Just a heads up that the matte formula is being discontinued and being replaced with the new MACximal Silky Matte formula. All the previous shades are available in the new formula along with new shades and ruby woo in yet another finish. Personally I'm glad the matte formula has been discontinued and replaced as I find it terribly drying and gives my lips eczema flare ups.

This is my best lipstick. It's bright, beautiful and light my smile. Whenever I wear, I got many compliments from my colleagues, even my dentist!. So sad, I cant find this lipstick anymore in Australia :(

Dubonnet is such a wonderful deep red color, but I simply can't get align with how creamy and slippery is the MAC Amplified formula. It's a 5 star for the color, 1 star for the formula. I would highly recommend it to people who enjoy this type of formula because Dubonnet is the kind of dark warm red that suits most skin tones and situations. The Amplified formula smudges very easily, transfers easily when I drink, eat or even talk too much; still, it has decent pigmentation from the first swipe. I guess I enjoy too much satins and mattes.

This was darker than I expected based on the lip swatch. I’m a light olive complexion and this looks like a medium-dark taupey brown on me, even grey in some lighting. Despite that, I still love colors like this. Kind of has an edgy/ 90’s grunge vibe on me. Originally I got this because I saw it was close dupe to “Hug Me” (a fave in my collection) except fully opaque and long-lasting. It’s actually quite different. I can see this being a beautifully pigmented fleshy pink on deeper skin tones though, which makes sense being part of the Wakanda Forever collection. If you’re melanated, run don’t walk. It’s your perfect nude to use with a brown lip liner or on its own.

MAC Dare You is a medium-dark red, with slight warm brown undertones. It's quite similar with multiple other MAC red shades, easily dupable in other formulas. I'm light medium with warm yellow undertones, the shade is flattering on me, it's a dark red that's quite wearable during the day. The Creemsheen formula from MAC is as always comfortable and moisturizing, but it's not my favorite since it's slippery and moves a lot during the day (bad when you talk a lot or sip water often); might be better paired with a lip liner. The pearl finish is almost unnoticeable, but gives a satin look that makes the lips appear more plumped. It has a decent color payoff from the first application, but not full opacity; it can be build up, but not too much.

The color is very unique, even as a purple lipstick collector. Muted and brown-toned, without being too warm, and still reading as distinctly purple. It stays put nicely, and has good opacity. Only thing is, it can be a bit dry on application, which docked it half a star, but doesn't dry out the lips. I'd consider this more of a comfort matte formula, it can transfer a bit, but just going about your day and drinking a bit, it'll look fine. One way I like to wear it is as a faded/ombre lip, kinda inspired by the K-Beauty looks, and it blends nicely for that.

I have a mini in this color and I love it! I bought the maybelline dupe listed and was disappointed. The color was close, but the finish was shimmery. I'll stick with Mehr and breakdown and pay full price for the full tube instead of trying to find a dupe. Love this shade of pink!

The formula was very hard to apply, the colour didn’t look good on me either. Instead Of a nice brown it was a “dead purplish”. I got it as a birthday present and really wanted to love but instead kept it for around 5 years and just today threw away almost unused. I also don’t like that the brand is not cruelty free still

MAC Yash comes in the matte formula I love, but it's just not the most flattering color for me. Yash comes up quite warm toned against my complexion (light-medium with warm yellow undertones). It's a peachy brown nude, which depending on your skin tone won't show at all, give dead lips vibes or be the perfect nude. I have quite pigmented lips and Yash just give me an unflattering warm toned tint. The pigmentation is semi-opaque, and there's not too much building that can be done beyond 2 layers; the formula is thick, so it looks bad when layered. Otherwise, it's a long lasting and comfortable formula, long lasting, not drying, but emphasizing lip lines.

I've owned MAC's "PLEASE ME" for several years by now. I always like it as a lipstick I would grab every now and then. It used to reside in my lipstick drawer, but I didn't use it as much, since sometimes it applies a bit funny (a bit uneven, when my lips get dry and flaky). My one true love is Estee Lauder's Potent (310), but the company discontinued it. That's when I started searching for a decent dupe. I've tested every possible one I found on Temptalia's dupe list, but some of them are also discontinued. And one day, I just thought "Why don't I just use "please me" to see if it compliments this eye makeup?" and it all came together. Those two lipsticks may not look identical in the tube, but on my lips are almost the same colour (potent is a bit warmer and lighter-nothing I can't look past). Ever since that day, it lives comfortably in my everyday makeup bag, ready to be used and cherished whenever I get to go on a night out. It definitely isn't an everyday shade (one I would wear to work or a morning stroll with friends) but it's perfect for a night out, paired with brown smokey eyes, to brighten up the makeup and make it look fresh and youthful. Just use some lip balm to hydrate before applying it and you're ready to go.

