Project Revamp

If you could revamp Benefit BeneTint, what would you change? What would you keep the same? How would you make it an even better product?

I’d make it a gel solid, like Prescriptives Voodoo used to be. The spillability and breakability of Benetint scares me. It makes it hard to apply with that narrow brush. Also, because it takes up valuable baggie space when I travel.

I kind of like that it’s a liquid because gel ones always leave a mark or settle into my pores like a gunk. I really hate how the labels rub off and get all over my fingers every time I touch it, though. Also, the brush is really tickly on my lips and I hate that. Otherwise, I love the product

i dont hav benetint but i hav high beam. and i hate how it collects on the inside of the lids and the outside of the container. so if the packaging could be changed or something

i would get rid of the taste, it’s horrible, like rose cleaning product. i don’t like wearing mine because of it.

  5. anyone mind sharing how you use this i have it because it was a gift but idk how to use it

    • Sarah

I use it by painting two thin lines across my cheek where I want the blush to be, and then I use MAC’s 188 brush to blend it out so my fingers don’t get dirty and I can rush out to class

I would change the plastic top to glass or sturdier and thicker. I twisted the cap on too hard and totally broke off a piece of the inner threaded plastic. And use a label that stays on.

I put three dots (like Orion’s belt)on my cheek and blend. If you have dry skin it could stain immediately, but if you use it on just moisturized skin it spreads fine. For lips, I dot it on then use my finger to spread evenly.

LMFAO I totally agree with you….I had the same problem, partly because I was afraid that if I didn’t make it close so tight it might spill out and ruin something. My cap broke and so I returned mine. I couldn’t be bothered by it. If anyone is planning on trying it I would suggest picking up a benefit kit that contains the ‘trial vial’ of it or wait for it to pop up again as a sephora beauty insider deluxe sample.

  7. I find that it kind of settles into weird spots. And it also stains my finger!!

I got one as a gift. To be honest, I very much dislike the product. Sure, it is “fun” for some to use, especially for beginners, but I got used to MAC blushes, both creme or powder. I think if they made it into a creme form it would be so much more consumer friendly. For now, I will definitely stay away from it.

P.S.: In fact, I very much dislike the entire Benefit line of products. But that’s only my personal humble opinion.

    Uggg…the smell. Its disgusting!

The color is gorgeous for the cheeks and lips that last all day. I just don’t like the ‘tint’ part though that stains finger!

I love Benetint- it’s so versatile and I am a big fan of the rose tint. I’m a big fan of Benefit in general, and used to work for them, and my absolute fave way to use this is to do what Benefit calls the “jelly donut” – a combo of Benetint (or posietint) and Highbeam (or moonbeam). I combine them on the back of my hand and dab the mixture along my cheekbone- a beautiful sparkly highlight and blush combo.

the smell/taste! i get that they’re going for that old-timey classic product sort of marketing, but it’s just gross. i like the liquidity, but also am afraid to just pop it in my purse for fear of it leaking/breaking. for that reason, it doesn’t get used as much as my other lip colours/glosses.

  13. jess

It’s orange and makes me look like an oompa loompa. I’d change that first.

    • jess

Errr, ignore that. I had it confused in my head with You Rebel! I don’t really love benetint or really hate it. It’s just kind of ‘meh’ for me.

  14. Lena

The container could use an update. I leave it on my counter, because I am afraid of breaking it. It’s quite fragile. Also, a small roller ball would be nice for application purposes. :-)

    • Danielle

That is a really awesome idea! Although, knowing how this product is a pain to work with – it might actually lead to streaky application which could make it even more annoying to blend in, but I think it’s definitely a great suggestion!!!

  15. Smell and taste for sure…that’s why I have never bought it!

  16. Claudia M.

It is kind of bulky and not great for traveling, so I poured mine into an empty lorac tint tube with the rollerball top. I completely forgot it had a brush til I read this page, it’s so much easier now. Sometimes I do wish it were thicker like a gel or a cream, but everything else breaks me out, so I’ll stick with the liquid for now =)

i’ve got it but only used it a few times im scared im puttin it on wrong so i stopped using it and plus a few days after i got it it spilled n half the ottle went…so therefore i wud change the packaging of it

  18. Beth

i would love the strawberry gloss

  19. Shweta

    1) change the bottle – its breakable, hate the applicator…reminds me of a nailpolish bottle.
    2) a little more color please – i am medium olive skin tone and it takes at least 5 or 6 times for it to show up on my skin color. maybe a more concentrated ones for different skin tones.
    3) love the smell!! (didn’t know people hated roses that much!)

  20. Hannah

The brush tickles my lips & it is not easy to apply to the lips.
    I like the smell.

  21. Lissa

I would change the brush tip into a large sponge tip, or else make it have a thicker consistency, and also make it easier to blend in!

  22. Mandy

The only thing I would change is perhaps have the stain’s staying power a bit stronger; the benetint I bought 8 years ago seemed to last longer…I have slight suspicions tha the formula has been tweaked over the years.

Other than that, please don’t change the product! I have been using this religiously for almost a decade (omg) and I don’t know what I would replace it with. Love the liquid, love the color, love the applicator – with a little bit of practice learning how to use it, it’s almost perfect!
