Spring Makeup: The Fresh Bloom of Spring with Purple, Green, & Blue
One of the most important things to do when doing a look with distinct colors is to be careful not to over-blend, which is really easy, because most of us put our noses to the mirror when we’re checking to make sure we did a good job on our makeup. It’s important to take a step (or three) back, look at our work, and judge it how others are going to see us. For instance, purple and green do not make a very pretty color when blended together, so it’s important to use a light hand when layering and just barely blend so there’s no line of demarcation.
You will need the following…
- Eyes: MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot (neutral beige base), (fuchsia-purple), MAC Stars ‘n Rockets EyeshadowMAC Lucky Green Eyeshadow (medium spring-y green), MAC Moon’s Reflection Eyeshadow (gray blue), MAC Electric Eel Eyeshadow (electric blue), MAC Gorgeous Gold Eyeshadow (green-toned gold), MAC Beautiful Iris Eyeshadow (iridescent purple), MAC Femme-fi Eyeshadow (neutral highlighter), MAC Blue Herizon Liquidlast Liner (blue), Urban Decay Electric 24/7 Liner (blue-teal), Chanel Exceptionnel Mascara (black)
- Cheeks: Benefit Sugarbomb (peachy-pink)
- Lips: MAC Hue Lipstick (peachy nude), MAC Lychee Luxe Lipglass (coral)
- Brushes: 217 (blending brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 116 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes:
For eyes, start by applying Soft Ochre paint pot as your eyeshadow base all over the lid with the 249. Using the 239, apply Stars ‘n Rockets eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Lucky Green eyeshadow on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Darken the outer third of the lid with Moon’s Reflection eyeshadow with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Next, define the crease by applying Electric Eel eyeshadow with the 226. Lightly tap and brush Gorgeous Gold eyeshadow directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Femme-fi eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Sweep Beautiful Iris eyeshadow along the inner tearduct and above the inner crease with the 217. Bring everything together by applying Electric eyeliner on the lower lash line and Blue Herizon liquidlast liner on upper lash line and then sweeping lashes with Exceptionnel mascara.
For cheeks, apply Sugarbomb to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.
For lips, apply Hue lipstick first, and then layer Lychee Luxe lipglass for a complementing lip.

Hey Christine! I copied the look and I think it turned out great! :) How do I post a pic so that I can sure what I came up with? Thanks! :)
Hi Cristine: I am very pleased this look really is wonderful as is this combo of vibrant colors, all your work is so motivating, =) You look wonderful darling ... and I love it when I write at least it's a way to stay close to your artist =) Of course I have registered the newsletter that publish ... I hope to win with MAC, as the price in Mexico is quite expensive, and even more import taxes = ( Happy week =) and thanks for your hobby we enjoy many more people than you imagine. =)
Thank you so much, Lizet Luna :) You're too sweet! I am so happy you enjoy the site and good luck in the giveaway!
Wow! I love this! It's so pretty and colourful! I think it can be difficult to put different colours together sometimes, so I love the way the colours look distinct but still blended in together nicely.
Just the word spring brings joy to me then I saw this look, so perfectly blended and so pretty. I am not a rainbow eye girl, but this pastel creation is gorgeous. I am laying out all of my shadows tonight to create the look tomorrow morning. I LOVE IT!
This is one of my favorite kinds of looks! Pink/yellow/blue is such an awesome combination but can be so hard to put together into a look (at least, that's how it is for me! xD), but this is just perfect. I am so trying this! The lips also look gorgeous here. I would have thought to have done a more blue pink but the yellow pink/peach definitely works better. <333 Love it!
Thanks, Nora! I hope you give it a shot :) I think you could go lighter (same hue, but lighter) for a less intense look. I do think a really soft blue-pink could work, too. I always like more coral-y shades with golds, blues, and greens -- I think that's why I went for it!
ooh very elaborate. I tried a multi one once and it didn't turn out terribly well but I guess I could try again.
this is really pretty christine, i dont think ive ever seen another make up guru do a look similar to this, it is beautiful, i want to wear it tomorrow, what would you say is a good dupe for moon's reflection? tilt?
Ooh... So pretty and colourful. I love it. I totally forgot I have Blue Herizon Liquidlast Liner. It's such a beautiful liner! :-)
Love love love it! I want to try my hand at this look but the only product I have is the UD eyeliner. Time to shop my collection to find dupes :D
Not my favourite on you, I'm sorry to say. Technically perfect, of course, but too garish for my taste. Blues do seem to match your eyecolour perfectly!
Oh gosh you're just the best Christine! It's like a work of art on your eyes - super creative girl ;)
AVATAR! It reminds me of the beautiful colors in the flowers on Pandora! and the Battle make up on the Na VI !
Oh my goodness, the Urban Decay pencil in Electric is a nice touch. It looks so good on you! I would never dare to wear such bright colors to class/work.
