Rescue Beauty Lounge Drifter Nail Lacquer

Rescue Beauty Lounge Drifter Nail Lacquer ($18.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) is described as a modern, sexy take on sultry, lush plum.  It’s sold out and not sure if it’ll ever return, but in case it does, this post will be here for all eternity as a reference.  Plus, perhaps together we can find dupes.  This is a really rich, deep dark plummed burgundy cream.  I only needed two coats for complete opaque color, but one was nearly enough.  The closest shade I could think of to dupe this is Essie’s Masquerade Belle, which is slightly less plum.

my thoughts on the formula: These are richly pigmented lacquers that have nuances in both the color and finishes. Each color is well-thought out, and I’ve yet to come across a poor performer in the brand’s color range. I needed two coats for opaque coverage.

I like how it's a very deep, dark shade, but it doesn't look black in low light; it still retains the luxurious burgundy-plum look.

That varnish is smooth! I love that shade of varnish, I use it in Nails Inc and Rimmel!

    • Yuen-Ting

oh, nails inc in Victoria could come close for a dupe..or Rimmel (I love lasting finish) in Black Cherries …maybe?!

  2. PorcleIain

It looks really similar to, but perhaps slightly redder than, Beauty UK’s shade ‘Burgundy’ (no. 38). I don’t know if that’s any use to Stateside readers, but here in the UK you can buy it in Superdrug for a really low price. It’s a pretty good quality polish too!

I just bought some rbl’s like 10 seconds ago. I really wanted this but it was sold out. If it ever comes back in stock it will be mine! It does remind me of sally hansen complete salon manicure in plum luck only a little lighter and redder.

Dior’s Black Plum is pretty close, though discontinued as well.

  5. Tiffany

It’s on my toes right now, and I, too, love that it holds it’s color in low light!

    CG evening seduction?

  7. That’s SOOOOO pretty. I’m in love. <3

  8. Avatar of AS AS

Ha! It’s so shiny and smooth there’s a self-portrait reflected in the nails!

Essie Wicked? I actually do not think this color is at all unique. I could probably go to Ulta right now and pick up 10+ similar colors

    • Mia

I agree with you on this color being very common. I’ve seen exact dupes in loreal, revlon, and ulta brand polishes. Nonetheless, it’s still a pretty color but definitely not unique.

  10. Lindsay

Wow, this color is GORGEOUS. I’ve never spent $18 on a polish but given the chance, I might have to for this one!

  11. Elaine

This looks really really similar to Rimmel Lycra Wear 10+ in colour 403 Hypnotise!!

  12. Jessica

I’d say it’s similar to OPIs Lincoln Park after Dark.

  13. P

I suggest Revlon Vixen as a dupe

wow it almost looks like Mac So Scarlet lipstick in nail polish form. ^_^

  15. ak

It’s gorgeous but that type of color on the nails usually is for most people.

Wonderful! In fact it is sold out! :-D I still don’t know why companies continue to produce the same boring red colours, while the time they produce something like this, it is immediately sold out! :-D
