I’m really glad that I bypassed the NARS Foreplay. So many people, including one friend whom I trust 😉 have said the matte blushes were patchy and hard to work with. But judging by one response on the Musings of a Muse blog, perhaps some (not all) of the criticisms come from people who aren’t huge fans of matte blushes to begin with? Still, one can’t discount *all* the criticism, esp. as some reviewers don’t have that bias. What made up my mind for me though was something totally different: the size of the wells. According to almost *everyone* that I’ve read, the wells are beyond miniscule for all the shades. The Orgasm is the biggest one of the bunch and that’s just the size of an  eyeshadow! Yikes, what does that mean for the others??!!  No thanks. It may be hard, but I actually *am* capable of bypassing a NARS blush, hard as that may be to believe… <grin>So, how was the BBQ? All went smoothly? The food was good? The entertainment as expected? Did Mellan get worshipped as is his due?

    • Kafka There’s the good matte… that’s dry but soft.  Powder products can either be really dense, buttery – like UD, theBalm, etc. or they can be drier, harder in the sense that if you pressed down, it wouldn’t really move much, but they can still be soft and finely-milled – like MAC, NARS, etc. (though some of NARS’ frostier shades can be denser/more buttery, same with MAC Veluxe Pearls). Anyway, Foreplay felt more like dry and chalky and generally didn’t seem to bind well. I haven’t looked at the quantity, though, so that I have no iea.Food was excellent :) Mellan was loved up by everyone and anyone. He was completely conked out by the time dinner rolled around!  Everything went well.

BTW, there are some people who would consider the thought of 60 Jennifer Lopez looks to be “cruel and unusual” punishment. Like my ex-fiancé. Maybe I should send him the link…. <grin>

I am *so* looking forward to the launch of the Rouge Allure line. I admit it’s in large part because I find the packaging awesome, and apparently I am a hoor for classy packaging, but still, they look like awesome lipsticks, and if they’re only releasing sixteen, that’s…doable to collect, right? Yes?
