Happy Sunday!

How has your weekend been? If you’re lucky enough to have a three-day weekend, enjoy it! :) I think we’re going to meet my parents for dim sum today, but we’ll see. It’ll be a game time decision! I’ll be working on finishing up my MAC reviews from the past week and getting some round-ups posted today!

  1. As a girl with PCOS I’m not sure what I feel about the campaign.

    • Hopefully it will at least some additional awareness, though I think it would be harder for women to commit than it is for men to grow out their facial hair (as one is extremely well-accepted, the other not so much so) – plus, unless you’re wearing a sleeveless shirt, not everyone will know!

Pfft, you ain’t kidding. I have very sensitive skin that reacts badly to shaving, so I have to limit it to once or twice a week (less in the winter). It’s ungodly how many people – especially women! – feel the need to go out of their way to tell me I should shave if they catch a glimpse of a few stubby hairs now and then. (For the record, I generally have no problem telling them off about it. To hell with the entire gender construct.)

        • I’m surprised how many comment on it – seriously, that is so out of line!

I have a friend who epilates instead of shaving underneath her arms, because shaving is just brutal for her – me, I can shave underneath my arms every day no problem. No irritation, no bumps, nothing. If I wax my legs, I get ingrowns after ingrowns!

In fairness, it’s usually family members who give me the most stress about it, but I’ve had coworkers and friends make comments occasionally. 9_9

I actually have fewer problems with ingrown hairs on my legs, but it makes my skin very sensitive and dry, so shaving has to be followed up by extreme moisturizing. The underarms are my worst areas – not only do I get ingrowns but the occasional infected pore and rash. After awhile, I made the choice that health and comfort was more important to me than society’s demands, and I’ve stuck with it. 😛

  2. Aw, thanks so much for the link love, Christine! I feel honored :-)

  3. I know you’re crazy busy with all the mew MAC swatching/reviews, but I just have to tell you that I am waiting anxiously for your review of the Bobbi Brown, Bobbi & Kate palette when you can. Have a great weekend!

  4. I love it’s Judy time :)

    Will you review EM cosmetics?

  6. Hi Christine, just wondering: have you stopped the “What are you wearing?” feature completely?

    • Hey Anne!

We are working on redoing it/revamping it as it wasn’t getting a lot of participation previously :) We have a few other bigger projects, so it is lower priority and it isn’t immediately being worked on right this second.

      • Anne

Yay! :) I must say, I really loved that feature, since it showcased your and people’s creativity with makeup. I’m excited about your new projects!

  7. Christine,

Thank you so so much for the link love. I nearly started crying when I saw it!

    All the Best,

  8. Pami

Oooh, I’m drooling, I LOVE dim sum and sadly can’t get it where I live. I hope you got to go. Enjoy some for me! 😉

  9. I like those fuschia lipsticks! Lots of interesting links this week, I’ll be occupied reading for a while :)

  10. Deborah

Hi Christine! Will you be reviewing Michelle Phan’s makeup line?
