I wanted to say how easy the “submit your dog” feature is on paws and kisses. I was thinking it would be a useful feature to use with the challenges that you’ve been doing on Temptalia!
*just a thought :)

Hey Toni! We may be implementing it in the future :) Probably not for challenges, only because I have five people’s photos in one entry (rather than just one person), but for looks!

Wow, this site is great! I love the tips and the reviews, though. I think there should be some coverage on Make Up Forever. It’s a REALLY good brand and I’d like to see some reviews on it :) [they have awesome eyeliner, by the way]

Hi,
Im not sure how to know if you already picked a winner for your contests.
Do you email them saying they’ve won or…?
Idk.
So maybe specifying would be good.
I’ve just found out about your website a week ago and I love it! =]
Keep it up!

I email winners, and I don’t announce winners on the blog because then I would need their permission to post their names and would have to limit contests to U.S. only and 18+ residents :(

Hi Christine, I read your blog all the time, hoping that I might absorb some of your technique and eye for makeup. You do a great job. Anyway, I think we have similar skin types and I was wondering what you use for sunscreen. With the summer months just around the corner, I need to have a light sunscreen so I don’t end up with an oily, dripping face that won’t hold any makeup. Any advice?

I use Dermalogica sunscreens (like all of them are great, IMO!). I’m also a fan of Neutrogena’s Dry Touch for really high SPFs if you need it — it’s pretty quick drying and doesn’t feel oily at all.
Also, try layering SPF products or getting a moisturizer or tinted foundation with SPF in it so you don’t have to worry so much about it holding your makeup, too!

Thanks! Do you use the Neutrogena on your face and your body? I use mineral makeup with SPF, but I’ve read that most people don’t use enough to actually get the SPF protection. BTW, I think it’s amazing you’re able to respond to every comment. Nice job :)

I use the Dry Touch on my face, and I use a cheaper body SPF (whatever I have on hand — usually SPF30 or so). I definitely don’t need SPF50+ on my body!
Thank you!

Hey!
So, I’ve been tuning in every day to your site. My mom has too and it’s really helped me with my understanding of make-up, and I wanted to say thank you for that. Also! I wanted to ask, who does your brows? Do you shape and clean it yourself? And if you do, could you do a tutorial on how to? I know there isn’t really a specific way to do so, but I clean my own brows and sometimes they don’t come out right :( And I don’t want to go to a professional to get it done, because I think its something every girl should know how to do herself, or, at least partially.

Hi Shiba,
I get my brows threaded every 6 months or so, but then I maintain them for several months. Getting them professionally threaded and shaped costs me about $8, so it’s worth it to me, IMO.
I find getting them done professionally at least once basically shows you the ideal shape for your eyes/face. Then you can have that mental picture (and take some digital photos!) to go from.

I’d love to see your reviews of this cosmetic line, the Lip Tars look so interesting and I’d love to see someone try out shades like Tar, Traffic, and RX. Tar is supposed to be an opaque black, I’d love to see what it looks like with gloss over top since I can’t seem to find a glossy black.

Christine, I was wondering if you knew anything about the Lime Crime controversy.
I am always one to give people the benefit of the doubt, but the arguments against her company seem to just be getting larger and stronger.
I mean, I don’t mind at all paying for cute, repackaged stuff. I just think its shady of her to claim that the wholesale companies stole the product from her.

Hi Christine,
Just wondering if could do a post on the difference between MAC NC and NW. I saw told I am a NW 30 concealer and today she said I am a NC 42?!?!
Thanks
Shweta
p.s. Thanks for making makeup so enjoyable!!

NC = not cool therefore you’re warm-toned
NW = not warm, therefore you’re cool-toned
Often they recommend the opposite concealer.

Hi Christine,
I was doing some research on “organic” beauty products and I bumped into this website. Check it out when you get a chance and let me know what you think. Thanks!

To be honest, I find the website, while useful in some aspects, to be too mechanized to really be as helpful as it could be. I also feel that there is a lot of fear mongering over certain ingredients and the like.

I was wondering if you would ever consider a weekly cheap/drug store review. You do a LOT of expensive reviews, and thought you might appeal to more people if more of the products you spoke about were in a decent price range <3

Hi Paloma,
I do – I have Money-Saving Mondays, which I’ve been a little remiss on for maybe the past week or two, but generally speaking, I try to fit in a few drugstore reviews on that day :)
Surprisingly, in a recent feedback survey, the majority of readers were turned off by drugstore reviews!

hi christine,
maybe this is a question…at least to me I would like the experience of others.
the situation: doing the make-up and then – when ready – thinking that it turned out differently than envisioned – but it is still nice. So: do you change? I often think about a look, but when I do it – I change it a bit while I do it or it is simply different to my idea.
also – is the time you do yur make-up the same as for your hair? It takes me (on a workday) 20 min. to do my face, but then my hair has to be quick, like 5-7 minutes. So I clearly value my face more than the hair. others? if in a hurry what to skip or minimize?
if in toilets are you never shy to touch up your face? some have the lipstick with them, others a comb. But when I come with my little bag (powder, gloss inside), I sometimes end up doing it inside the toilet cabin because I don’t want the others to watch – so a bit shy.
maybe I think about others- will let you know!

I hate primers. Eyeshadow primers are just not for me. Too done up. Maybe for weddings.
