SpaRitual Holiday Nail Lacquer
SpaRitual Twinkle Collection
SpaRitual Twinkle Collection ($10.00 each for 0.50 fl. oz.) may have been a holiday collection, but it’s still available for purchase. The collection has six shades: Blue Moon (midnight violet shimmer), Shooting Star (velvet magenta shimmer), Twilight (deep amethyst purple), Illumination (silver glitter), Break of Dawn (red sparkle), and Solstice (textured gold foil).
- Blue Moon is a rich, deep violet purple with multi-colored shimmer. It’s mostly opaque in two coats. ORLY Lunar Eclipse is brighter and has a lot more shimmer. SpaRitual Illume is dustier. China Glaze First Class Ticket is darker, less violet.
- Shooting Star is a darkened magenta purple with fiery pink and copper shimmer. It’s opaque in two coats. Urban Decay Xanadu is less pigmented, lighter. MAC So Rich, So Pretty is similar but doesn’t have the same shimmer. Nubar Petunia Sparkle is brighter, more purple.
- Twilight is a blackened eggplant purple with threads of burgundy shimmer. It’s opaque in two coats. Cult Nails Enigmatic is darker, browner. China Glaze Urban Night is similar but a little redder and has no shimmer. Illamasqua Baptiste is less red-toned, blacker.
- Illumination is silver glitter suspended in a clear base. I showed two coats for swatches. It’s similar to Nubar Star Sparkle and China Glaze Tinsel, though it may be a little lighter.
- Break of Dawn is a rich ruby red with copper and gold flecks of shimmer. It was opaque in two coats. Zoya Kimmy is more orange-based. Zoya Lisa has less dimension. Zoya Gloria is more muted and rose-like.
- Solstice is a bright yellow gold glitter with a metallic finish. It’s opaque in two coats. China Glaze Champagne Bubbles is lighter, yellower. Nubar Oro is very similar, a little more molten, and doesn’t have the glitter. SpaRitual Golden Gleam is similar but doesn’t have glitter.
The majority of the shades apply beautifully; really great consistency–not too thick or too thin–so there was even flow across the nail with good color payoff with each coat. Blue Moon was slightly under-pigmented with very slight visible nail line after two coats. The consistency of Illumination was a little thick, so it tended to pool around the sides if you aren’t careful (and I wasn’t). SpaRitual always seems like an underrated brand to me–their formula usually has a nice consistency, good pigmentation, and the wear is fantastic (I get a week with minor tip wear). I’m also a huge fan of the rubberized cap, which makes it easier to grip and paint your nails!

I can totally tell that you had on the silver glitter polish and then put the red one on next. There is glitter everywhere.....rofl. I must say though I want most of them! The blue, red, purple are just drool worthy. Hmmmmmmmmm, wonder what my checking balance looks like this month? {checking now}
I find all of the shimmery or glittery polishes from spa ritual to be a little misleading. There is a duo crome and depth that you see in the bottle that doesn't show up on the nail. Some of the ones that i have been disappointed by are shooting star, blue moon and rhythm of life. However, even though this happens the resulting color is sometimes still very nice, just not what you see in the bottle. Some of my favorite spa rituals are howl, running with wolves, sacred ground, and native rock.
What a collection! I'm digging Blue Moon, Shooting Star, and Solstice, though I suspect I already own something similar to Shooting Star.
I've never heard of this brand before this post. Thanks for introducing me to something new, Christine! Shooting Star looks extra gorgy, but I wish I knew where to buy these in person. Guess I'll have to do some research to see if there's any place where I live that sells this brand.
I think they have a store locator or something like that online - I know there are a few random stores I've seen them at (like a spa one time) in person!
Thanks!! Went to the official site, and I was surprised to find there actually is a location in my state that carries em! I love being introduced to new brands!! If it wasn't for the internet, I wouldn't know about so many great products. Thanks again, Christine!
These were their holiday collection this year. I have Blue Moon and it just gorgeous. I have two of their other colors and while all three shades I have are truly beautiful, I find that they all chip quickly, like within a day or two at the mostI use the same base and top coats I've used with other brands of polish for years and had no chipping issues. Maybe I need to use Sparitual base and top coat? I've bought Sparitual at the local Aveda Institute, but they also have them at Earth Fare.
So...I kind of NEED Shooting Star and Break of Dawn. So gorgeous! And since you gave them such a good rating, i'll have to check them out for myself ;)
I really like this collection because I'm really getting into glittery nails. My all time favorite--from cyber pictures alone--seems to be Solistice! Runner up: Illumination. Break of Dawn & Blue Moon are also pretty, too!
Stunning colours, I'm quite impressed with them! I have no clue where to get the brand in Europe though, but I'm really interested in them now :).
You have created a want! Shooting Star and Illumination are gorgeous! Thanks for the swatches Christine, I haven't seen these anywhere else yet on my usual blogs! :)
Those are gorgeous shades and I agree, SpaRitual is one of the best nail polish brands out there - just very hard to trace unless you actually go to a spa which carries this line. Blue moon and break of dawn is simply gorgeous <3
