Project Revamp

If you could revamp Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, what would you change? What would you keep the same? How would you make it an even better product?

  1. I love the packaging, but I wish it was a little more sheer. Sometimes I feel like it’s too close to a foundation.

I absolutely love Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer. I use the oil-free one because I do have acne prone skin. There is definitely one thing I would like to change. I have noticed that if I do have a blemish or two & it is in the drying out phase, the moisturizer sticks to that spot & does not soak in completely. Therefore you end up with a colored blemish mark on your face. It looks how concealer looks on a blemish after you dab it on but before you blend it in. That part has always bothered me about this moisturizer. I usually have to take a damp q-tip to blend it in fully. I guess if you are fortunate enough to not have any blemishes, then this wouldn’t be an issue for you and the product may be perfect as is. It really is fabulous overall!!

Because its not sheer, a wider range of colors would be amazing – I’m between Porcelain and Nude and never get a perfect match.

More colors, its not sheer enough for me to be able to use Porcelain which is a bit dark for me.

i like the coverage…i wouldnt make it more sheer at all but def more shade options. also longer lasting would be a plus!

Create a broader color range. Tawny is the closest to my skin, but it still is too “off”… especially since it’s not as sheer as Stila’s.

I like this product but I wanna love it! I think the color selection is lacking a bit.

I love the Mercier line but have abandoned it because they are super stingy with the shades. When I wear the Walnut tinted moisturizer people stare at me, and not in a good way, because it’s close to my complexion but a bit off. And, that brings up the question of how they decide what shades to make – public poll? Oh, these are just good enough for everybody? I only care about these skin tones?

Alright, that was more than one question but I feel very left out of the line.

Oh, and I’d change it by making more shades, marketing to a wider audience, creating buildable coverage with no streak possibility. A tinted moisturizer is perfect for the summer so it should last while providing a flawless finish, protect from the sun and improve the skin surface better with the addition of some miracle peptide.

  9. It doesn’t contain any UVA blocking sunscreen ingredients. Talk about a waste.

I started out with the regular (non-oil free) formula of Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturizer and agree that it could be a little more sheer – then switched over to the Illuminating tinted formula, which is the same line but it’s more sheer and creamier! The best part I love about it is that it gives my skin a super dewy iridescent glow that topped Nars Brightening Serum that costs twice as much.
    Huge difference =D

I would love to see they improve on a higher SPF number.. I’m very cautious of sun damage to the skin and sometimes I wish I didn’t have to use another higher SPF product under it on my lazy days. :P

Add zinc as a sunblock & remove any fragrances – keep it as natural as possible so people with exczema or sensitive skin won’t get breakouts. Perhaps some iridescent properties (not glittery speckles, more like a pearl-like tone) to make skin look dewy and fresh.
