Definitely a MLBB shade, at least for me! I love this for work and class or just those outings where you want to feel polished but not necessarily turn heads everywhere you do. it’s a comforting look. Some have had issues with the cremesheen line, in terms of dryness and such, but it works fine for me
lovely color, suits my skin really well. love that it can be applied super sheerly for a pretty stain, or layered on for a pin-up look. I’ve worn it numerous times, and always get tons of compliments. Since it is matte in texture, it is not the most hydrating lipstick out there; make sure to apply lip balm a few hours before you plan to apply this lipstick.
Please Me is one of MAC’s underrated permanent items (of which there are many!). It’s a great basic item to have – pink but not bright, neutral but still noticeable. The matte finish pairs excellently with this shade – in my opinion the finish is what makes this shade sing. This is one of my staple products. I have almost used a whole tube and will buy another when I use it up.
I obviously bought this lipstick because I love Rihanna! Aside from that, I’m completely in love with the color and finish. There is something very classic and sexy about the effect. I’ve never worn red lipstick, but this is a very positive step into that direction. If you’re looking for something super moisturizing, this isn’t the lipstick for you. If you love the look Rihanna has made her signature, cop RiRiWoo when it rereleases in the fall.
Love love love this! I just bought it today as a random pick when I went into my local MAC store to find a good red lipstick. I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did. It’s very soft and creamy when you put it on though it’s not a moisturizing lipstick (I have great lip balm that might help with that). It lasted about 6 hours on me but then again, I wasn’t doing much eating or drinking, and it did leave a slight stain behind afterwards. You also don’t have to put a lot on in order to have it be opaque which is great. Plus, it supports a great cause so it was totally worth it. I might buy another one. It’s a great, bright, and fun color for spring/summer. I love the fact that it’s a warm-toned pink since so many pink lipsticks are cool-toned/blue-based.
I was actually kind of terrified of this color but I bought it because it had so many good reviews. It was such a good choice! The color really compliments my skin (I’m pale but warm toned) and, according to my friends, lights my whole face up. It’s very easy to tone down if you put it on lightly: by doing this, I can make it more coral toned than pure orange. I would definitely give it a try as it’s a great color for summer!
Fantastic red that suit most skin tones. On my lips, it’s as a cool tone red as much as a berry-ish red.
Long lasting and easy to apply.
A perfect dupe for this is Maybelline ColorSensational in Red Revival (645). The same shade but with a glossier finish. It doesn’t last as long on the lips, though.
Creme Cup is a nice, blue-pink lipstick that feels creamy but doesn’t go on quite as creamy on the lips. If you have any lip imperfections (like lip wrinkles or patchiness) Creme Cup will emphasize it. Otherwise this is an excellent lipstick that creates that perfect, glossy pink lip but looks best with a semi-sheer or sheer lip gloss. I usually pair Creme Cup with with a milky pink lip gloss for perfect lips. 😀
Nude for those who look ‘dead’ in canon nudes. It is definitely pink, and described as “light blue pink” by MAC. On me it looks very neutral–muted dusty pink, a bit lighter then my natural lip color. Looks great with dark eye-makeup, or everyday ‘natural’ looks.
Formula-wise it is opaque, not drying, doesn’t bleed or settle into lines, wears well (~3-4 hours) and fades w/o drama leaving my lips in presentable condition. A staple in my makeup bag, a must have pinkish nude–very flattering on fair skin (can look milky w/ tan).
Cherish is my favorite lipstick of all time, mine is nearly finished and I will definitely repurchase it.
The Satin finish is creamy when applying but it sits well on lips and last for 3 to 4 hours if I dont eat.
The color is a nice highly pigmented peachy brown that goes well on my NC20 skin. It is my HG my lips but better!
Such an amazing fuchsia colour. It can tend to lean more purple than pink on some people (including myself).
The texture and formula is excellent, and even when the lipstick comes off after eating etc, the colour leaves quite a nice stain on the lips.
I would have given it a 5 star rating, but the fact that we have to pay $36 for it in Australia prevents me from leaving it top marks!
I find Creme Cup weird. It’s a nice colour, but the creamsheen formula is weird on me, and seems to be patchy and shows dry patches. I also don’t find the formula on this one to be as good as say Amplified finishes, being not opaque enough for my liking. Bit of a bummer, because its a lovely everyday colour.
I will admit, it is a little dry to the lips to wear, but it goes on smooth, which I can appreciate. It is a hard color to wear though. I’m still attempting to find a lipliner, as I think I’ve found a gloss, that will help tone down the color just a few shades or make it a little more wearable then it is right now. Because putting it by itself on my skin tone just doesn’t work unfortunately, but I’m determined to find a way!
This is one of those lipsticks that I would never wear on it’s own, it just doesn’t suit my skintone. It’s really to light, BUT paired with the right lipgloss this becomes a wonderful shade. I pair it with Nymphette from MAC and a few colors from the Too Faced lipgloss line and it’s absolutely wonderful.
Wonderful shade of pink from MAC. It’s bright, really fun, and can work on just about any skin tone in my opinion. Not to mention it lasts! I pair it with the Magenta lipliner when I want to make it a tad darker depending on the look I’m going for, but it’s still gorgeous.
So for women of color out there that fall into the dark range I will say this: Lip liner is your BEST friend with this lipstick. Your best friend ever. Putting it on by itself I look crazy and like I got into a fight with my train case and lost, badly, but adding a lip liner (Silly from MAC if you want more pink, Nightmoth from MAC for a vampire lip effect, Fushia from Milani for an electric dark pink – close enough to Girl About Town by MAC – shade) makes this a wonderful color though.
So I was looking for a purple that was a true purple, no red undertones, no pink undertones, but purple. A nice, wearable, shade of purple. And I’m super happy to say that this is it! I love this shade from MAC, it’s great and not dry like some of their other lipsticks that I’ve tried.
“O” applies with a sheerness that doesn’t match up with the image on the MAC website. It also applies differently than expected based on what it looks like in the tube. Perhaps due to the pearl shimmer or the frost formula this color does not quite apply evenly. It is not unflattering to the naked eye but when a photo was taken with the flash on it was very noticeable.
The formula can be drying so you may want to apply a moisturizing lip balm first. I could not get even application no matter how much I put on, nor could I achieve opaque coverage. The color is a very wearable one though so I would recommend it to those that don’t mind the sheerness and the somewhat drying formula.
