So pretty, but you have to work it onto a few layers to get it good

I was originally going to buy Woodwinked (a warm, frosty brown, with a decent amount of sparkle) but after learning that it was sold out, I was shown Patina as a comp. It's definitely not as shiny as Woodwinked, which I happen to like because it seems more suitable for everyday wear. But I've also used it as a base shade with Woodwinked for an evening party. Definitely worth every penny. xx

Like Julia, the previous reviewer, I find that Patina really shines (pun only partly intended) when layered over Powersurge Eye Kohl (a pencil I never thought I'd want or need!). Patina is such a terrific shade for so many looks and if, like me, you don't generally go in for anything flamoyant, you will find Patina a great shadow to own.

Patina is one the most interesting and unique shades. It is not quite gold, but not quite brown either. Patina does tend to go on sheer, but it is buildable. If you use a flat shader brush like the MAC 239, then it is more easy to get the product opaque. I have also found that Patina looks phenomenal when layered over MAC Powersurge pencil. The Powersurge brings out more of the complexity of Patina. Patina lasts all day without creasing on me as long as I use an eyeshadow primer, but that is usually the standard for me with any eyeshadow.
