Usually, thicken mascara means that the brush bristles are wider apart, which deposits more product on your lashes – which .. makes lashes a mess (to me anyway).

Thickening mascara is a big no-go for me. My lashes are quite long and close together, so it makes a big, big mess if I wear that kind of mascara. And it also makes it look like I’ve only got around four lashes, which I don’t like.

My lashes can never be too full, so I *always* go for volume over length every time. I also find volumizing mascaras to be less “wet”, which is preferable to me, as it means less of a mess.

I’ve noticed a huge difference between “thickening” mascaras and “volumizing” mascaras, though I think we all tend to see them as the same thing. I absolutely cannot wear thickening mascaras (UD Supercurl and Almay One Coat Thickening, for example) but I love love love volumizing formulas like CoverGirl Lash Blast and L’Oreal Voluminous. “Thickening” makes my lashes very clumpy, dry and messy looking, but “volumizing” gives me full, lush and soft looking lashes. Love them.

I love thickening mascara because my lashes are non-existent without it, so I love how much of a difference it can make with my eye m/u look. What I dislike is that some of my favorite ones become dry too fast, after only a few months. Others end up being very clumpy because of the formula. It’s hard to find the perfect thickening mascara – I’m still trying.

I have yet to find a thickening mascara that doesn’t equal clumping. I don’t really have a need for thickening mascara which is why I haven’t gone hunting for a higher end, potentially better quality one. The drugstore brands I have tried left my lashes a clumpy hot mess, and the product itself tended to dry way too quickly. They’re a no-go for me. For me it’s more about volume, curl and especially length all in one.

I normally go for thickening mascaras or mascaras that claim to do both.  Whenever I buy lengthening mascaras, I’m disappointed.  I know this sounds silly, but I usually get great length out of mascaras that are thickening, L’oreal Voluminous, & Almay One Coat Thickening comes to mind.  I get the best of both worlds out of thickening mascaras.  Whenever I use lengthening mascaras my lashes look so puny that you can’t even see the lengthening effect.  Speaking of Almay One Coat Thickening, it’s amazing and super cheap.

None have ever worked for me.

    CLUMPING!!!    FLAKING!!!!

Even if they aren’t particularly clumpy, I find them to feel kind of thick when they dry. I always end up wanting to scrape it off, and some cheaper thickening stuff makes lashes fall out when you wash it off.

Well there really isnt much to say lol. Of course I wouldnt like my mascara think or clumpy..hopefully everybody does. Now thicking is a problem, however, super runny watery mascara is awful! The moment any moisture touch its, it just smears under your eyes, in your  eyes and all around your eyes making you look like a devestated racoon that been crying for hours.

GA Eyes to Kill (either formula – regular and stretch) are both incredible thickening mascaras.  I also find that they work even better with continued use.
Also, the new Guerlain (Noir) refillable mascara also adds thickness although this one has the potential to clump (and expensive) but is a great thickening mascara.

GA Eyes to Kill (either formula – reg or stretch) are fantastic for volume.  I find that they get even better with use.
Also, the new Guerlain (Noir?) refillable mascara is quite good for volume but this one (expensive!) has the potential to clump (but worth the elbow grease, imo).
