Happy Sunday!

How is everyone doing?  I feel like my weekend just zipped by.  (I’m pretty sure it had a lot to do with spending twelve hours at school yesterday, but what can you do?)  I managed to get one major thing crossed off my to-do list, though.

By the way, any must-have Asian beauty brands to look into that are available in Vietnam?  My Mom’s heading there soon, and she wanted to pick up a few things for me, but I have no idea what is available locally!

If it’s Japan, I love the brand Lavshuca for their adorable packaging, and Sofina Lucent Sunscreen.

And my favorite mascaras “Heroine Make Long+Curl”, or fiberwig “Lash Knockout” (new) are available in Korea and Japan! (And maybe other places, but I know for sure you can get them there!)

I was just there this past summer!! i didn’t find any Vietnamese brand in particular (or any that i have ever heard of) however there’s a bunch of other Asian brands like Laniege (Korean). Also, there are marketplaces where you can get anything & bargain for, including makeup but most are fakes (although i found some real limited edition MAC MSFs) and some really cheap false lashes (those were my sisters’ faves, a pair of 10 for less than a dollar). Perhaps you’re Mom can get a hold of the Asian lines from Dior or other luxury brands (most geared towards whitening that seems to be the trend there)

What’s your mom going to Vietnam for? I’ve been there several times and have yet found any “must have” items unfortunately.

    Hi Christine,
I’m so excited for your mom and you about this VN trip. I personally bought Kanebo’s Blanchir Superior White Deep Milky Conditioner (Face Moisturizer with Brightening Extracts basically) and Laneige’s Strawberry Yogurt Peeling Gel (just a strawberry yogurt face scrub with fruit enzymes). I also saw a lot of really beautiful color cosmetics available from laneige and o hui. O hui is a really nice cosmetic brand for coloring (eyeshadows and lipsticks). Most of these items are exclusive to Asia and only sold in certain malls in Vietnam. If your mom would like to purchase these, she’ll have to go into the city and go to the big malls that are oriented toward foreigners, otherwise they’ll be hard to find.

So not fair, Inglot needs to go online, I live in California and going to Las Vegas or New York is not in my radar anytime soon.

I’m not sure if it’s available in Vietnam, but I say definitely look into Lunasol (a sub-brand by Kanebo), Maquillage (sub-brand by Shiseido) and Jill Stuart if you get the chance. For more affordable brand’s, there’s always Majolica Majorca, Fasio, Kate, and Integrate.

I’d especially recommend trying Maquillage’s stick foundation if you get the chance and it interests you, as I’ve heard quite a few raves about it.

Hope your mom enjoys her trip to Vietnam, Christine!

Loved the Inglot review. Very timely, as a friend is going to Vegas and promised to pick up whatever I wanted. Very helpful. The heads up about the strawberry barium scented lipgloss was also much appreciated. Ha ha. What a terrible “drink”. Yuck!

Inglot comes from Poland. I live there and I can buy Inglot everywhere.I don’t like their products. So far I bought nail polish (3 layers needed, doesn’t last long), eyeshadow brush (harsh) and eyeshadow (big chunks of glitter, hard to blend, horror).