For me this was a great alternative to Ruby Woo, which is such a beautiful color, but the Retro Matte formula is too drying for me. (Of course now that I have found Temptalia, I can see all of the non-matte dupes for Ruby Woo!)

My go-to lippy for when I am looking a little drab. My complexion is very contrasted and needs bright colours to keep it looking its best. This lippy does just that. Give it a try if you have neutral or neutral-warm undertones and a highly contrasted complexion. Works best when paired with lip liner, dewy skin, and a natural eye.

Ruby Woo is the perfect shade, but it's a *Retro Matte* and quite drying. MAC has what I think is a virtually identical shade of true red, but it's a Matte formulation, very comfortable to wear and stays put. It's called Red Rock and I highly recommend it.

My all time favourite MAC lipstick. The coverage is excellent, it's matte without being dry, and it has good longevity. It's a good nude for a pink based fair skin, as it has some pink and and some peach to it, so it doesn't look too flat against this skin tone.

MAC Mehr is one of those cult lipstick colors, and I clearly understand why. First of all, it's the MAC Matte formula that I like, comfortable, quite hydrating, staining the lips and fading out nicely during the day, long wearing. Mehr maybe was a little more creamy than other MAC Mattes, while the finish is more satin than matte. For reference, I'm NC20 with naturally pigmented lips, with a mauvish hint. Mehr looks darker on me than on Christine (I'm an NC20), it's not a subtle my-lips-but-better, but it's still wearable for everyday. The color looks even more mauve on me, but my warm yellow tone complexion makes it look more cool than warm; I guess it matches the description on MAC website "dirty blue pink".

I got this as a Back to MAC choice. I love MAC's Amplified Cream finish - I think it's my favourite of all their regular lipsticks but I thought I'd exhausted all the shades in that finish that work for me. Then I decided to take a chance on this one because it looked similar to a favourite Givenchy lipstick I have. Well, Full Fuchsia has been such a delight to own and wear. It lights up my whole face and makes me look more awake. Feels great on the lips and wears well. It's become a real favourite. It might look a bit scary in the tube but applied, it looks great - bright but highly wearable.

I just got my lipstick delivered & it surprised me in a good way. It's lovely! Looking at your review pics, I thought it would have a frostier finish like What A Do or Beigeland but it doesn't. It even looks that way when you see the lipstick bullet in person too but it definitely has a lustre finish with just a hint of frost (more like a "warm glow"). This would definitely be an awesome summer pick but I can see myself using this shade year round. I only took 1/2 star off only because although I love lustres I wish they lasted a bit longer. But hey, that's the lustre formula for you! The packaging is also really beautiful so I'm glad I could snag a piece of this LE collection. PS Thank you for all of your swatch photos & reviews, Christine. They are so spot on & your blog has been such a huge part of my life for years. :)

Very comfortable on the lips, sheer application so more of a moisturizing feel, not longwear, need to reapply after eating but wears off gradually. Nice cool toned soft pink, not your typical pink lipstick, adds just a little something to your look. Might be too specific to be universal but great for fair to light cool skin tones.

Nice cool toned red, longwearing (until a hot cheese sandwich), matte finish, not too drying, easy to re-apply. A tiny bit on a bright side but not overwhelming. If Ruby Woo seems too much, that's the best next choice. Easier to apply with a lip liner.

Soft but a bit tangly application, easier with a lip liner, feels nice on the lips, glossy colour, but not too much sparkle, full coverage, doesn't dry into patchiness, great dark cool toned red, looks as a defined yet natural statement lipstick (doesn't look that separate from a face like matte lipsticks sometimes do). Great for cool, neutral and olive skin tones, dark eyes/hair.

MAC Photo is an amazing lipstick, from the formula to the color. While the shade it's a wonderful medium-dark brown, with a golden red undertone (in the bullet), it's not for everyone; I highly recommend trying this in a store, it's not a good blind buy. On my light-medium complexion it looks quite dark, but I like the contrast. Because my skin is quite warm and yellow tone, on my lips it actually looks slightly greyinsh, cool toned, there's no golden/orange peaking through; I just love the color, the grungy vibes I get, but with the wrong eye make-up this shade can definitely make me look sick / tired. Formula wise, I love MAC Mate lipstick, I find them very long-lasting, but still comfortable. Photo is one of the best shades I have ever had from MAC, it's incredibly comfortable, it never feels drying. I barely have to re-apply during the day, mostly after a big meal.

My new favorite lipstick and color. Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine "Inspiring" had previously been my favorite (discontinued). Mac's Lustre Lipstick "Capricious" ticks all of the same boxes of qualities that I loved about Estee "Inspiring" (color, weight, shimmer).
