Skintone/coloring: Fairly light, very neutral; dark-featured.

Applying: For the most part, I love a flat, dense brush. My absolute favorite is probably the double-ended brush that came with UD Naked 2. I also have a couple of Sonia Kashuk concealer brushes that work very well, particularly with more glittery shadows.

Definition: Those “useless” little brushes that came with the older Kat von D palettes. As horrible as they are for all-over application, or even highlighting the brow, they’re extremely useful for precision in the crease & inner corner. Real Techniques Detail brush is good, too.

Blending: For blending through the crease, I love e.l f. Angled Eye brush. For larger areas, Essence of Beauty double-ended Smokey Eye brush is amazing, as is Sonia Kashuk Crease brush.

I have more expensive brushes, but for some reason, the less expensive just work best for me. I went through a phase (albeit brief) of spending more money on HE brushes, but I ended up giving most of them away over the years, as I reach for the less pricey ones almost exclusively.

  7. Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool, brown hair and eyes
Favorite brush for applying eyeshadow to the lid? Mac 239 or a Sonia Kashuk brush with no number (might be the small or the medium one – white handle and it’s shaped like a 239 but a bit smaller) and I also really like the Elf C brush – larger, quite firm and great for getting the colour onto the “mobile lid”
Favorite brush for adding definition to the eye? a Posh crease brush I got years ago for next to nothing; after that, it’s probably the MAC 217
Favorite brush for blending eyeshadow? MAC 217 or 224

Favorite brush for applying eyeshadow to the lid? MAC 239
Favorite brush for adding definition to the eye? I have this Revlon Crease Brush, I’m not sure I even see it in stores anymore
Favorite brush for blending eyeshadow? MAC 217

Though honestly most of the time I’m lazy and just use the MAC 217 for everything. :)

  14. Your skin tone/coloring:
=> Light-Medium with confusing but most likely neutral undertone, N25.

Favorite brush for applying eyeshadow to the lid?
=> Either a fluffy brush with crimped ferrule if I want to blend as I apply (like MAC 217), or a regular paddle brush if I want more precision (like MAC 239).

Favorite brush for adding definition to the eye?
=> A synthetic angled brush, like MAC 263.

    Favorite brush for blending eyeshadow?
=> Either a fluffy tapered brush like MAC 222 or 224, or I just blend as I apply with my flat and fluffy brush (MAC 217 dupe).

Keep in mind that none of my brushes are actually from MAC, I mainly use a brand sold in Indonesia called Masami Shouko. They have pretty good brushes and are really good in value (my 217 dupe is under $3!)
