St. Patricks Day Makeup: Green-a-palooza!

Happy St. Patricks Day! :) Here’s a wicked-to-the-bone green look for ya! What’s everyone doing to celebrate?  Oh, by the way?  Glitter doesn’t show up nearly as fun in the photos as it was in person.  I put the glitter on my lashes, lower lash line, and upper lash line and it reflected so prettily… I was like, “OOH!!” but then I was cropping the photos to post and was less ooh-ahh about it.

Mellan also wanted to wish you good day…

You will need the following…

For eyes, start by applying Primer Potion as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. With the 239 and water-based mixing medium (or water), apply True Chartreuse pigment all over the lid area. Using the 239, apply Sunny Spot eyeshadow on the middle of the eyelid. Next, apply Chronic eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the middle. Darken the outer third of the lid with Graffiti eyeshadow with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Lightly blend Graffiti eyeshadow, with the 239, into the crease. Lightly tap and brush Sunny Spot eyeshadow directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Gorgeous Gold eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. On the upper lash line, apply Acid Rain liquid liner and then overlay with Mullet glitter eyeliner for sparkle. Bring everything together by applying Graffiti eyeliner on the lower lash line and Sunny Spot eyeshadow lightly patted below the lower lash line with the 219 brush then overlay with Mullet glitter eyeliner. Finish by sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.

For cheeks, apply Refined Golden bronzer to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116. Highlight cheekbones with Amber Diamond skin shimmer with the 165.

For lips, apply Crosswires lipstick first, and then layer Instant Gold lustreglass for a complementing lip.

Christine, sorry if it’s a bit off topic, but seeing Crosswires on You made me think that maybe it resembles Ever hip from Give me Liberty of London? It’s not available here yet, and it seems lovely, but I’m trying to purchase as little ‘almost the same, but not quite’ lipsticks as possibble (unless it’s that ‘oh, it’s just what I wanted ** to be’ :) ), and I already own Crosswires.
Thank You so much! Hope You had a nice St. Patrick’s day!

  5. Hannah says:

    OMG you look absolutely stunning!
Is crosswires lipstick from MAC? Is it still available? It looks so beautiful on you and I dont normally buy lipsticks…
Also I like wearing shroom as a highlighter with green colours because (im not sure if its just me) but when I use gorgeous gold, it looks more green that gold on my skin, im not uber dark, I use MAC studio fix powder for foundation in NW35…I’ve tried using a white eyeliner as a base but it comes straight off :/
Also try gorgeous gold over a black base, a black eyeliner, pigment, eyeshadow…ANTHING! It gives the most amazing green colour :)

    • Christine says:

      Hey Hannah,

      Crosswires should be permanent! :)

I like Gorgeous Gold when I’m going for something super bold and don’t care what anyone else thinks, LOL! Otherwise I might use something like Shroom! It is a slightly green-ish gold on me, but still kind of gold, definitely not super green though.

hey christine! I love the look, especially the lips! SO pretty :)

I was wondering if you were going to do any tutorials using the Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland book of shadows?

    • Christine says:

      Hi Zoe,

I already did all the looks I planned to do with the palette. I don’t even have the palette any more, lol! I passed it along to someone I know (in real life!) who is absolutely in love with Alice in Wonderland/the palette and wasn’t able to find it anywhere to purchase it.

Awesome, glad I’m not the only one who green eyeshadow galore this morning. It was just funny to have it on so early in the morning at work, usually when I work early shifts I don’t do my make up quite so vividly because I feel like it’s just to damn early for that.

  11. shontay says:

Woo I’m wearing a look today with grafitty eyeshadow and ud glitter liner! Cept I used stage dive for a slightly more tealy look. I did also use swimming on the lid and the chartreuse color from the Nars Rated R palette on the brow bone so it looks very similar to your look! Love it, happy st pattys!

  31. make_up_maven says:

and THANK YOU for the AWESOME picture of Mellan! He’s a baby! What an awesome dog with a great temperament – he lets you “dress” him up! LOL LOVE it! :)

  32. Casey says:

    I love your puppy…what a sweet face! =)

  33. Beautiful eye makeup – great use of bold colour and nice blending!

  34. Denise says:

Oh how I love that crosswires lipstick. Too bad I never had a chance to try it! It’s LE right? *sigh*

  35. jas says:

    how can get your brows?

  36. Celia says:

Question: What do you think of retrospeck or nylon (mad) as a highlighter beneath the brow bone for this look? Gorgeous gold is too yellow on me, so I tend to use it only on the inner corner of my eyes, or the lid.
