  1. I love and need my WELEDA handcreams. They are organic so not the cheapest, but you need a small amount for the best resulats. I have both, the red one and the sea-buckthorn one. Love’em.
I cannot stand creams that feel sweaty, or too stronlgy perfumed stuff.

  2. YoYoYo

I just use my face or body moisturizer. Usually companies just rebrand and what not, so no point, for me, to dish out extra money for the same thing.

  3. starr

i definitely need hand cream in the winter because my hands get so dry they crack and bleed o.0 i love sweet smelling scents and so just usually pick up a lot of travel sized lotions so i can have one everywhere! I don’t like hand creams though that don’t absorb well because it leaves grease on everything i touch

  4. Vanessa

I REALLY hate the super-scented hand creams. I don’t really want everyone within 10 metres of me knowing that I just pulled out some super-floral hand cream and basted my hands with it.

  5. Dana

L’Occitane is the best! Non greasy, absorbs fully and quickly, and not heavily scented, and is very moisturizing. It’s everything I can ask for in a hand cream.

  6. Heather

I actually love Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Hand Creme. . . it runs about $7 a bottle and is awesome. Unscented, totally moisturizing, and doesn’t leave that gunky slick feeling that some cheaper lotions do. LOVE IT! It’s the only thing that saves my hands and knuckles in the winter.

    • Aloix

YES!! I love this one so much. I use the Body Creme on my hands at night as well, it’s too greasy for otherwise. And I use the Lotion on my body after showering if I feel dry. A great product line, overall.

I hate greasy hand creams so I actually check ingredients to make sure there’s no mineral oils. People don’t realize that mineral oils don’t absorb into our skin! I also have really sensitive skin so I can’t use anything overly fragranced. My favorite of the moment is Arbonne’s FC5 Ultra Hydrating hand cream. I also agree with the person who mentioned Weleda, although even their fragrances can be too much for me at times. I have also used the Ahava hand creams in the past with success, but it’s been years.

  8. Martha

All depends: type of skin, (mine is very dry) and, currently, I’m living in Edmonton which it means cold dry wether. What works for me, is cheap cream, with glycerin and lanolin included in the ingredients, and, yes! my hands feel a little bit sticky but after all the ingredients are absorbed my hands feel pretty good!

  9. I like Gold Bond Ultimate Healing lotion and I also have some Aveeno Daily Moisturizing lotion. My hands are incredibly dry right now though so I’m looking for new suggestions.

  10. Torrie

I like keeping a small tube of hand cream in my purse when I’m out…but otherwise just use my Palmer’s Cocoa Butter. I wash my hands a lot during the day and Neutrogena hand cream keeps my hands and cuticles looking great. And the tube has lasted for months…so I don’t mind the extra $6 every now and again.

  11. Lisa

I either use Crabtree & Evelyn’s La Source or Weleda’s Skin Food. I can’t live without either.

  12. I love L’Occitane hand creams. The Shea Butter one is fantastic, non greasy and so moisturising.

    • Rosamaria

My HG hand cream, as well. Love it!

      • Lonz

Aveeno Intensive Relief hand cream gets my vote for best cream ever. It has absolutely no scent (YAY!), absorbs completely without any trace of greasiness, and actually lasts through hand washing. I can’t stand putting on hand cream and then leaving greasy fingerprints on my keyboard or phone. Yuck!

    • Julia

L’Occitane and C&E La Source are my HG hand creams, slathered on every night before I go to bed. I keep a Bath & Body Works scented tube in my purse for whenever.

For me, there is a huge difference in regular lotion vs. hand cream. For years I was a serious nail biter and I could never break myself of the habit. Once I started doing at home manis my nails got better, but my cuticles were still torn up and my hands were so dry. Enter Lush’s Lemony Flutter, AKA my hand saver. It seems a little expensive at first, but the tub is so big it should last a while. I love to coat my hands in this before I go to sleep. When I wake up they’re like silk. I can’t live without this stuff.

  14. Kaylynrenee

Anyone use Clean’s antibacterial hand cream? It’s expensive but I love it’s claims! Haven’t really used it though and would love to hear what any of you think!

  15. izabela

Love: Bath & Body Works lotion (:
Hate: Sometimes lotion makes my hands slippery and it gets annoying :P

  16. I cannot live without hand creams. My hands are always very dry and I have to use handcream, even in the summer, although less frequently, but definitely at night. My Mum’s always used Nivea cream and I use that too, love the scent and it’s great. :)

  17. Nina

Neutrogena’s Norwegian Hand Cream and Burts Bees Cuticle Lotion for me. Awesome combination – keeps my dishwasher hands soft and my cuticles under control!

  18. Vanesa

I prefer Crabtree & Evelyn Gardener’s Rejuvenating Hand Remedy. It doesn’t have a greasy feeling to it but it does have a pronounced scent of rosemary, and sage. Great product for the winter especially if your constantly washing your hands throughout the day.

