Happy Mother’s Day!
How’s your Sunday treating you? Mellan (for all intents and purposes, my kid!) & I would like to wish all of our lovely moms the very best, most relaxing Sunday of the year!
Both photos above are from when Mellan was just a wee puppy (he’s almost two and half years old now), and he always was a sweetheart. A nagging, pleading, begging-with-those-eyes kind of sweetheart, that is! The mini-photo set inside the larger photo has always been one of my favorites, because the dog loves to put anything in his mouth, including himself. He won’t hold anything for long, but if you give it to him, he’ll mouth it up. Such is life with a little lab!
I made sure to get all of my homework and studying done on Friday and Saturday, so I could spend Sunday hanging out with my Mom. (Though, to be honest, I think she’s more excited to see her Mellan than me!) I love my Mom more than I could ever say. She is a such an enormous part of my support system. She’s always there for me, and I can talk to her about anything. Every year, I appreciate my Mom (and my Dad) more and more–for all their sacrifices and the challenges they had to endure from us kids. Love you Mom!

Awww! My baby Blake (Half Lab half Retriever) is that size now! my lovely little boy is 13 weeks old tomorrow. He was born to be a guide dog, and I’m dreading saying goodbye! he’s just finished inhaling his dinner is that something your mellan does? rather than eat his food he just sucks it up like a vacuum?
For us the in the UK this is just an average Sunday since mothers day was in March but I hope you’re all having a lovely mothers day, here in north of England the sun has decide to shine even though it’s a bit breezy and cold.

Mellan eats pretty fast, not quite like a vacuum, but near it! He only gets about 2/3 cup of food per meal (he gets breakfast & dinner), so it doesn’t last long!
I don’t know how I’m going to do it but we do have another dog so it wont be like a total hole but it will be very different, we knew from the start that we’d have to say goodbye but he is going to be somewhere he will be loved an amazing amount because he’s going to be somebody’s eyes and be a bit of support since he’s a very loving little guy, so I suppose it’s worth it, and we will get another puppy after Blake’s trainings done and we get to do it all over again!
Blake gets 70g of food 4 times a day since he’s only a baby and it’s gone it under a minute! he’s a food orientated boy if I’ve ever met one.
I’m also loving the superglass combo’s but I’m super happy they’ve not hit the UK yet because my purse is recovering from my PaP and Too The Beach Hauls!
So many labs are food-driven, I swear!!
But really, you are amazing for taking him in knowing you will have to give him up, even if for a great cause!

i’m mother to two furkids as well,
aoki my 2 yrs old great dane diva and snoop my 2,5 yrs old rhodesian ridgeback/american pitbull terrier.
they mean the world to me so im always happy to see other people who share that love.
Love Great Danes and Rhodesian Ridgebacks!! Does the Rhodesdian/Pitbull mix still have the ridge?

Sadly, I never had the opportunity to be a mom, in spite of being married twice & now, at 48 I don’t think it’s in the cards for me
I was, however, a Mom to two fur babies, but they both died last year. One of them was 12, the other 20! I miss them dearly. I used to cry on Mother’s Day, but I got over that a few years back!

No! He banged it up once on a zipper, and it’s kind of this mix of brown and black!

I became a mother just on Friday, picked up a 6.5 week old Pomeranian and he didn’t let me sleep! I slept 1 hour Friday night!!! Husband has pink eye and a bad flu, so I’m on a 24/7 nursing shift with no sleep =/ But it’s all worth it
Oh no!! Sounds like you are super busy! I hope hubby recovers soon and the puppy gets comfortable with his new home soon!
I’ve had the best Mother’s Day in years. I got some lovely gifts but best of all my 2 teens ( boy 18, girl 15) spent the day with me indulging me with fun and conversation instead of running around with their friends. This was the best gift ever! I know they won’t be around here much longer.

A mini-lab would sell like HOT CAKES. I know there are labradoodles and all, but not even close to a lab in look!
