Halle Berry @ 2011 Oscars

Halle Berry @ 2011 Oscars

Halle Berry arrives at the 2011 Oscars on Sunday, February 27th. Celebrity makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua said, “Halle’s makeup look was inspired by the lightness and shimmmer of her Marchesa nude crystal and tulle strapless gown.”

“We played up her eyes with warm browns instead of blacks, keeping them shimmery and soft edged while defining them by smoking them up and lining the inner eye. I used Revlon Luxurious Smoky Eye Pencil in Brown Smoky, and Revlon Custom Eyes Mascara in Black. To balance out the smoky eye but to still keep her look healthy and fresh, I used peaches that are soft enough yet with enough color. I applied CHANEL Powder Blush in Horizon on her cheeks, a warm glowing peach. I lined her lips with CHANEL Precision Lip Definer in Peche, a peach tone that has just enough brightness and definition, and applied CHANEL Glossimer in Petit Peche. Her base was a mixture of CHANEL Mat Lumiere Matte Fluid Makeup shades – Honey, Walnut and Chestnut. “

Scarlett Johansson @ 2011 Oscars

Scarlett Johansson @ 2011 Oscars

Scarlett Johansson arrives at the 2011 Oscars on Sunday, February 27th.

Johansson’s Make Up Artist accentuated the star’s breathtaking beauty exclusively with products from the Dolce&Gabbana range. He focused on eyes, shading and outlining them using The Smooth Eye Colour Quad in Stromboli, applying the darkest color close to the lash line on the lid and beneath the eye line. He then used the copper and bronze hues at the crease of her eye and highlighted the inner corner with a smudge of the golden tone from the palette. He finished the eyes with a sweep of The Crayon Intense Eyeliner in Gold and several coats of The Volumized Lashes Mascara in Black for volume and definition. For a effortless, natural glamour, he used The Ultra Shine Lipgloss in Candy on Scarlett’s lips. A light dusting of The Illuminator in Eva completed the look.

Speaking about the star’s glamorous look for the evening, her personal Make Up Artist said: “Scarlett was simply stunning in tones of gold and copper, offset with a sheer pink to accentuate her lips. She looked the epitome of the modern movie star.”

Duffy for Frederic Fekkai styled Presenter, Scarlett Johansson. Duffy sought to bring out ‘the real Scarlett Johansson’ by creating a young, sexy, modern shag with dry texture.

Begin by applying Fekkai Advanced Full Blown Volume™ Styling Whip to towel-dried hair, working the product in from roots to ends. Dry hair using Fekkai Classic Brush to create loose, tousled waves for the textured effect. Apply Fekkai Full Blown Volume™ Lifting Hairspray to roots to prep the foundation. At the nape of the neck, spritz hair with Fekkai Coiff™ Océanique Tousled Wave Spray. Using a 1 ½ inch curling iron wrap 2-3 inch sections of hair around the barrel of the iron, leaving ends out. Continue to repeat this action throughout, bearing in mind the way the root falls. Take a hairdryer with nozzle attachment and blast the root of the hair for hold and volume. Run fingers through the hair to break-up the waves. Clamp the ends with a flat iron to flatten the curl, creating an imperfect, sleeker wave. Finish the style with Fekkai Coiff™ Sheer Hold Hairspray to give a modern, edgy look.

Hilary Swank @ 2011 Oscars

Hilary Swank @ 2011 Oscars

Hilary Swank arrives at the 2011 Oscars on Sunday, February 27th. “I wanted to really play up Hilary’s eyes and I used her gorgeous Gucci Premiere couture dress with beautiful shades of grey and satin as my color inspiration,” shared makeup artist Monika Blunder.

To create the soft but colorful eye look, I blended silvery colors across the eye and then opened up the eyes by using COVERGIRL LiquilineBlast in Silver Spark close to the top and bottom lash line. I used the darker colors on the outside of the eye lid and then the lighter, silver colors in the inside, using COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Onyx Smoke to bring out the silver shades of her dress. I then curled the lashes (ten second hold on each eye) and added stunning volume with COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume in Very Black.

To complement Hilary’s eyes, I created a matte, flawless face and peachy cheeks for an overall soft look. I used a feathered blush brush to apply COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach in a circular motion to the apples of the cheeks. This creates a very soft, luminous look. To achieve a luxurious skin look at home, try COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation.

For the lips, I went with a very natural look, using COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Sandstone to add a pretty flush of luxurious color.
