair with an elastic band, for an added dimension. Christina Hendricks @ 2011 SAG Awards

Christina Hendricks @ 2011 SAG Awards

Christina Hendricks had her makeup done by celebrity makeup artist Vanessa Scali using CoverGirl.

Makeup Breakdown

Christina was inspired by Brigitte Bardot’s black smoky eyes and nude face. So, we went in this direction but softened the look for the red carpet by using a creamy, shimmery shadow in gunmetal. This gives the eye shadow a transparent quality that makes the look very strong but also very modern.

I am always sparing with foundation but especially with Christina’s nearly flawless skin. I used NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Alabaster, which was perfect for fresh, lightweight coverage. For a hint of color, I used Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach on the apples of the cheeks, looking polished and fresh.

For Christina’s timeless smoky eye, I used Smoky ShadowBlast in Onyx Smoke on the lid from just above the crease down to the lash line. I swept out past the natural lash line at the outer corners of the eye to exaggerate the eye size and add a touch of red carpet drama.

Also, to define the lash line, I used LiquiLine Blast Eyeliner in Black Fire. This pencil defines the eye by leaving intense color at the lash line but is very blendable for a soft look at the edges. Never leave home without lush and lengthy lashes, I used LashBlast Fusion Mascara in Very Black to create just that.

Strong eyes look great paired with clean, uncomplicated skin. Keep it fresh by powdering in the T-zone only, using Clean Pressed Powder, Sensitive Skin in Ivory.

Finally, to complement the smoky eye, I wanted to use brown undertones, so I chose Lip Perfection Lipstick in Kiss, perfect for red carpet glam!
