Spa Sister Microfiber Hair Towel for Faster Hair Drying?

Posted in: Hair Care, Tools

Spa Sister’s Microfiber Hair Towel($12.00) purports to quickly absorb moisture from the hair.  It’s supposed to reduce the amount of time you’ll spend blow drying your hair.  The towel is a big bigger than a regular hand towel (the “medium” sized towel - bigger than a wash cloth, smaller than a bath towel), and it is incredibly lightweight and feels quite thin.  I imagine it’s the microfiber that keeps it so featherweight.  I have long, thick hair, so I’m always on the lookout for anything that minimizes my drying time, so I jumped on this product when I heard about it.

What I liked most about the product is how lightweight it felt, because I’ll often put my hair up in a regular towel when I don’t feel like blow drying.  I find having all my hair piled up on my head is weighty enough, and the towel just makes me feel a bit dragged down.  Spa Sister’s towel doesn’t do that - I don’t even notice.  I’m sure you’re thinking, “The towel doesn’t way that much!”  It just might weigh more when the water gets transferred into the towel from my hair, though!  Anyway, in the past, whenever I’ve towel-wrapped my hair, I get a crick in my neck.  It doesn’t happen when I’ve used the microfiber towel, which is a huge plus in my book.

It does absorb a good amount of water, and the towel itself dries fast - so it’s absorbing, drying, and absorbing more faster than the typical towel.  I don’t feel like it trims a lot of time off of hair drying when I’m using it after washing my hair; it does reduce the time, but only by a few minutes.  I’d say it might make my hair drying time 20% faster.  I think it’s great for when your hair is wet, but not soaking wet (like from the shower) - like the gym or the pool.

For twelve bucks, it’s something I’d recommend to those who often towel-dry their hair.  I like it better than my regular, boring old towel.

I used to swim and the entire team used this. It’s fabulous as it dries out hair really fast. With the chlorine damaging our hair, it was a lot easier to towel dry with these instead of blow-drying and adding heat damage.