  19. Dani

I hate most scented hand creams and I hate when they make my hands feel greasy or sweaty. I recently purchased the Jack Black Industrial Strength hand cream for my bf and I love it. I never have to apply it more than once a day. At first it has a medicinal smell but it disappears in less than a minute. It also absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave me feeling greasy or sweaty.

I’ve been using Camille Beckman’s Tuscan Glycerin and Honey on my hands and feet for a week and am totally in love! it comes in unscented too. I can’t beleive how it has helped my ragged cuticles and dry feet. I purchased at a small shop at the beach.

  21. Linnea

Hand creams: Love the feeling they give, hate the smelly stuff.
I don’t like the ones that don’t sink in, so you have greasy hands for 30 minutes. FRUSTRATING! Thus, I usually use body lotion on my hands, unless that need a really big pick me up.

One of my favourite extreme hand creams is the hemp one from body shop. It smells disgusting though, so every-time I stoop to use it, I hate it. Love the feeling though.

  22. Gisele

The hand creams I use vary by season but I like the lemon one by Williams-Sonoma (a surprise); Lubriderm unscented (light, absorbs well, cheap); Tocca handcream in Stella (a tiny bit is all ya need); and, at night, Aquaphor.

I used to use L’Occitane but their shea butter hand cream (top seller) now has silicones which give my hands little bumps. I use the Norweigian formula with sunscreen for driving, and it’s fine but the “fragrance” is a bit annoying. Still, for SPF it works great and is cheaper than using facial sunscreen.

  23. Anna

I need hand creams. My hands get so dry and I absolutely hate the feeling. I love L’Occitane, but being an Art student is wayyy expensive, so I’ve recently bought Gold Bond Softening Lotion. It’s nice, but I don’t love it. I may go back to Neutrogena Norwegian Formula for the time being, but I’d love some new suggestions if anyone has some.

From one artist to another, Neutrogena’s intensive relief hand cream is my HG. It lasts through multiple hand washings and it more affordable than L’occtaine (which is my favorite too)

  24. nicci

I just started using Caudalie Hand and Nail Treatment and so far I really like it. It took forever to find a hand cream that is not greasy and that actually works! I tried Ahava and it smelled nice but was too greasy and didn’t seem to really sink in.

  25. Ale

Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve is the BEST hand cream ever!! Non greasy and it soothes and moisturizes like a dream!!! Definitely worth trying!!!!
    Can’t live without it!

  26. Yumi

I can’t live without hand creams. I use some every time I wash my hands. LUSH helping hands is my HG. :)

  27. Christine

I am a hand cream fanatic. There’s always one floating around in my bag. My daily hand cream is Kiehls’ Ultimate Hand Salve. I love this cream, it smells clean and fresh and it actually moisturizes my hands. Body Shop’s hemp hand cream and L’Occitane’s shea butter hand cream – both do their job and I love each equally but they are quite thick and needs time to absorb. Kiehls’ does it’s job moisturizing AND it absorbs fast! Love it.

My other great hand cream love is Jurlique’s rose hand cream. It is crazy expensive ($60 CAD for 125 ml) but it WORKS and smells so wonderful. I use it mainly for when I go to bed. My hands can get quite rough and this cream works to just make my hand so soft.

  28. Heather

body shop’s hemp hand creme. nuff said

  29. Love hand cream – without it my hands can be somewhat chapped in the Canadian winter climate (it can get pretty cold and dry). I LOVE Soap and Glory “great shakes” hand cream. It’s well priced, adorable and smells nice but the scent doesn’t linger – good because I don’t need the smell of my hands interfering with the other scents I may want to wear!

Before go to bed, I love put on my hands some rich cream, sometimes with coton gloves, like The soft Touch of Lush or Almond Oil Intensive Hand Rescue by Body Shop. During the day, I prefer light formula like Nivea Soft Cream or L’Occitane. This summer it’s L’Occitane Bergamot Tea, a delicate scent, not to heavy.

  31. I mix my own with aqueous cream, almond oil, lavender, bergamot and lemongrass aromatherapy oils.
Works best for my super sensitive skin. And it smells just fabulous.

  32. Jeng

As of the moment I’m using 2 handcreams, 1 is from Lush helping hands which is very greasy that I can only use before I sleep, the 2nd one is from L’occitane which is my day cream because it is so “absorbent”, women should take care of their hands because someone said to me that it is important because the skin(hands) tends to age quickly. But would like to try a handcreams from khiels, which I heard is the best.

    • Kiels is not the best ;-) might be the best for you still!
It is true though that you see the age of a person on her hands.
Remember Karl Lagerfeld always wearing handgloves? Guess why.
Like Hair, skin, also hands and feet should be maintained;-) what’s the use in wearing the most expensige high heels but having not been to the pedicure?! Gross.

  33. Svetlana

I always have Shiseido Benefiance protective hand revitalizer in my purse and I really love it!

  34. Carla

I Like both Walgreens Medicated Healer Hand Lotion and Shiseido ‘Benefiance’ Protective Hand Revitalizer SPF 8 – they have very different prices, but they are both very goood!
