shu uemura is on sale at HauteLook!
FYI, while I normally post most deals on the deal page only, but I know we have a good amount of shu fans here, and seriously, I’ve never seen shu on a sample sale site EVER.
Uh, AMAZING SALE. Seriously – a lot of times beauty sample sales only have a few items, but this shu sale has a TON of shu uemura products. Lots of lipsticks, pencil eyeliners, cleansing oils… even a mini eyelash curler (and yes, I do think shu makes the best eyelash curler).
My haul: two pencils (Khaki & Metallic Green), two Rouge Unlimited lipsticks (Gold & Purple), Diamante false eyelashes (because they’re so pretty and I couldn’t resist), and a pressed eyeshadow in Pearl Green (reminded me of MAC’s Lucky Green from the photo!). There were so many more things I wanted, but I had to resist for the sake of my bank account!

So yesterday my older sis gave me all this makeup she's not using, I scored the jackpot! I told myself ok, no more makeup buying for a long time but I couldn't resist this sale! I got the diamante lashes too (I'm a false eyelash freak, I hardly even wear them, I just like collecting!) and the gold eyeliner.

I was thinking of getting something, but my the time I paid shipping and the 18% fee for international fees, the item would be the same as regular price at Holt Renfrew. Oh well. Some great items on sale though.

D'oh. Went overboard. Got Rouge Unlimited Pink (don't remember if it was 310 7A or 300 7A, ha) Drawing Pencil Metallic Light-Blue Pressed Eye Shadow Pearl Yellow Mini Eyelash Curler (not that I ever curl my eyelashes but hey, when in Rome!) Portable Natural Brush 14 (Karen of MBB highly recommended this one) Really a little bit too much, but for $70 with shipping...I don't think I could get a similar MAC haul for that little :)

It's ok. The prices weren't too great once you add the international fee & shipping. I'll just get some cleansing oil at Holt Renfrew after payday.

It's ok really. It's actually better for my wallet. It gives it more time to recover from getting 2 MAC lipgloss sets and the MIA last week ;)

Christine, I know nothing at all about shu - do you have any recommendations for particular products to check out? What do they do best in terms of color cosmetics?
They're actually a really well-rounded brand. I don't have an extensive shu collection by any means, but I've always liked their lashes (GORG!), lipsticks (very creamy and wear well), and their eyeshadows are lovely (soft and pigmented). I like their Cleansing Oils, too -- oh, and of course, the eyelash curler is TOPS.
Thanks for the recs, Christine! I will have to be reasonable so I will probably pick out a couple of good, wearable things like the curler and a nice everyday lipstick :)

I found out yesterday about this sale and I was at my computer and ready at 8am sharp! I picked up two eyeshadows, the gold blush and travel brush set. Does anyone know if the quality of Shu's brush sets is equal to their individual brushes? 50 bucks for four shu brushes was amazing!
HAHA! That was me, Anja! I was like, OH OH YES! I don't know about their sets - haven't heard either way. Sorry!
I guess I'll find out when it gets delivered! I can't wait!
Based on what the brushes are made of, they seem like they'd be great quality! At least I hope so because I picked up a set, too! :)
Is that a good site to use? I noticed in their Terms and Conditions that if they decide to change them and start charging people to use the site they can so that kind of worries me. I'm not sure if that means they would send you a bill or what. Do you know?
I've been buying/shopping with HauteLook for over two years now, I think - basically since it launched. I've never had them start charging or anything like that... As with a lot of Terms and Conditions, they put flagrant language that's like "we can do whatever we want whenever we want without letting you know." Doesn't necessarily mean they can actually do such a thing!
Thanks for the heads up Christine! I love me some shu, but it's so darn expensive! I will definitely pick up some items here. $13 for a lipstick? Seriously unheard of!!!
OMG, I know. It's RIDICULOUS! I'm just REALLY, really pleased with the *variety* and *size* of the sale. I mean, I'm happy to see a few items - you never know what might be on sale. I take what I get at 50%, y'know? But wowza!! This has to be one of the best beauty sample sales I've seen to date.
