I got this on sale from Urban Decay’s website because I thought it would work great to help darken some lipsticks I have (particularly MAC’s Rebel). While it works great for that purpose, it’s definitely not very wearable on its own, as it makes my lips look oddly gray: it’s not opaque enough to turn my lips black but not sheer enough to just darken the natural pink tint. It does add a very pretty, super-glossy, super glittery sheen on top of lipsticks though.
Otherwise, it just feels like a typical Lip Junkie gloss: thin, nicely mint-scented, with a tingly feeling due to the plumping stuff in it (I find that the tingling comes through more when the gloss isn’t applied over lipstick).
I really like this gloss as a more neutral shade because it has just enough colour to warm up the face, but not so much that you’re limited in terms of what eye make up you can wear it with. These glosses on the whole are wonderful in texture because they are not remotely sticky, but actually feel really pleasant when you rub your lips together. The best description I can give is that it almost feels like your lips are laminated. The scent is also really nice because it’s so minty and sweet, however I don’t really notice the supposed lip-plumping it’s meant to provide. The packaging itself is really nice too.
Get hooked on shine, without the sticky hangover. Lip Junkie features a soft, luxe texture, stay-put shades and tastes like wedding mints. Addicted yet? You want a super-shiny gloss, but can’t stand the sticky texture, right? Wait till you feel the soft, cushiony texture of this gloss! Lip Junkie stays put longer than other glosses, but never feels gummy or gooey. It comes in a range of pretty amazing shades (if we do say so ourselves), and the color payout is amazing. Take your pick from sheer pretty neutrals, kick-ass brights, or glimmering near-black. And the flavor? Think yummy wedding mints… a sweet mint with a little zing that makes breath feel fresh.
